1. Note by "L" on Star of David
Awhile back there was a post about the American seal and its meaning.
What was never mentioned was the star of David that was put above the eagles
head. Just wondering why this was left out?..
If you do a search on its design, you'll see they referred to it as the seal of
Solomon.... this goes back to the 1700's

Also the design is interesting because when the triangles are drawn through it
it is the center star that is untouched. 12 tribes received land one didn't.

2. Circumcison for Ephraimites?

#7. Question: Should Ephraimites Circumcise themselves and Keep the Law?

Dear Yair, I consider myself an Ephramite. I was a pastor in a Christian church, but found the Truth regarding Torah, Shabbat, etc. in 1999. I felt compelled to be circumcised in the Fall of 2005. Although we were cleaning up after hurricane Katrina and I developed some complications from the heat, sweat, etc. it was the most satisfying experience in my halacha with HaShem. I am 49 years old and I truly understand now why father Abraham was siting under the Oak of Mamre with his head bowed when visited by the Messengers regarding Sodom. He had been circumcised only 3 days earlier! Yair, thanks so much for your work. We appreciate you. Shalom, David

3. Questions on Arians, Aryans, Jews and Judah

My son was listening to a talk show this morning.

A man called in and stated that

1.  The word ARIAN or ARYAN doesn't mean what we have been taught ... a Caucasian of non-Jewish origin ... as used by Hitler

The Webster's Dictionary says:

Arian ... see Aryan ... related to Arius or his doctrines; a believer in or an advocate of Arianism; the doctrines of Arius, an Alexandrian of the 4th century, who taught that Jesus was not of the same substance as God, but only the best of created beings.

(Not wanting to open a discussion of Christians vs Jews as I am of one faith and you are of another, yet brothers, we can agree on those things which we agree and that most likely is that we/many/some here in the US are of the tribe of Joseph who was appointed to carry the Good News to the ends of the earth and that one day (and maybe very soon, YHWH God will straighten all our opinions out to completely match HIS !)

2.  That there are more Jews in IRAN than in Israel

3.  That the majority of those calling themselves Jews who presently occupy Israel are not actually of the line of Judah.  (Is that possibly WHY the leadership in Israel seems to agree to give away land promised to Israel and his descendants?"

I guess, after that dictionary search, my question applies mostly to #2 and # 3.

I look forward to and value your opinion.

Shalom ...

(great peace and prosperity in every aspect of your life, completeness and abundance)  ... Nickie

Answers:
(1) Aryan and Arian are two separate entities.
"Aryan" means belonging to the "Aryan" race or language group more especially the Indian or Persian.
The term was later adapted to become synonymous with "Indo-European" or "Caucasian".

"Arian"  means belonging to the "Arian" religion which was a branch of Christianity
founded by an Egyptian Prelate named
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki//wiki/Arius>Arius (c. AD 250-336 CE).

.(2) For every Jew living in Iran there are AT LEAST 145 living in Israel.
Nevertheless the number of  Jews in Persia is surprisingly high.
Wikipedia ("Persian Jews") states
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Jews
By various estimates, between 30,000 and 40,000 (most sources say 35,000) Jews remain in Iran, mostly in <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki//wiki/Tehran>Tehran, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki//wiki/Isfahan_%28city%29>Isfahan (3,000), and <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki//wiki/Shiraz>Shiraz.

There are ca. 5,800,000 Jews in the State of Israel.

(3) A majority of the Jews descend from Judah and/or Israel.
Nevertheless there are also many Jews who descend from non-Israelites
and some of these may be amongst those eager to give away parts of the Land of Israel.
Even so, from the point of view of the Bible (which is what we adhere to) all the Jews are considered
under the heading of Judah.

4. Dafydd Cotter: 360 Degrees and an Ancient Calendar of 360 Days

From: Dafydd <dafydd@iinet.net.au>
Subject: Regading recent discussions -
Shallom Yair,

Regarding the calendar change from 360 days to the present 365/6 days, there
are other proofs regarding this change. I read in one of Velikovsky's books
(can't recall which one, it was some years ago), there is a star map painted
on the ceiling of a chamber in the great pyramid at Cheops which is at total
variance to the star map visible in the Egyptian skies these days. This
indicates that the earth has undergone a major realignment in realtion to
our cosmic neighbours - within OUR historic period.

Another proof is the number of degrees in a circle. We accept that a circle
consists of 360 degrees, and this is universally accepted. Why do we accept
360 degrees?, why not 365.25, why not some other figure? Obviously, this is
tied in with the ancient calendar of 360 days for the earth's full cycle
around the sun (i.e., one degree = one day on HaShem's calendar).

I have always believed that the megaliths were build after a "major event"
which caused the realignment, as they reflect our present position in
relation to our solar neighbours (summer and winter solstice at Stonehenge,
etc., and, probably, many other similar examples). If these megaliths were
built prior to the event which resulted in the calendar change, they would
be just a pile of rocks serving no apparent purpose on the plains of western
Europe.

I would also like to pass on my thanks to your correspondent Cam Rea for his
article on the re-settlement and revolt of the northern (Hebrew) tribes and
their Assyrian conquerers, which was some issues back now.

My best wishes,

Dafydd Cotter

5. Question on Tea Tephi: Do You Believe it?
"C. Koch"  wrote:

Shalom Yair,

What is your personal bottom line opinion regarding the story of the
daughters of King Zedekiah and the unification of Judah Zarah and
Judah Pharez in Ireland?

Do you feel that there is enough circumstantial evidence to piece
together?

Thanks!
C. Koch

Answer:
This story if true would involve the Milesian Monarchs of the Family of Nial
who once ruled over most of Ireland and Scotland.
DNA experts now identify these people with the Northwest Ireland Modal Haplogroup
(R1b1c7) whose membership today may number two to four million or more.
http://dienekes.blogspot.com/2005/12/irish-modal-haplotype.html
Technically it would also include myself since my family also belongs to the
category in question.

We have no objection to Tea Tephi in principle, just the opposite.
I have not studied the relevant sources sufficiently to be confidant about
an answer in either direction. I personally I tend to take a skeptical approach in this
matter but would like more research done on the subject.
Even if the answer is negative the research is worth doing and may turn
up positive results in other directions.
