1. Orjan Svensson: Hebrew-Phoenicians in Scandinavia
Shalom,

This is a book by Mr. Sven Nilsson published in Lund,
Sweden, in 1872.
The title is "Bronsåldern, Skandinaviska Nordens
ur-invånare" (= "The Bronze Age, the Original
Inhabitants of the Scandinavian North")
I was not aware about this book before.
Very interesting book...

Here are my English translations of some interesting
parts in the Introduction of this book:

"Everyone who makes a new discovery or a new
explanation of a previously known fact, should expect
criticism, and if he is self-confident then he should
wish to get it; because if the matter is correct, then
it goes unhurt and strengthened through the fire of
criticism; if it is incorrect it would better fall."

"The mistake to consider even the oldest bronze to be
domestic, existed for some time even amongst some
learned persons in Scandinavia; but this mistake has
ceased, since knowledge has been gained regarding the
relative age of our Nordic bronzes."

"And would it also be significant enough to know how
Mr. C. would like to explain the completely
corresponding similarity between the whole ornaments
of our Scandinavian bronzes and those we find in the
whole range of the Phoenician temple ruins from Paphos
to Gozzo? That there is a connection between them
cannot be denied, but no one should be able to assume
that they came from the North to the Near East
anciently, and not vice versa.

That there are no plants depicted on our Scandinavian
bronzes is considered by Mr. C. as sufficient in order
to establish that they are not of Phoenician origin:
but both Mr. Gerhard and Mr. de Witte as well as Mr.
Lenormant and others have through experience revealed,
as everyone can also now become convinced of, that
depictions of plants and animals never occur amongst
the oldest Phoenician ornaments, and that they only
were introduced there later through Assyrian and other
interference etc. Thus the lack of depictions of
animals and plants in our Scandinavian ornaments does
not prove that they are not Phoenician, like Mr. C.
says, but rather that they are very old and purely
Phoenician, without Assyrian and other influences.
These which do not exist on the Phoenician ruins from
Paphos to Gozzo, do first start to appear in Malt
amongst the less ancient ruins of Hagiar-chem, page
43, where a palm leaf is depicted, and even more in
Ireland, where a palm leaf is depicted amongst the
ruins of Newgrange and a lotus flower amongst the
ruins at Dowth."

"The border between Stone Age and Bronze Age I put at
the first appearance of a cutting weapon made of
bronze, i.e. this age starts at the first Semitic
invation or colonisation of Scandinavia."

"The Romans did never possess bronze, as far as I
know.....The Greeks received their bronze from the
Phoenicians, just like we received ours."

Regards,
Örjan

3. Cyrus as a model for the US?
Veteran followers of Brit-Am know that we believe the descendants of Joseph
(primarily the British and their offshoots and north Americans) to be represented
in Isaiah (44:28 45:1by the figure of Cyrus the Persian Ruler.
see especially:
http://britam.org/isaiah/chap-forty-five.html
We also spoke at length on this matter in our book "Joseph. The Israelite Destiny of America" where it is explained that
Cyrus came to represent the Messiah son of Joseph:

#5. Question about Cyrus and Moden Iran
President Truman in supporting the incipient State of Israel modelled himself on Cyrus.
Now the figure of Cyrus is being held up as a source of inspiration for US foreign policy
in an interesting article from the British newspaper THE GUARDIAN:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,5673,1564038,00.html
<<When Persian forces overran Babylonia in 539BC, the inhabitants surrendered peacefully. According to contemporary accounts, Cyrus was greeted as a liberator because of his just policies - and tough attitude to terrorists.>>

"When I entered Babylon I did not allow anyone to terrorise the land," a text known as the Cyrus Cylinder quotes him as saying. "I strove for peace in Babylon and all other sacred cities. I put an end to the inhabitants' misfortune."

4. Scottish Bank Notes
Interesting history of Scottish bank notes, which are now
threatened, apparently:
http://heritage.scotsman.com/ingenuity.cfm?id=1876402005
The article says that some people in England are hesitant about accepting
Scottish Bank Notes. This is just to let you know that Brit-Am in Jerusalem
has no such compunctions about Scotland or anywhere else.

5. Good Wishes
Shalom Yair! We love you and appreciate your work! Our prayers for you and your family. --GB

6. Arousal in Florida?
A good portion of our orders and offerings in the last two months
have come from different people in Florida who probably have no known connection
to each other.
This is unusual. Without this input we would now be in difficulties.
It has been a great blessing to us.
Is there something special about Florida at present?

7. Brit-Am Historical Research Conclusions Strengthened

(a) From Scythia to Germany to Britain
In our historical researches we explain how a good portion of the Exiled Ten
Tribes went firstly to areas like Central Asia and Southern Russia and from there moved westward.
We explain how the movement westward was in stages and that an important sequence occurred
in the period ca 200 CE to 450 CE the movement being from the east to Germany and from  there
to the west {Steven Collins basically agrees with us on this matter and has significant insights of his own).
If however someone wished to go beyond our detailed yet basic explanation and explore the matter further
he would find that nearly all recent reference works tell a different story.
The present conventional accounts more or less give the impression that all the so-called
"Germanic" (i.e. speakers of Germanic-tongues) peoples sprang up on their own out of the German forests and wastelands
and had never been anywhere else.
New archaeological evidence actually supports the Brit-Am explanation as we explained briefly with references in our work "The Tribes".
A  study that further confirms Brit-Am explanation now appears to have been recently academically accepted in Germany
[ „Stamm und Reich der frühen Thüringer nach den
Schriftquellen" (i.e. Folk/tribe and realm of the early Thuringians
according to historical sources) by Dr. Heike Grahn-Hoek,  in
Zeitschrift des Vereins für Thüringische Geschichte, Vol. 56 (2002).]
The study in effect says that the Thuringians were in effect Tervingi Goths who migrsated from
the Black Sea area to Central Germany. This occurred over a period of time but culminated in the
400s CE. They were federated with Warnians (Varni), Anglians (Angli)
and Suebians (Nordsuavi), and other groups who evidently migrated with them
and shortly afterwards participated in the Anglo-Saxon invasions of England.

#6. Tore Gannholm: Ancient Swedish Connections to the Middle East
we mentioned a Swedish Television program of interest.
An additional note on the program says:
<<There is a new Swedish televison program in three parts called
"Stenristarna"  (Those who carved in stone).
It shows that the Scandinavian bronze age started very suddenly about
1800 BC with a very high culture and the artifacts deteriorated in
quality over the centuries.
The earlier artifacts are almost identical with similar from the
Phoenicians and the pre-hellenic or Achaean culture in Mycaene. This is
interpreted as the Phoenicians established trading colonies here and
introduced there culture and gods. The god Baal later in Scandinavian
mythology known as Balder should have been introduced at that time.>>
