1.Orjan Svensson: Swedish Hebraic Tendencies?
From: Orjan Svensson <orjan.svensson@mbox300.swipnet.se>
Subject: evenings before holidays

Shalom,
Today I had a small discussion with a Swedish priest. I don't think he is
aware of Brit-Am, but he said roughly: "Sweden is the only country I know where the evenings
before holidays are emphasized similarly to how the Jews celebrate their holidays. Other
countries celebrate Christmas day, but in Sweden the main celebration is on Christmas eve, i.e. the evening
before. Similarly we have in Sweden the eve of Easter, the eve of
Pentecost, the eve of Midsummer day, eve of Epiphany etc,
so in the celebrations of Christian holidays in Sweden the evening before is emphasized."
He also roughly said "The average Swede nowadays rests more on Saturdays
than on Sundays and seldom works on Friday evenings, which are spent
more with the family, so they are almost celebrating shabat without knowing it."
I did not think so much before of the significance that evenings before
holidays are emphasized so much here in Sweden, but I now think that this can be a
remnant from the past Hebraic traditions of our Israelite ancestors.
When I think of it services in Swedish churches on Sundays are always each
week preceded by bell-ringing and devotion the evening before.
I don't know how it is in other Protestant countries concerning this. But
in any case the emphasize on evenings before many
big Christian holidays I think is quite characteristic for Sweden.

God bless you,
Orjan

Brit-Am Comment:
John BRAND, (Edited, revised and greatly enlarged by Sir Henry Ellis):
"Observations on the Popular Antiquities of Great Britain",   London 1841,
brings numerous instances where the common practice of the English people
concerning holidays, Sabbath, etc tended towards the Hebrew one and how the CHURCH
went to great lengths to distance
them from such tendencies.

2. Question on the word "Brit-ish"

Answer:
Shalom,
"Brit" in Hebrew means "covenant". Look up "covenant" in an English-Hebrew
Dictionary.
"Ish" means "man". Look up "covenant" in an English-Hebrew Dictionary.
[It cannot also denote "belonging to", or "part of" (and is so used in
Hebrew religious works)
similarly to the suffix "-ish" in English).
We thus have the combination "Brit-Ish" which in Biblical Hebrew could mean
"Man of the Covenant". In Modern Hebrew the alternate construct "Ish-Brit"
would probably be preferred but the meaning is the same.

3. Celtic, British, and Scandinavian Sources
Very useful source of primary texts:
http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/celt/index.htm
especially concerning the 'Celtic" peoples.
see especially
<http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/celt/fab/index.htm>The Four Ancient Books
of Wales
by William F. Skene [1868]
We hope to summarize important sections of this work
and to publish it as an article in our magazine
"Brit-Am Truth".
Skene claims (putting it somewhat simply) that all the West Coast of Wales
from North to south was Gaelic the same as Ireland and
Northern Scotland.
All of  Wales apart (from the Western Coastal section) from North to
south  was Cymry
similar to Cornwall, English Celts, and Lowland Scotland.
The Picts came from Scythia at a late date and intermarried with the
Gaelics. And other things.

4.  Questions to Brit-Am
Yair Davidiy gave a talk to a Jewish group in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem.
The was quite successful. Several questions were asked
to which Yair was reuested to give clear cut answers.
The questions included:

(1. Assuming you are right, what do you say to these people?
Do you tell them they have to return to Judaism?
If not, why not?
What do you tell them they have to do?

(2. The Bible says that the Biblical message should be taken to all the peoples
of the world why do you not emphasize this?

(3. Explain the passages in Isaiah concerning Cyrus.
How do you relate them to the Ten Tribes, to people of
African descent, India, and the "Anglos"?

(4. Your message concentrates on peoples from Western Europe.
Are there other members of other peoples in your organization?

(5. What tribe do you belong to? Are you from Ephraim?

(6. Are your criteria individual and genetic or national and general?

(7. Where does it say that "Ephraim" would be lost?

According to those present in the audience all of these questions were
answered clearly and well.
Thinking back on the matter however it seems a few points may have been missed.
In addition it is felt that these matters may also interest our subscribers
even though in one way or another
the subjects have been covered before.
In coming postings we will give answers to the questions above.

5. The Transfer of populations in the Middle East and colonization by "Ephraim"
Iraq is underpopulated and could take in profitably the populations of
Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon.
Egypt has to many people but they could take in all the Palestinians and
hardly notice it.
Libya needs more people.
The Druzes of Syria and Lebanon should perhaps stay where  they are and
assist the "Ephraimites" to settle in those regions when the time comes.
Perhaps more serious thought should be given to this resettlement on a
practical
basis?

The Land of Greater Israel
Micah says that when the Israelites return they shall inherit
Bashan and Gilead as in former times (7:14).
[Micah 7:14] FEED THY PEOPLE WITH THY ROD, THE FLOCK OF THINE HERITAGE,
WHICH DWELL SOLITARILY IN THE WOOD, IN THE MIDST OF CARMEL: LET THEM FEED
IN BASHAN AND GILEAD, AS IN THE DAYS OF OLD.
<<BASHAN AND GILEAD>>: Mean the present-day regions of Syria and Jordan.

Zechariah 10:10 says that Ephraim will possess Lebanon and Gilead meaning
Lebanon and Syria! These areas actually also include parts of Turkey and Iraq.

These areas were east of the Jordan and included present day Lebanon,
Jordan, and Syria, as well as parts of Turkey and Iraq. The Promises to
Jacob and Abraham will be fulfilled (7:20).

Ephraim shall be a mighty nation (Zechariah 10:7). They shall be delivered
from their places of exile and be brought to Gilead (Syria) and Lebanon but
there will still not be enough room for them (10:10).

             (Micah 7:14, Zechariah 10: 10).

[Zechariah 10:7] AND THEY OF EPHRAIM SHALL BE LIKE A MIGHTY MAN, AND THEIR
HEART SHALL REJOICE AS THROUGH WINE: YEA, THEIR CHILDREN SHALL SEE IT, AND
BE GLAD; THEIR HEART SHALL REJOICE IN THE LORD.

[Zechariah 10:8] I WILL HISS FOR THEM, AND GATHER THEM; FOR I HAVE REDEEMED
THEM: AND THEY SHALL INCREASE AS THEY HAVE INCREASED.

[Zechariah 10:9] AND I WILL SOW THEM AMONG THE PEOPLE: AND THEY SHALL
REMEMBER ME IN FAR COUNTRIES; AND THEY SHALL LIVE WITH THEIR CHILDREN, AND
TURN AGAIN.

[Zechariah 10:10] I WILL BRING THEM AGAIN ALSO OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT,
AND GATHER THEM OUT OF ASSYRIA; AND I WILL BRING THEM INTO THE LAND OF
GILEAD AND LEBANON; AND PLACE SHALL NOT BE FOUND FOR
THEM.
Egypt and Assyria could apply to areas in Europe, as we have explained
elsewhere. The exiles of Israel will leave these areas.
Gilead means Syria and Lebanon means Lebanon. These areas will be
re-populated by the Lost Ten Tribes represented by "Ephraim".
