1. Sharon: Present Day USA Reminiscent of Biblical Israelite Decadence?
RE: 2-Kings. Ch. 4 The Miracles of Elisha
http://www.britam.org/Kings/2Kings4.html
Hi Yair, this passage in Kings sounds EXACLTY like the United States of
2010.

[2 Kings 4:1] A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the
prophets cried out to
Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is
dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the
creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.

Shalom Yair,
I saw his letter you published so thought I would offer that his surname is strong Spanish origins and there are strong ties between Spain and Britain. My own family confirms this. His surname indicates he is of the tribe of Simeon according to the surname Coat of Arms.
I hope that helps him.
Regards and wishes for your speedy recovery! --m bowie

Each Tribe has "its own manner of serving the Almighty which for it becomes a Fundamental Principle".

Numbers 7:12-83 tells us how at the dedication of the Altar in the Sanctuary (while Israel were in the Wilderness) the Prince of each Tribe brought his own offering on behalf of the Tribe. The details of each offering is given at length.

The Commentary "Nativot [also pronounced as "Nativos"] Shalom" (Rabbi Shalom Noach Berezovsky of Slonim 1911-2000) offered the following observation:

# The section where the Princes of each Tribe each bring their own sacrifice is most nonplussing. Why does the holy Torah employ such lengthy apparently superfluous repetition?...Each Prince offered up the same sacrifice. Why does the Torah go back and repeat twelve times, in the same language, the sacrifice of each and every one of the Princes?...The Almighty divided the whole of Israel into twelve tribes. This may be difficult to understand. Superficially it could appear that the Almighty wants the Unity of Israel...Each Tribe has its own unique sanctity...each Tribe has its own special existence and its own manner of serving the Almighty which for it becomes a Fundamental Principle...The Midrash tells us what the intention of each Prince was in offering up his sacrifice...Judah was Royalty...Joseph, the Kingdom...Issachar the Torah...Zebulon his partnership with Issachar and support of the Torah...... #
