2. Tess: Ephraim and the Crown
Re: Brit-Am Now no. 1419
#2. Damon Casale: it's Ephraim who wears the crown
http://britam.org/now2/1419Now.html#Damon

Shalom Yair
In response to Damon Casale and "Ephraim wearing the crown" as in Isaiah 28.

The crown is question refers to pride (which stems from the head) not a crown of kingly authority. Also Ephraim is a collective term for the 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom who were together known as Israel or Ephraim. This is borne out by Hosea and Ezekiel 37 makes it very clear that the two leading households which constitute end-time Israelites are known as Judah and Ephraim.

The only crown at that time will be on the head of Mossiach!

Blessings - Tessa

3. Damon Casale: Beth-El Stone a direct link to the Divine Presence!

[Genesis 28:12] AND HE DREAMED, AND BEHOLD A LADDER SET UP ON THE EARTH, AND THE TOP OF IT REACHED TO HEAVEN: AND BEHOLD THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON IT.
Brit-Am Commentary: A lot of explanations have been given as to what the angels going up and down represent. One explanation is that since each nation has its own representative (cf. Daniel, Zechariah) guardian angel then the angels represent the ups and downs of the kingdoms of the earth.

This explanation is certainly possible.  Specifically, though, the Beth-El stone represented a direct link to the presence of God, to the heavenly Eden.  Compare Ps. 24:

24:1  A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2  For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5  He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6  This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7  Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8  Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9  Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10  Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Although this psalm was interpreted to mean the Temple Mount, it was an overlay with the Garden of Eden, on the mountain of God.  That was why it was said to be "founded upon the seas and established upon the rivers" as the Garden was.  Entry into the Garden was blocked by the Cherubim who guarded it.  But in contrast to this, in Genesis 28 we have angels ascending and descending to and from the presence of God directly to earth to interface with man.

When one dies, one's spirit "returns to God who gave it" (Eccl. 3:21 and 12:7) to dwell with Him in His presence.  At the resurrection, spirit and body are reunited.  In any case, entry into His presence is only through "clean hands and a pure heart," etc.

The whole point of having a stairway between earth and heaven was so that God could directly interface with man.  In other words, this is an overlay with the Temple -- the "house" that God would build for David (2 Sam. 7:11).
(Yes, I realize that God was speaking about David's descendants there, but that's an overlay too.)  It's also an overlay with the Tabernacle, the portable house that the Israelites carried around from place to place.
