I say.....a bit of news from the British genie researchers:
"According to an English publication, four different races make up the British people.....
a. The Scots, who keep the Sabbath...and everything else they can lay their hands on...
b. The Welsh, who pray on their knees and on their neighbors...
c. The Irish, who don't know what the devil they want, but are willing to die for it...
d. AND the English, who consider themselves a race of self-made men,
thereby relieving the Almighty of a dreaded responsibility!!!
3. Charlotte Mecklenburg: Ezekiel 38
My attention was called to Chapter 36 again recently. It is so clear to me
that we are in the middle of its fulfillment. Just thought I would share
what it is saying to me at this time.
Ezekiel Chapter 36 NIV translation
Ezek. 36:1-2 "Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, O
mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD. This is what the Sovereign LORD
says: The enemy said of you, "Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession."
Didn"t the Arabs say this in 1948? By the way the mountains of Israel is
the West Bank. Now Arabs have received it again as a concession for peace and
they are still saying its ours.
Ezek. 36:3-4 Therefore prophesy and say, This is what the Sovereign LORD
says: Because they ravaged and hounded you from every side so that you
became the possession of the rest of the nations and the object of people"s malicious
talk and slander, therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the
Sovereign LORD: This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and
hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have
been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you
They ravaged and hounded this ground off and on since they were dispersed
to Assyria. However, we especially see it since 1948. Now it is building to a
climax where it will no longer belong to the Palestinians but to the nations.
We hear rumblings of the UN sending in those who can stop the warring
factions. The slander and malicious talk is probably more prolific than it
has ever been. The settlements especially are slandered and maliciously talked about.
Ezek. 36:5-6 this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In my burning zeal I have
spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, for with glee
and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that
they might plunder its pastureland." Therefore prophesy concerning the land of
Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: This
is what the Sovereign LORD says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have
suffered the scorn of the nations.
All of this slander and gleeful talking behind closed doors and in the
open when they have done some collateral damage will come to an end. God is
jealous over Israel he is not at all happy about what they have suffered.
Ezek. 36:7 Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I swear with
uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.
They will reap what they sow.
Ezek. 36:8 " But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and
fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.
This is all of Israel but the mountains will produce branches and fruit
for all of Israel and I am not an expert in Hebrew but the ones coming home
looks to be the 10 tribes. Even if it is all of Israel the branches and
fruit are the 10 tribes.
Ezek. 36:9-10 I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you
will be plowed and sown, and I will multiply the number of people upon you,
even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
A lot of devastation is going on but when God has reversed the scorn from
Israel to the nations then they will come home to the mountains and inhabit
them and rebuild the ruins. What are the ruins? I thought this was done after
1967? But settlements are being ruined now. Ancient towns are being ruined
from the war and retaliation. But when the whole house of Israel is there they
will be inhabited and rebuilt not to be demolished again. How do we know this?
Read the following verses.
Ezek. 36:11 I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they
will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the
past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am
the LORD. I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will
possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again
deprive them of their children. " This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because people
say to you, "You devour men and deprive your nation of its children,"
therefore you will no longer devour men or make your nation childless, declares the
Sovereign LORD. No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations,
and no longer will you suffer the scorn of the peoples or cause your nation to fall,
declares the Sovereign LORD. "
I think it is interesting that it says "I will settle people on you as in
the past and make you prosper more than before." It seems like he is
including people who are not necessarily called Israel but in the next
sentence he identifies them as Israel. What children of these mountains of God were
deprived of their children? Was it not the northern 10 tribes? The cause of the loss of
these children is going to be corrected. We have to remember that it is after
their scorn is turned away from them. We haven"t gotten there yet. But it is coming.
Ezek. 36:16-20 Again the word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, when the
people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their
conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a womanâ¬"s monthly
uncleanness in my sight. So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the
land and because they had defiled it with their idols. I dispersed them among
the nations, and they were scattered through the countries; I judged them
according to their conduct and their actions. And wherever they went among the
nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them, These are the
LORD's people, and yet they had to leave his land."
We read the reason for their dispersal and this would include all
deportations but the last statement would have to apply to those of Judah and
Benjamin because they were not lost and this statement could be said of
them but it has not been said of the lost tribes.
Ezek. 36:21-23 I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel
profaned among the nations where they had gone. "Therefore say to the
house of Israel, This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake, O house
of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy
name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. I
will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the
name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the
LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before
Now we know that the deported ones from Judah have not been cleansed
because the Lord says he is doing this not because they are holy but for
the sake of his own holy name. I hear people say, "well those Jews living over there
in Israel are not holy, they cheat, lie and do all the things that everyone
else does. And of course they are looking at the whole and not individuals who
don"t do that. But we can say, "God didn"t bring them back because they are
holy but because he promised to do it and he is doing it for his own
testimony of trustworthiness.
Ezek. 36:24 "For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you
from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle
clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your
impurities and from all your idols.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from
you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my
Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. You
will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I
will be your God.
He has been bringing them back and He is not going to leave them unholy.
We can all make decisions to do the right thing and we can want to do the
right thing but Salvation comes from God and he is the one who will remove our
hearts of stone and enable us to keep the laws that he ordained to be kept. We
must all keep waiting on him with expectancy.
Ezek. 36:29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the
grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. I will
increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer
suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.
This is already happening but it will increase more after the scorn of
Israel is turned back to the nations.
Ezek. 36:31-35 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and
you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. I want
you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign LORD. Be
ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, O house of Israel! " This is what
the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will
resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt.
The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight
of all who pass through it. They will say, "This land that was laid waste has
become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate
and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited."
This is all yet to come. The repentance on a national level, the changed
hearts will coincide with the scorn of Israel being reversed and put on the
nations that have scorned them.
Ezek. 36:36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD
have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the
LORD have spoken, and I will do it.â¬"
This is emphatically spoken. God will do it. There is an indication that only
the nations that did not scorn the nation of Israel will remain to know that
the Lord has done all of this.
Ezek. 36:37-38 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will
yield to the plea of the house of Israel and do this for them: I will make
their people as numerous as sheep, as numerous as the flocks for offerings at
Jerusalem during her appointed feasts. So will the ruined cities be filled
with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD."
There is an indication here that Israel is pleading with God for this to
happen. Have they been doing this or are they looking to the nations to do it
for them? I think there are some that have been doing this. Is God looking for
more of them to come to him and petition for him to restore their hearts and
land? When people come to him it is redemption. Is he looking for key persons
to do this? Perhaps. Something is going to happen, let us believe and trust
God to do it.
