Yair: Have to take exception with the other tribes being considered Jews.
Simply not the case. Israelites yes, Jews no. All Californians are
Americans. Not all Americans are Californians. All Jews are Israelites,
not all Israelites are Jews. The nation the world sees as Israel, derives
its name from the remnant of the nation of Judah, that went into Babylonian
captivity around 600 BC, and should rightfully be called Judah. The
northern Kingdom, having gone into captivity in 723 or so BC, had the name
of Israel. (Gen 48:16, Ephraim and Manasseh had the right to the name
Israel when Jacob adopted them as sons, Judah never had claim to the title
Israel in scripture, it was given to the sons of Joseph, whom you correctly
identify today as the British Commonwealth and the United States. The
common usage of interchangeability of the two names only leads to confusion
and the muddying of the waters. Keep up the good sleuthing, enjoy the
correspondence. Nice to hear the news from over there..boyd

Comment by Brit-Am:
(a) It is true that in Scriptural terms the northern tribes are not
referred to as "Judah"
or as "Jews". Nevertheless,  in folk-lore and in the terms of  commoners
the Lost Ten Tribes were sometimes
called "Red Jews" or "Lost Jews".  Therefore if according to popular
Gentile Mythology there was a "Jewish"
kingdom in a certain area we are justified in suggesting that the "Jewish"
entity was one deriving from the Lost Ten Tribes.

(b) Usually in Scripture the northern kingdom was referred to as "Israel"
and the southern kingdom as "Judah".
The term "Israel" normally referred to all the Twelve Tribes of Israel or
to the northern tribes as distinct from "Judah".
Nevertheless "Judah" technically speaking was also part of "Israel". There
are quite a few passages in the Bible where the term "Israel"
refers mainly or exclusively to people from the southern kingdom of "Judah"
and their descendants,
e.g.
"WHICH CAME WITH ZERUBBABEL: JESHUA, NEHEMIAH, SERAIAH, REELAIAH,
MORDECAI, BILSHAN, MIZPAR, BIGVAI, REHUM, BAANAH. THE NUMBER OF THE MEN OF
THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL" [Ezra 2:2].

Differing weights and differing measures-the L-rd
detests them both.
An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will
not be blessed at the end.
Íts's no good, it's no good', says the buyer, then off
he goes and boasts about his purchase.
Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love
his throne is made secure.
'This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and
contrite in spirit, and trembles at My word'
It is often not what one does but what one goes
through to succeed in a righteous effort, which is
relevant. In all events that means standing for that
which is according to truth.

3. Science: of Interest:
In our work we several times advanced our belief that human geno-type can
change according to the genetic potential interacting with the environment.
Science appears to confirm this principle.
from "Not by Chance! The Fall of Neo-Darwinian Theory", by Leo M.Spetner
(1996):
p. 198: Several species of plants vary their stem height, stem number, and
flowering times as conditions vary from sunshine to shade and from wet to dry.
Crabs prey on snails with thin shells, but they cannot eat snails with
thick shells. Snails can sometimes tell if crabs are around. In the
presence of crabs they grow a thick shell. This adaptation clearly helps
protect the snails from crabs.
Snails are themselves predators. They prey on barnacles. When the barnacle
senses snails, it protects itself by growing into a bent-over shape that
keeps the snails from eating it. When there are no snails around the
barnacle develops into its normal form.
