3. Kjetil: Hebrew Word for Dance found in Norwegian?
Subject: Reference to Brit-Am 1069 and Celtic dance

There has been a lot of talk about Celtic dancing
lately, which has been very interesting. I haven`t got
a clue about dancing at all, but noticed that the
original Irish word for dancing "rinka" apparently is
borrowed from germanic tongues, and can be compared to
hebrew rikud (dance), and RKAn (expand, spread/beat
out).
Being an amateur, I am quite interested in the origin
of our (germanic) languages and words, especially in
cases where it can be shown that they have a hebrew or
aramaic origin. The roots "RKD" and RKA(n) is
definitely found in germanic tongues in my opinion.
This I will show by examples from Norwegian and
English.

The norwegian word "rykke" means to jerk. Similarly,
"rikke" implies an abrupt movement. Also "rokke" means
to move a heavy item, compare it to the english "rock"
(stone)! "Vrikke" means moving your body, especially
your hips, which is exactly what you are doing when
you are dancing.  We have the modern word "danse"
borrowed from latin today, but in everyday speech,
when we recognise a bad dancer at the dancing floor,
we use this word "vrikke" for poor dancing.
"Rynke", which is the same as the english "wrinkle",
apparently has the same origin. Why? Because wrinkles
are nothing less than expanding skin, isn`t it? And
finally, the obscene word for masturbate is "runke", I
suppose I don`t have to explain that :)

Sincerely, Kjetil

4. Answer to Questions on the :Sanhedrin: Letter, the USA as "Meshech & Tubal", Brit-Am and Lost Israelites

Re: Chief Prince of Meshech & Tubal?

Yair, Do you have an explanation for Rabbi A Even Yisrael Steinzaltz of the Sanhedrin, et al, referring to President Bush as the Chief Prince of Meshech and Tubal in their 28 Tevet, 5768 letter? There are so many conjectures these days as to the identities of the descendants of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal that novices are left perplexed. God bless. Mark A. Robinson

(a) Is the Letter Genuine?

We could not find the Letter on the Temple Institute web site
http://www.templeinstitute.org/news.htm
nor on that of the "Sanhedrin"
http://www.thesanhedrin.org/en/

We did find it on the site of "Watchgirl".
This is not enough to confirm its authenticity.
In fact this in itself casts doubt on the whole matter.

Complete Text of the "Sanhedrin" Letter as given by "Watchgirl":

Sanhedrin letter to Bush

This is an amazing letter.

Complete text of the Letter.
Quote:
28 Tevet, 5768 / January 6, 2008

In the Name of the Lord, Eternal God

To The Honorable Mr. George W. Bush,
President of the United States of America,

Who comes seeking the presence of the Most High God, to Jerusalem, city of God, Divinely chosen site of the Holy Temple, eternal capital of our land, "the joy of the entire earth (Psalms 48:3)," may it be rebuilt and established speedily and in our days, Amen!

Esteemed Mr. George W. Bush, the chief prince of
Meshech and Tubal (Ezekiel 38:1), leader of the west!

Upon your arrival in Jerusalem you have the ability to make a declaration, as did Cyrus, King of Persia - whose memory is honored - who in the year 538 BCE returned the exiled nations to their lands and recognized the full right of the Jewish people to reestablish their Holy Temple, the "house of prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7), and called upon them to return to their land,
And in the manner of Lord James Balfour of England, who in 1917, called upon the Jews to reestablish a national homeland in the Land of Israel.

And thus if you truly desire peace and benevolence, and you would be counted in the company of the truly righteous, we call upon you to declare to all the world:

The Land of Israel was bequeathed to the nation of Israel by the Creator of the world. Neither could I, as a son of my faith, nor the Muslims according to their faith, ever take away even the slightest
grain from the
Eternal's gift, which He gave to His people Israel, the eternal people. Thus I call upon all the nations to save themselves from certain doom, to return and recognize That this land is the exclusive rightful inheritance of the people of Israel, as is written in the Torah of Israel, which constitutes the very foundation of our faith, as well as that of Islam; and is the basis for the decisions of the community of nations. He who denies this truth endangers all life on earth.

I shall dedicate all my strength and resources towards settling the Jewish people throughout their entire land. I shall greatly encourage and empower the Jews all over the world to rise up to the Land of Israel and to settle it, to establish God's sanctuary in Jerusalem, to distance strangers from it and thus, I believe, I will be making a major contribution towards world peace.

I cannot simultaneously support the establishment of a foreign state for an alien nation in the Land of Israel, and I will not lend my hand to this wrong.

Or - Heaven forbid - you can choose the second option - to willfully aid in the destruction, under the guise of peace!

You certainly know what the God of Israel did to Egypt and Assyria and to all Israel's enemies from time immemorial: Do you imagine that you will be able to save yourself if you have come to implement a plan that intends to steal the land of "the people that survived the sword" (Jeremiah 31:1), and to cut off those who survived the Holocaust, to rob the land that was given to them by the Creator?

All of the peace treaties and initiatives which have been based upon the decisions of the government of Israel, indeed the entire Oslo process, and the 'Disengagement,' and the establishment of a terrorist state within the Land of Israel known as 'Palestine' - regrettably, all of these agreements are the result of a lack of sufficient faith in the Divine promises that the Lord made to the patriarchs of our nation, and all that is written in the Torah of Israel. Understand this well: the nations of the world cannot excuse their actions and their decisions on account of the weakness of Israel and her government. God ordained that the role of the nations of the world is to strengthen the nation of Israel. This will benefit all humanity and bring about world peace, as the prophets have foretold.

Do you imagine you can escape from the struggles in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon, by offering up sacrifices of the Jews who are slaughtered daily by their enemies who speak of peace but live by the sword?

Upon your arrival in our land we would anticipate that you bring Jonathan Pollard home with you. Bring him home to Israel. He is an emissary of the State of Israel, and he acted on behalf of our people. Authorize his immediate release while you are yet in Jerusalem, before you return to the United States. This will be a positive step that will build confidence.

Remember our forefather Abraham, who pursued the world's four greatest kings in order to redeem his nephew from captivity. We cannot forget the deeds of our patriarchs, whose example guides us through every generation.

We are the loyal representatives of the Jewish people, the New Jewish Congress, and its court of law, the Sanhedrin, as well as the Temple and Temple Mount movements, but we merely reiterate herein what is public knowledge.

No government in Israel and no representative of the Jewish people has the power or right to alter, by even the slightest degree, our covenant with God and the words of our holy Torah, which are everlasting, as expressed by the prophets of Israel and even by the wicked prophet Balaam: "Then he looked on
Amalek, and uttered his oracle, saying: 'First among the nations was Amalek, but its end is to perish for ever' (Numbers 24:20). Thus any desire, plan or agreement that challenges the eternal sovereignty and active possession of the nation of Israel over her entire land is utterly worthless, and has no basis in reality.

Therefore it behooves you to declare: "I, George Bush, Commander in Chief of the armies of the United States of America, will instruct all of my troops to protect the Divine rights of the nation of Israel, and remove from her any threat."

Before you is a choice: You can merit to eternal life, or be inscribed for eternal disgrace. Your fate and that of all those with you hangs in the balance of the destiny of our land.

"and you shall choose life!" (Deut. 30:19).

(c) Brit-Am Commentary on the Letter
Note that the Letter  says:

The name of Dr. Gadi Eshel is not familiar to us.  Rabbi A Even Yisrael Steinzaltz is a recognized scholar.
Rabbi Chaim Richman is also a scholar and a very fine person. Rabbi Richman in the past has been sympathetic to Brit-Am and open to some degree to Brit-Am findings.
Why they used the term "chief prince of Meshech and Tubal" we do not know UNLESS the version of the Letter before us is not accurate.
Why are their web sites NOT acknowledging it?
Up unto now there have been various websites alluding to President Bush as Gog etc and to the USA as Magog or as Mesheck etc. So far all such sites appear to have been run by irresponsible amateurs.
If  confirmation is given us that such an expression did issue forth from the authorities in question we will relate to it. Otherwise the whole question is based on a serious doubt.

(d) Brit-Am Comment on the "Sanhedrin"
A Sanhedrin in Jewish Law is the continuation of the 70 elders consecrated by Moses to advise
and adjudicate in matters of Law (Numbers 11:16, 27:33).
See the Wikipedia article on Sanhedrin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanhedrin
In principle the Sanhedrin should be the Supreme Arbitrator in matters of the Jewish Religion and in many concerns of the Jewish People.
To be valid however it must have the support of most of the Rabbinical Sages.
The present so-called "Sanhedrin" has hardly any support whatsoever.
Technically it is not a valid Sanhedrin.
It could however develop into one in the course of time.
If it ever did acheive some significance then retroactively the present "Sanhedrin" may in the future be considered "legitimate" to some degree.
This unfortunately appears to be something that is unlikely to happen but one never knows.
Nevertheless, Brit-Am (for what it is worth) in principle looks with favor on the attempt that has been made.

The five leaders whose profile is given of the "Sanhedrin"
http://www.thesanhedrin.org/en/main/officers.html
as far as we know look like serious scholars.
Originally 70 Jews formed the initial body when the "Sanhedrin" was created.
See:

#5. The New Sanhedrin?

For some reason as far as we know a full list of the initial 70 members has never been published (if we are wrong please correct us) and we know that since the "foundation" several have "resigned" from membership.
We once saw a partial list of about half the initial members.
We recognized about 10 of them due to personal acquaintanceship or having read some of their writings. Out of this 10, 8 were satisfactory to our knowledge but 2 were not. One (M. Antelman, who we hear is no longer a "Sanhedrin" member) is a notorious Conspiracy Freak with anti-Semitic links while the other is a Muslim aficionado who has spoken falsely about Brit-Am.
Whoever put them on the list must have, or should have, been aware of their opinions which raises doubts concerning the whole matter.
================================================

(e) Some Orthodox Rabbis and their attitude to Brit-Am.
First of all WE STILL DO NOT KNOW whether or not the "Sanhedrin"
did address the President as claimed.
Suppose they did?
How can such statements be reconciled with Brit-Am beliefs?
Answer: They cannot
BUT
Here and there we have encountered Orthodox Rabbis and Rabbinical scholars who sympathize with us and concede that as far as they can tell Brit-Am arguments are valid.
They seem to take the position however that "Lost Israelites" in the countries identified by us are a minority. Their position is that even though these "Lost Israelites" may have had historical significance they  no longer necessarily do so.  What is more their attitude is that all citizens of the countries in question may be related to as non-Israelites until additional reason is given to do otherwise.
This differs from the Brit-Am position in the emphasis given to certain factors.
Brit-Am is open to the possibility that "Lost Israelites" may be only a minority but we doubt it.
Brit-Am tends to accept relevant "Lost Israelite" countries as representative of Hebrew Tribal Entities and citizens of such nations as probably of Israelite descent.
This is despite the fact that from a Biblical point of view they may be wrong, they may be idolaters, sinners, etc, and in grave error.
They may also in some instances be anti-Jewish.
In other words they may be wicked but still basically of Israelite descent and need to be related to as such.
The Brit-Am attitude is often justified by Current Events but sometimes it may seem not to do so.
In such cases, it happens that the position we have described of  "Some Orthodox Rabbis" may have something in its favor.
