Have you considered the "individuality" you mentioned may be more of a process of Americanization of Christianity?  The early settlers colonized to stay together united there had to be a bigger sense of community than self.  The whole idea of a Savings and Loan was a community would pool their money so one family could have a home, they continued contributing into a pool for the second family and third.  American Natives same thing.  The tribal, clan families are the most strongest form of community.  As Americans prospered especially in the 50's, families began moving away from each other, travel made more easy.  Then the 60's introduced the ME generation, and we've continued sliding into family division, selfishness and greed.  The terms have been changed, it was equality under the law and now it's just plain equality, the individualism spoken of in the founding documents was not about one person; but rather not being wards of the state like is seen now.  Joseph was definitely a family, clan, tribal man.

The Bible is mainly Hebrew, the thoughts and writing patterns of the New Testament writers who were Jews can be seen, Jewish thoughts and literature were simply put into a Greek then English language.  So even the concept or idea of salvation may be very different between Christians and Jews.

2. A Family Squabble?

Commenting upon Brit-Am 990 -
#1. Francis Hynds: Ulster and Israel

As for the question of both Judah and Joseph/Israel fighting (squabbling)
amongst themselves, this has always seemed to be the case, until a common
enemy comes along and then they unite, usually defeating that which comes
against both of them!  Otherwise concerning the relationship between Judah
and Joseph/Israel, try this:
The Lion and the Unicorn
Fought around the Town
They fought for a sixpence,
They fought for half-a-crown.

Dear Yair
Checking out the Brit-Am Family page I was most disappointed to find that not much has changed these last few months. Where is everybody?
