Yair,
I know from mutual friends that you are as you appear in these
pages,  a good and gracious gentleman. I marvel at the steadfastness
and even tempered way you deal with difficult people. Thank you, larry
ferguson, Dallas, Tx.

(b) From: Valerie Jean Simons
Subject: Encouragement and admiration

I'm a new subscriber although my Dad has shared a lot of your
newsletters with me before. I've also read "Ephraim" and "Joseph".

Just wanted to say that I admire the grace with which you answer the
questions that get thrown at you. Your responses are factual, precise,
but you don't get hung up on stuff that doesn't matter.

Thanks for your example of how to keep a level head in the face of
opposition.

2. New Word from Chaim Hyman
Brit-Am supporter and my good friend Chaim Hyman just came up with
another English word of Probable Hebrew origin.
"Stuff" may be derived from the French "estoffer" to cram or pad or it
may have Latin or German origins. No-one seems to be sure.
IN Hebrew  "tsfuf" means crowded and "HiSt-afuf" means to crowd up with
the "hi" part being more or less dispensable.
We thus have "stuff" .
Whatever the etymology of the word may be it just so happens that the
Hebrew explanation is the most logical.
This happens frequently.

Answers:
You said
(a) "If Yair is wrong" but if Yair is right you are fighting against
the
light.
Brit-Am is either correct or not. Brit-Am produces evidence that in our
opinion is more true and correct and pertinent than any other
claim. If you feel Brit-Am is mistaken you must state why. When the
truth
is not known the only thing that can be relied upon is evidence
and proof. One can only reach the truth by proving it. This entails
facing
up to counter-claims and giving valid reasons as to why one
disagrees with them.

(b) This is a claim heard from time to time. Brit-Am is in principle
against Israelites returning if they do not keep the law.
Acknowledging the fact that many people in the West are descendants of
Israel does not entail automatically
granting them Israeli citizenship under the Right of Return.
Acknowledging the Israelite ancestry of such people could well help the
Jewish people of Israel in many ways and even
bring about a revival of belief in the Bible and in Judaism amongst
Jews.
It could also help the State of Israel since experience shows that
Brit-Am
knowledge empowers
those who already felt an affinity with Israel and the Zionist cause.
Nevertheless I agree that this is a complicated issue and since it is
largely theoretical I do not want to enter into it
overduly at present.
Two points worth noting on this issue are:
(1). The Russian Gentiles who now enter Israel do so without any
connection
to the Lost Ten Tribes.
They are encouraged to come here because elements in the Establishment
want
them here.
There may be demographic and other reasons for this.
These reasons may not be justified but if they are then a Brit-Am based
solution may be a preferable alternative.
At all events this would be something to be discussed in the future and
does not justify denying the truth
of Brit-Am identity.
(2). When the Train Engine was first invented and brought into use
people
were afraid that the excessive speed
for that time (ca 20 miles per hour at the time?) was too dangerous to
be
allowed. The same was said about the motor car.
In a sense those who were afraid of these innovations were justified.
Numerous deaths injuries and personal tragedies have been
caused due to trains and automobiles. Nevertheless the blessings and
benefits and saving of lives that these machines
have enabled far outweighs the negative results.

(c) This could happen in individual cases but in general someone who
already wants to go in
a general direction will find a reason no matter what.
On the other hand Brit-Am could just as easily also contribute to a
strengthening of Jewish identity amongst born Jews.
We show how both the Bible and the Jewish religion are true and
pertinent
to the world today and how
Judah has a vital role of his own to fulfill in our age and that this
role
involves observance of the Law.

(d) Our message is to encourage the Lost Brit-Am Israelite nations to
recognize themselves
and fulfill their individual roles through identification with and
assistance to Judah.
All of your worries appear to be theoretical.
The problem with the Jews at present is that they are too hesitant
about
going against
the Gentiles. The Jews always seem to thing that something is wrong
about
asserting their Jewishness and their rights
because they are different and in a minority.
When both the Gentiles and the Jews realize that the most powerful and
best
entities amongst these Gentiles
are too a significant degree of Israelite descent who should be helping
Judah by right
attitudes may actually change for the better.
Brit-Am bases itself on the Bible and works to strengthen Bible belief.
The
end result of belief in the bible is not to whitewash anything
but to acknowledge the truth. The truth also entails seeing the good
for
what it is
and not making things out to be worse than they are.

4. Athol Bloomer: Edom?
Dear Yair,

T is overreacting to Shlomo Scheiman mention of Edomite nations. For
many
Christians of British Israelite background it may seem very negative
but to
religious jews Edom is not seen in such a negative light. Esau or Edom
was
the brother of Jacob/Israel. Ancient Jewish writers saw Rome as Edom
and
after Rome's conversion to Christianity that term was extended to all
Christians.  when I was young my mother always said that the Lost
Tribes
are hidden under the guise of the gentile nations. One could reword
this to
say the Lost tribes are hidden under the guise of Edomite nations. It
is to
the Christian world that one must look for the bulk of the Lost Tribes.
The
Zohar teaches that Edom and Israel will be reconciled in order to bring
in
a great messianic era of peace.

I would also like to correct T's comments about the Crusades. There
were no
Protestants at the time of the Crusades. The Protestants also
participated
in terrible persecutions of Catholics in England and Ireland who after
all
were just trying to adhere to the faith of their ancestors for nearly
1500
years. There were terrible things done on both sides which today I
would
hope both Protestants and Catholics would be ashamed of and apoligise
for.
However the terrible anti-semitism in Europe comes from the influence
of
the Gnostic which influenced the lower clergy and the common people of
Europe in the later middle Ages. Professor Joseph Dan of the hebrew
University discusses this in his book on ancient Jewish Mysticism.

5. French Canadians, Jews, and Genteics

Subject: Jewish Disease TAY-SACHS also found in ACADIANS....
Tay-Sachs disease, Canavan disease, familial dysautonomia, Niemann-Pick
(type A) disease, Fanconi anemia (group C), Bloom syndrome, Gaucher
disease
(the non-neuronopathic type), mucolipidosis type IV, and glycogen
storage
disease type 1.  These are all uncommon conditions that are
predominantly
found in persons of Ashkenazi ancestry.  [Tay-Sachs disease is also
found
in persons of French-Canadian (Acadian) ancestry and, rarely, in mixed
Jewish/non Jewish couples.]  Although not strictly a disorder of
European
Jews, cystic fibrosis is often included in an Ashkenazi heritage
screening
panel, since it occurs with the same frequency in European Jews as in
members of the non-Jewish Caucasian population (approximately 1/3,000).

6. A Conspiracy Theorist's Version of Brit-Am belief
From: alan_hogger <Lucky@artsound.com>
Subject: [prj] Re: Israelish Britiscism

I browsed a bit further on Yair's website and found following quotes
referring to Britain. Now you may think this is all nonsense but in
the eyes of the fundamentalist Bush administration this might not at
all be. Does suddenly this fundamentalism make sense? Does it
suddenly make sense why Bush is a fundamentalist Christian at all...

I replace Ephraim with Britain, Manasse with USA etc.

Britain.
".... is mine, and USA is mine; Britain is the strength
of my head; Israel is my lawgiver" (Psalms 60;9).

"The envy also of Britain shall depart, and the adversaries of
Israel shall be cut off: Britain shall not envy Israel, and Israel
shall not vex Britain" (Isaiah 11;13).

"..I am a father to [all countries] and Britain is my firstborn"
(Jeremiah 31;9).

"Is not Britain my dear son? Is he not a pleasant child? for
since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still:
therefore my bowels are troubled for him: I will surely have
mercy upon him, saith the LORD" (Jeremiah 31;20).

"Give ear, O shepherd of [all countries], Thou that leadest Anglo-
America like a flock; Thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine
forth.
"Before Britain and Norway and USA stir up thy strength
and come and save us.   "Turn us again, O God and cause thy face
to shine; and we shall be saved" (Psalms 80;1-3).

"And for the precious things of the earth and the fullness
thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush:
let the blessing come upon the head of AngloAmerica, and upon the top
of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.  "His
glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are
the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people
together unto the ends of the earth: and they are the ten
thousands of Britain, and they are the thousands of USA"
(Deuteronomy 33; 16-17).

Here is the original quotes.

Ephraim.
"Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is the strength
of my head; Judah is my lawgiver" (Psalms 60;9).

"The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of
Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah
shall not vex Ephraim" (Isaiah 11;13).

"..I am a father to Israel and Ephraim is my firstborn"
(Jeremiah 31;9).

"Is not Ephraim my dear son? Is he not a pleasant child? for
since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still:
therefore my bowels are troubled for him: I will surely have
mercy upon him, saith the LORD" (Jeremiah 31;20).

"Give ear, O shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a
flock; Thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
"Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength
and come and save us.   "Turn us again, O God and cause thy face
to shine; and we shall be saved" (Psalms 80;1-3).

"And for the precious things of the earth and the fullness
thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush:
let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top
of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.  "His
glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are
the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people
together unto the ends of the earth: and they are the ten
thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh"
(Deuteronomy 33; 16-17).

Hebrew name for US "Lands of the Covenant" remains mystery

Aaron Lerner                  Date: 11 January 2005

The United States is called "Lands of the Covenant" (Artzot Habrit) in
Hebrew.

It is commonly thought that this name was given in order to avoid
confusion
with the Hebrew name for the United Nations.

IMRA asked Israel Radio's "Moment of Hebrew" program for the source of
the
name.

They find that the term appears in Hebrew papers as early as 1857 - in
the
Hamagid L'Israel weekly.

9. Encouragement
From: Robert Graves
Subject: Psalm 32

Yair,

I wish to thank you for your commentary on the verses in Psalm 32.

It is so refreshing and insightful to some of us Christians (read:
Israelite) brethren to learn how our Jewish brethren interpret the
scriptures...so down to earth and so practical!

Your views remind me of the time in the Messianic Kingdom when many
will
say 'let us go up to the house of the God of Jacob and He will teach us
His
ways' , Micah 4:2; and,"In those days it shall come to pass, that ten
men
shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take
hold
of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we
have
heard that God is with you" Zech. 8:23.

To often we Christians are prone to "spiritualize" Adonai's Word when
all
the time He expects us to use practical common sense in dealing with
each
other in the community and with the Goyim.

Thank you for you work.  Adonai is awakening His children to our
relationship to our brethren in Judah and our heritage in the land He
gave
to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  It is OUR land!  If not now; certainly it
will be when Messiah returns and claims it for all Israel!!  Blessed be
His
Name!!!
