2. Michelle Bowie: The Beginning of a Journey.
Re: You Lucky People! King David and Repentance.
http://www.britam.org/repentance.html
Shalom Yair,
Jusrt reading your words, if people will only allow themselves to understand...if they are seeking truth at all about WHO Israel is, then they have been whispered to by Abba Father. His sheep He is gently calling to them....one by one, we get off the path in Babylon and go down the narrow path of truth.
Anyone who stumbles upon your site or any other like it, usually do so because they have searched these things out and that means they are beginning the journey of being called out of Babylon.
There is no way to separate learning about the the lost ten tribes and not be spiritual. They go hand in hand by virtue of seeking out the One True God, the Creator of the universe who chose a people out of all people to be His, not to single them out as better than anyone else, but to be the ones, His servants, whom He has chosen to be the Light and tell the truth to ALL mankind.
He chose us to be His servants, to serve Him by teaching truth, seeking truth, and making known to others WHO HE IS.
I certainly cannot speak for anyone else, but HE led me through a process of understanding about Israel, and on the very day I realized what He had shown me, on that day, I fell to my knees, so incredibly humbled by this revelation. That was in 2006. I am still in awe.
Everyone who comes to your site seeking to know more or share what they have found, they are on this journey too. We have all heard the gentle whisper in our ears to know HIM and His truth and share it.
May we all indeed be abundantly blessed by this.

3. Alistair Williams:  The Need for Humility and Brit-Am Reply.
Re: You Lucky People! King David and Repentance.
http://www.britam.org/repentance.html Shalom Yair

Thank you for responding promptly to my Daniel enquiry.

There was a part of the 'you lucky people' email that does not sit well with me, I have pondered it for a couple of days, and it has not gone away, so here goes.

You wrote

"This is a time of self-examination. It is also a period that pertains especially to Joseph. Joseph brought his brothers into the house (Genesis 43:17). Joseph was the Master of the House.
He was the boss. By examining and perfecting ourselves we too become the boss. We became the Masters of our own houses meaning ourselves".

Ancient Israel made this mistake over and over again.

The G-d of Abraham Isaac and Jacob wants to be Master of the House, the prophets place on record 'I will be their G-d and they will be my people'.

By making ourselves master of our own house, we say to Him, "I don't want you, I am capable of perfecting myself thankyou very much, I know what's best for me".

Your work, identifying the tribes, and their location, also reveals why certain nations are blessed materially and others not.

He has kept His part of the covenant, we that is Joseph has not, He keeps His Word, the children of Israel, especially the ten, have not kept their part, yet they have received, and in ignorance believe that all their achievements are of their own making.

King David is on record as realising that he was nothing without G-d, he realised early on that he had sinned against G-d and his repentance was accepted.

The lost ten first have know who they are, then, they will know in what way they have sinned, then they can begin the process of repentance and restoration.

But.  If after self examination we return to being masters of our own houses, then we risk being cut off.

Remember, the serpent beguiled Eve and suggested that if she ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil she would become like G-d.  She ate and gave to Adam and all mankind was cut off for a few generations.

As our knowledge grows through Brit Am and other sources, we must always remind ourselves that the Almighty is revealing this knowledge to us, we are not that clever, without Him we are nothing.

How did King David put it?

Psalm 8 verses 3 and 4
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Psalms 139:
1 O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

On our own, we are nothing, King David knew it, are we better than him?

I pray that you will understand the point I am trying to make, because, in the email you also said something like'I doubt if anyone has sinnned like David did'.

May He continue to bless you and the work you do.

Alistair.

Brit-Am Reply:
The point about becoming the Boss and Master of the House was not something we said but quoted from
The Commentary Bais Yisroel of Rabbi Yisrael Alter.
Everything you said above is correct.
We however have a principle that the Torah and commandments were given us in order that we may do something to earn our own way.
This is similar to a father wishing to bequeath his son a present but before he does so he asks for a cup of coffee.
Giving the gift is not contingent on the coffee nor is the father necessarily thirsty.
He just wants the son to do something symbolic as to earn what he is being given.
So too, being better people and reforming our ways is a bit more difficult than making a cup of coffee.
The reward is also somewhat greater.
cf.
Psalms 18:
30 As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

The word translated above as "perfect' in Hebrew is Tserufa meaning literally purified in a furnace.
The Midrash says on this verse,
# What does God care what you eat or drink or how you prepare your food, etc?
God however wanted to purify Israel [through Torah and Commandments] to give them a reward in the future.
Midrash Tanchuma (VaYikra, Shemini 7).

4. Jayne Botha: Received the Book.
Dear Yair

Received my book - am thrilled - thank you very much -

Ezekiel 36:8-10 "But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your
branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are soon to come home. For behold, I am for you and I will turn to you; and you shall be tilled and sown, And I will multiply men upon you, the whole house of Israel, even all of it; the cities shall be inhabited and the waste places shall be rebuilt ..."

Baruch HaShem
Thank you very much for all you do for us.

All truth passes through three stages: First it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
