1. David Bell: The British and ANZAC Liberation of Jerusalem
Re: Brit-Am Now no. 1532
#1. The British Initial Involvement with the creation of Israel: Some Major Dates

9 December 1917 - British troops occupy Jerusalem. Yair, very interesting, but lacking some important details (they may be in the book, I do not know). In the days leading up to the liberation of Jerusalem, a squadron of the Royal Flying Corp (RFC) was formed for reconnaissance in the land. The Turks had sworn to defend Jerusalem to the very last drop of Turkish blood. However, when they saw the aeroplanes, the became afraid that a few bombs could block the gates of Jerusalem. This would have cut off the very large Jerusalem garrison, and prevented the Turkish army taking any participation in their defences. They consequently abandoned Jerusalem completely. General Allenbey walked into Jerusalem leading his horse, bareheaded, as a liberator, and not a conqueror. His troops were primarily from Australia and New Zealand. Further, the Turks had a prophecy that Jerusalem would only be delivered by a prophet of God. Allenbey, translated into Turkish, is "Allah en Ebbe", literally, a prophet of God. The motto of that squadron of the RFC was straight from Isaiah 31:5, "I spread my wings and I keep my promise." Isaiah says, "As birds flying, so will the Lord of Hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over He will preserve it." Blessings. David

2. Edward Anderson: THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON by Rudyard Kipling

Re: Brit-Am Now no. 1532

Dear Yair,
I would like to compliment the person that wrote that mighty fine poem, "Baruck Obama: A Poem For Pesach." It is a literary work of art that is destined to be a classic in the English Language!!! If your good friend Jack Flaws has problems with the poem about "Barry" then he sure won't like the poem written by Kipling, which I view as "prophetic"!!! I am enclosing it below for the enjoyment and pondering of your readers.

                                                   Sincerely,
                                                Edward Anderson/

THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON
by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

The Purpose of Exile and Loss of Identity
http://britam.org/Purpose.html
Extracts:

There were originally 12 tribes of Israel.
The 12 tribes were divided into two sections. Ten of the 12 tribes became lost.
The Lost Ten Tribes were exiled and lost their identity.
Judah was also exiled but Judah (i.e. the Jewish People) did not lose his identity. This is a fact.
Why was this?

In principle the tasks of Judah (developing the law and spiritual existence) and Joseph (elevating the rest of the world) should have been combined in the one united entity of Israel.
This was, as if to say, Plan A.
The Tribes of Israel and external world conditions could not take the tension of one body possessing these two attributes and consciously affirming them.
Therefore there arose a need for Plan B.
The two parts of Israel (headed by Judah and Joseph) had to split in two. One side did its own particular task and the other took on the other goal.
This was required by the condition of the world and humanity as prevailed in the past.

Joseph took on those Israelite aspects of ruling the world and civilizing humanity. In order to do this Joseph had to loose his identity, to go do down to the level of the heathen nations of that time and then evolve upwards dragging the rest of humanity with him.
