Yair, Hi. I sort of said wow when I
read this portion of your Jer.36 email.
I have been studying intently for a
couple weeks now the subject of King
David and that it certainly seems to
me that the bible states prettly
clearly many times that King David
will in fact be Messiah. It seems that
everyone (Jew and Christian alike)
are pretty much saying it is a son of
David. Do you agree that King David
may be Messiah?

We have answered this question once
before somewhere.
Verses concerning David in the end
time include:
[Hosea 3:5] AFTERWARD SHALL THE CHILDREN
OF ISRAEL RETURN, AND SEEK THE
LORD THEIR GOD, AND DAVID THEIR KING;
AND SHALL FEAR THE LORD AND HIS
GOODNESS IN THE LATTER DAYS.
[Ezekiel 34:24] AND I THE LORD WILL
BE THEIR GOD, AND MY SERVANT DAVID A
PRINCE AMONG THEM; I THE LORD HAVE
SPOKEN IT.
[Ezekiel 37:24] AND DAVID MY SERVANT
SHALL BE KING OVER THEM; AND THEY ALL
SHALL HAVE ONE SHEPHERD: THEY SHALL
ALSO WALK IN MY JUDGMENTS, AND OBSERVE
MY STATUTES, AND DO THEM.
Other verses continue in the same vein.
There is one minority Rabbinical opinion
that the intention really is to a
resurrected David.
Another opinion says that there will
be a Messiah son of David as the main
ruler and a resurrected David ruling
beneath him.
In my opinion the intention is to a
Messiah physically descended from
David and embodying the substance of
David, maybe even a kind of
reincarnation of David.
At all events a Messiah descended from
David will arise at some time.

It was promised to David that out of
his son Solomon would arise a
descendant who would rule forever.
David had other sons. The promise was
only to the descendant of David through
Solomon implying that the Eternal
Kingdom will be ruled over by a descendant
of David (through Solomon)
rather than David himself.
[1-Chronicles 22:9] BEHOLD, A
SON SHALL BE BORN TO THEE, WHO SHALL BE A
MAN OF REST; AND I WILL GIVE HIM REST
FROM ALL HIS ENEMIES ROUND ABOUT: FOR
HIS NAME SHALL BE SOLOMON, AND I WILL
GIVE PEACE AND QUIETNESS UNTO ISRAEL
IN HIS DAYS.

I have told my father about your research
(he is 88 and totally committed
