1. Brian Weston: Comments and Ancestry. Greetings again Dear Yair, Thanks again for the updates. I think that there is more worthy news in your pieces than there is in the local newspaper. By the way, have you ever thought that the four compass directions are contained in the letters of the word NEWS? I've read your Mandate and am very excited .... I have much that I want to share with you as I'm just starting to realize what a true blessing it is to be able to know and utilize my extended ancestry. The Westons of Staffordshire England were privy to a land holding term known as Amerland. Many have conjectured that it belongs to an ancestor of some significance who lived around the time of William The Conqueror. But pursuant my incessant studies I've come to understand it as something closer to a privileged designation. I also believe the word may actually stem from the Hebrew word, AMIYR. I do know that it is a title unique to Weston and the regions it inhabited in Shropshire and Staffordshire. By most accounts it appears to be a type of portent that carries with it significant ancestral consequence. Here is AMIYR as found in my concordance. AMIYR, aw-meer; apparently from AMAR (in the sense of self-exaltation); a summit (of a tree or mountain): ? bough, branch. AMAR, aw-mar; a primary root; to say (used with great latitude): ? answer, appoint, avouch, bid, boast self, call, certify, challenge, charge, + (at the, give) command(-ment), commune, consider, declare, demand, X desire, determine, X expressly, X indeed, X intend, name, X plainly, promise, publish, report, require, say, speak (against, of), X still, X suppose, talk, tell, term, X that is, X think, use [speech], utter, X verily, X yet. By definition, AMIYR seems to fit very well with the meaning of Amerland if one is to consider it to be a type of favor or privilege in legal affairs where those amerced are given a great deal of latitude in speech and legal determination. I do believe the word MERCY comes from AMERLAND, as perhaps does MAER (incubus), MERLIN of Arthurian legend, and even our own AMERICA. But this is all for another time. I do attach a snippit from the Liber Niger Scaccarii (Black Book of the Exchequer) from 1166 where this Amerland is mentioned regarding land transactions of my earliest named ancestors in Staffordshire. James Stark: Swedish Ancestry, General Remarks, and a Question About Population. Dear sir: I just ordered via the USA postal service "The Scandinavian Secret." My wife's grandparents are from Sweden (SweDAN?) and all have a ruddish-red complexion. We have also been told (oral history), and found in written historical accounts of Sweden, most or many of the surrounding peoples (Scandinavians) may hail, at least in part, from them. Our family discussions often end up trying to equate or justify the mass numbers of Jews and Israeli in this modern world. I realize most do not realize or recognize their "sons of Jacob" heritage DNA. I try to use what is called the rule of the Law of Averages to help explain the significance and the population numbers of lost and acknowledging Israeli DNA being so huge. If Shem represented 1/3 of the global population after the deluge, then the law of averages suggests that over time and all things being somewhat equal, this ratio will continue to reflect a similar distribution of Hamites, Japhites, and S(h)emites today; i.e. three sons of Noah. We also have used as an example the Bible census of Israeli people by tribe at the exodus [Numbers 1] from Egypt and the next census [Numbers 26] just prior to their entrance to the Promised Land. Example: if one tribe had a count of 46,000 men of fighting age upon leaving Egypt and had a similar population upon reaching the Promised Land 38 to 40 years later, they did not stagnate. Consider G-d and his curse on them for the golden calf incident and their rebellion against Moses. Their numbers actually would have almost doubled had they not rejected G-d at that time during the Wilderness adventure. Why all of the above comment? Your research and discovery of the Lost Tribes must be tantamount to a bunch of different colored needles in a huge hay stack.. After all, with nothing less than an average growth rate and the 800 years +/- that Israel was either a nation or two divided kingdoms, their population had to be HUGE at the time of the dispersions. Does Brit-Am have any suggested Jew and Israelite population guesses for this world in 2012? All we hear about in today's news and number guesses are counts of Jews; descendants from the Tribe of Judah with remnants of Simeon and possibly Benjamin mixed in with the current count. I doubt the world a we know it even understands that the Jews are not the whole of Jacob. They in themselves are but a remnant. James Stark See: (1. Population Increase.
