1. Gordon Brown - Another Gog?
From: "sean.grieve1@virgin.net"
Subject: Gog
Hi guys,
I've been away for a few weeks and just read the question about george bush being gog. You are quite right to say he is not. By strange coincidence our next prime minister in the UK will be Gordon Brown, who is a Scot, and Gog is a Scots abbreviation for Gordon. I am sure this is only a coincidence and pray he does not follow the same misguided path the Bliar household took.
Sean.

Brit-Am Note: the above website is a Christian one and also contains an article claiming the Japanese to belong to the Lost Ten Tribes.
This is not true.
A few Japanese may (or may not descend) from Israel but most do not though Japan does contain a certain "Semitic" element from other sources.
We will prepare an article or longish note on the subject. Yair

PS. Every time I write something like the above I am afraid of offending somebody's mother or wife.
Being an Israelite does not necessarily make one better than someone who is not.

4. Question on Rebuilding the Temple
Dear Yair
Thank you for sending me the Jerusalem news . I appreciate being informed of what is going on there. .....Are there plans at this time for rebuild ing the Temple on the temple mount and any plans to reinstitute the daily sacrifices? Your answer would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much ,
Patricia Henry

Answer:
Several groups (such as the Temple Institute) are studying and preparing the Temple Service and rebuilding the Temple so that if it becomes possible it may be done without technical hindrances.
This is not so simple but it is necessary. Apart from that the Temple Mount I understand is officially under some kind of Jordanian (sic) authority and is largely controlled by the Palestinian Moslem religious authorities (WAKF) with the Israeli Police watching over them from a distance.
According to some sources Rebuilding the Temple actually would appear to require the participation of the Lost Ten Tribes.
On a practical level the State of Israel as matters stand at the moment may never be able on its own to go ahead and rebuild the temple even if the powers that be should want to. if however "Joseph" would also want to see the Temple rebuilt we might get somewhere. By assisting Brit-Am one does in effect possibly do as much good and help towards rebuilding the Temple than any alternative.

cf. The following note forwarded to us by David Ben-Ariel:
http://www.templeinstitute.org/sanhedrin-declaration.htm
The Sanhedrin's Decision Regarding the Holy Temple, the Temple Mount, and Jerusalem
28 Iyar 5765
The Sanhedrin calls upon all groups who work in the area of Temple and Temple Mount-related research and activity, to begin to prepare detailed architectural plans for the construction of the Holy Temple, towards the goal of its establishment in its proper place.

The Sanhedrin will establish a forum of architects and engineers whose goal will be to implement this decision, so that detailed working plans are effectively brought to an operational stage.

The Sanhedrin calls upon the Jewish people to contribute towards the acquisition of materials for the purpose of rebuilding the Holy Temple; the gathering and preparation of prefabricated, disassembled portions of this building to be stored and ready for rapid assembly, in the manner of King David. These contributions will be consider "chulin," i.e., non-sacred, for the purpose of the planning and construction of the Temple.

5. Question on Sanhedrin
From: Michael Walker
Subject: Re: "Brit-Am Now"-564
Dear Yair,
Thanks so much for all the great info, you've really helped to 'flesh out' what many of us have been feeling in our hearts for years.
Have you been following any of the developments in the new Sanhedrin that pertain to the Bnei Noach? Over the last 2-3 weeks, there have been some rather significant opinions issued by way of Rabbi Richman's program on Israel National Radio. It seems in some way that there may be an implied connection to the return of the Lost Tribes. What are your thoughts on these developments in the Sanhedrin Beit Din and how do you see these as related to the return of the Lost Tribes?
Shalom u'Vracha,

Answer:

[Numbers 11:16] AND THE LORD SAID UNTO MOSES, GATHER UNTO ME SEVENTY MEN OF THEELDERS OF ISRAEL, WHOM THOU KNOWEST TO BE THE ELDERS OF THE PEOPLE, AND OFFICERS OVER THEM; AND BRING THEM UNTO THE TABERNACLE OF THE CONGREGATION, THAT THEY MAY STAND THERE WITH THEE.

[Numbers 11:17] AND I WILL COME DOWN AND TALK WITH THEE THERE: AND I WILL TAKE OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS UPON THEE, AND WILL PUT IT UPON THEM; AND THEY SHALL BEAR THE BURDEN OF THE PEOPLE WITH THEE, THAT THOU BEAR IT NOT THYSELF ALONE.

These seventy elders comprised the first Sanhedrin which continued in each generation (Deuteronomyn 17) and was a kind of combination of the Supreme Court and the Senate or Upper House in Legislature.
The Sanhedrin in History was a body of seventy chosen sages who decided all matters of religious legal controversy and behavior.
Due to Roman persecution the Sanhedrin was driven out of existence.
Ever since then Jewish Religious Law and practice has more or less developed through working out a kind of consensus amongst all the leading authorities in each generation. This has actually worked (in itself a miracle) but leaves much to be desired.
A re-newed Sanhedrin could be necessary to rebuild the Temple, and possibly also recognize the Lost Ten Tribes for who they are and take steps to effect a reconciliation with them.

The new institution that calls itself the Sanhedrin has no legal status at present and has not yet been accepted (as far as I know) by anybody of standing in Israel nor by the general public.
Attempts were made in the past to re-establish the Sanhedrin but because not enough Sages supported such a move there was no continuation. This does not mean that the attempt itself is not important and potentially it could have great significance in the near future.

I do not think the new Sanhedrin [Supreme Council of Rabbinical Sages] as it now exists will achieve the degree of recognition it would need to be able to do anything but it could serve as the skeleton body for something much better that may come after it.

The Sanhedrin should perhaps be requested to set up a Committee to examine a committee to impartially examine the evidence as to the present -day whereabouts of the Lost Ten Tribes.

Answer:
Nils Shalom,
To join Brit-Am one must subscribe to the magazine "Brit-Am Now" as explained at the bottom of our postings and along with your first issue of the magazines you should receive a certificate of membership.
I think a badge or "button" with the Brit-Am rose is an excellent idea.

7. Culdee called Jewish heritics
From: David
Subject: Culdee called Jewish heritics by Jerome???
Interesting confirmation of the Hebrew origins of the Culdee.
We know from recorded history that in Britain the Culdee Church observed the 7th day Sabbath, and observed the death of Christ as taught to them they claimed by the apostle John himself. They were so much different from the Christianity of Rome that Augustine the missionary sent by the Pope, called them "Jewish heretics."

Yair Davidiy Comments and makes Sundry Observations: The "Culdee" were Celtic Christians?

I myself always liked the Welsh-British Churchman Pelagius who appears to have attached equal importance to those within the Law as those without and suggested that the choice was optional. I do not necessarily agree with him but I admire his mode of thought.

In "The Tribes" we inclined to the view that King Arthur was a Sarmatian.
I now think that this was mistaken and the most likely candidate was someone from Northern Wales.

William Rufus (son of William the Conqueror) was probably a very good king but has been unjustly maligned.

In the latest issue of BAR there is a picture from the Judean scity of Lachish of a horse from before 730 BCE. The inhabitants of Lachish were taken into captivity by Sennacherib and formed a contingent from Judah amongst the Lost Ten Tribes. The horse to my mind appears to be covered by a coat of (metal) armour squares sewn onto a quilt. If this is correct the implications are revolutionary soince such a development is conventionally ascribed to the Sarmatians a few hundred years later.
