#2. Boers of South Africa: predominantly German?

There are still many families amongst the Afrikaner that reflects German
surnames like my own: Zentgraf. Our surname is traceable to early Catholic
records around 800 900CE and is just one example of a German surname in SA.
Our family history remains a very proud tradition and there are only 7
Zentgraf males in SA.

Many Afrikaner surnames just sound more "Dutch" than German, because we have
mainly adopted Afrikaans and not English as our mother tong in South Africa.
Maybe this is why people perceive us to be more Dutch or French than German.

I don't really know though, just some thoughts.

Keep well,
B

2. Question: How do you know the difference between Israelites and non-Israelites?

I have a question.  Can a gentile be of the lost tribes or are the lost tribes some how tied into the bloodline of Abraham.
How do you know the difference if there has been so much cross breeding through the centuries?
Cate

Answer:
Shalom,
I am almost relieved someone finally asked such a question.
Until now we have been having problems with people insisting they are Israelites
because they feel Israelite and therefore they do not need the proofs of Brit-Am
or anything else, and should (they seem to say) be able to come prancing
into the State of Israel and be accepted immediately as equal citizens along with
all the Jews whether they are Jewish or not.
They also get offended and even nasty when one explains to them that such is
not exactly the situation.
To answer your question fully entails the whole Brit-Am message and then more of it.
In short:
We do not know!
The Lost Ten Tribes are amongst the Gentiles, have the status of Gentiles, and concerning any
individual person no proof as to Lost Israelite origin exists.
Even if it did exist (and it does not) it would not mean anything in a practical sense.
We can say the Lost Ten Tribes are to be found in certain areas.
Someone from the said regions or identified groups who has certain qualities
has a good chance to be of Israelite descent.
The Lost Ten Tribes will return.
The problems of incertitude of ancestry and religious differences will be resolved.
At present we have the task of arousing those we can amongst the designated nations
to their Israelite roots on a national level.
We are telling the people in question:
You may well be Israelite.
Your nation is an Israelite entity from the Biblical perspective.
Even if you are not of Israelite origin you should identify with your Israelite nation
and fulfill your God-given task as an individual and as part of an Israelite entity.

At this stage the most important goal should be to arouse, increase, and deepen
awareness.
This is the importance of Brit-Am and related parties in our time.

_The  Lineal Descent of the Royal Family of England_
(http://www.libraryireland.com/Pedigrees1/RoyalFamilyEngland.php)
In A.D. 498, Fergus Mor Mac Earca, in the twentieth year of the reign of  his
father, Muredach, son of (Eugenius, or) Owen, son of Niall of the Nine
Hostages, with five more of his brothers, viz., another Fergus, two more named
Loarn, and two named Aongus (or neas), with a complete army, went into Scotland
to assist his grandfather Loarn, who was king of _Dalriada_

780f8) , and who was much oppressed by his enemies the Picts,  who were in
several battles and engagements vanquished and overcome by Fergus  and his
party. Whereupon, on the king's death, which happened about the same  time, the
said Fergus was unanimously elected and chosen king, as being of the  Blood
Royal, by his mother; and the said Fergus was the first absolute king of  Scotland,
of the Milesian Race: so the succession continued in his blood and  lineage
ever since to this day."-- Four  Masters.
According to the Scottish chroniclers, it was A.D. 424, that Fergus Mor Mac
Earca went from Ireland to Scotland. Before him, the Milesian kings in that
country were kings only of that part of it called "Dalriada," of which Loarn,
the grandfather of Fergus Mor Mac Earca (Mac  Earca: Irish, son of Earca,
daughter of Loarn) was the last king (see  Part IX., c. iv. under "The Genealogy
of the Kings of Dalriada").
