1. Results of Brit-Am Meeting
. Brit-Am held a Meeting in Jerusalem
Sunday (26.07.05) but due to a combination of circumstances very few people attended:
One person who very much had wanted to attend was sick and had just come out of hospital and could not come; another person is under house arrest for illegal demonstration; others were illegally demonstrating (?);
the announcement was not published by the Jerusalem Post even though it had been sent out well in time so less people knew about it; others who would have come were outside the city on that day;
the venue was more difficult than usual to get to; etc, etc.

Sometimes everything goes very well and at other times not so.
Anyway hopefully we will have another meeting soon.
Those who came to the meeting sat around talking with Rabbi Feld and his family and devoured the delicious light refreshments prepared for rather more people than were present and we renewed acquaintanceship.
The meeting was worth having and everyone there enjoyed it.

2. Does AEGEL meaning "Ephraim" represents BOTH the UK and USA??
At the meeting mentioned above, Rabbi Feld pointed out that in Chinese the word "Yank" (for American) is rendered as "eagle".
The USA is represented by an eagle.

The symbol of Ephraim is a bull-calf called "aegel" in Hebrew:

[Jeremiah 31:18] I HAVE SURELY HEARD EPHRAIM BEMOANING HIMSELF THUS; THOU HAST CHASTISED ME, AND I WAS CHASTISED,
AS A BULLOCK [Hebrew: AEGEL i.e. young bull] UNACCUSTOMED TO THE YOKE:
TURN THOU ME, AND I SHALL BE TURNED; FOR THOU ART THE LORD MY GOD.
The word used for "young bull" (i.e. "bullock") in Hebrew is "AEGEL". The word "aegel" in Ashkenazic Hebrew could be pronounced as "Angle".

Historically in DEurope this very name "Aegel" was a diminutive (favorite nickname) for the ethnic term "Angle".
The Angles gave England (i.e. "Angle-land") its name.
"England" may be understood to mean "Land of the Bull-Calf" and the English (and British in general?) are nicknamed "John Bull".
Together with the Saxons, Jutes, Vandals, and others the Angles conquered from the Celts the land that was later named England.
The Angles were also called "Aegels". The appellations "Angle" and "Aegel" were employed interchangeably.
The Hebrew word for young bull is "Aegel".
Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo Yistchaki 1040-1105 CE) was the foremost Medieval Jewish Commentator. In commentating on this verse (Jeremiah 31;18) Rashi states that the Hebrew word "Aegel" (Young Bull) was a name applied to Ephraim.
This was another name applied to the English.
The English now nickname themselves "John Bull".
This is an important point: the verse is strongly indicating that the English (Angles) are to be identified with Ephraim.

The USA is represented by an eagle
. The English word "eagle" transliterated into HEBREW LETTERS
[AYIN-GIMEL-LAMED]
can be spelt exactly the same way as the Hebrew word:
AEGEL
[AYIN-GIMEL-LAMED].

In English this may not mean very much. In Hebrew exegesis however similarity in the spelling of words nearly always indicates a linkage in the essence of the subjects represented by the words.

This was a point that came up by "chance" at the meeting.
It may or may not be significant. Take it or leave it.

3. Duncan Long: Additional Scottish-Hebrew Food Taboos?
From: Duncan Long
Subject: Quote about the Celts
Subject: Food taboos

Say, the note about the revision of articles at your site, and one being about Scottish food taboos, reminded me of something...
As a child, I was told that my grandfather (whose last name was "Duncan" -- which I inherited as my first name) had told my mother and her siblings that they should never drink milk with meat (including fish). Now the milk/fish thing had nothing to do with Mosaic food laws. However drinking milk with beef would. I don't know that this was necessarily a Scottish belief -- it might even have come from his reading of the Bible given that he was a Christian. But it might be something worth checking out to see if there's another link there.
Julius Caesar in his commentaries also had a brief passage talking about how the Celts kept rabbits for pets -- yet didn't eat them. Again this would connect to Jewish dietary practices (I believe... I don't think rabbits are "clean" since they chew cud but don't have hooves).
/Here's the section from Caesar's Commentaries (which can be found online at: http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/etcbin/toccer-new2?id=CaeComm.sgm&images=images/modeng&data=/texts/english/modeng/parsed&tag=public&part=1&division=div1 ).
Note the next to the last sentence. --Duncan

caes.gal.5.12"/: [5.12] The interior portion of Britain is inhabited by those of whom they say that it is handed down by tradition that they were born in the island itself: the maritime portion by those who had passed over from the country of the Belgae for the purpose of plunder and making war; almost all of whom are called by the names of those states from which being sprung they went thither, and having waged war, continued there and began to cultivate the lands. The number of the people is countless, and their buildings exceedingly numerous, for the most part very like those of the Gauls: the number of cattle is great. They use either brass or iron rings, determined at a certain weight, as their money. Tin is produced in the midland regions; in the maritime, iron; but the quantity of it is small: they employ brass, which is imported. There, as in Gaul, is timber of every description, except beech and fir. They do not regard it lawful to eat the hare, and the cock, and the goose; they, however, breed them for amusement and pleasure. The climate is more temperate than in Gaul, the colds being less severe.

4. Paul D Pruitt: An Arrow Drawn Through Stonehenge Points to Israel?

From: Paul D Pruitt
Subject:
Mr. David[iy],

I have been receiving the Brit-Am Now E-mails for a few months now and I think they are excellent. I have also read some of the books.
I am of English and Jewish ancestry. My father's father's English relatives came from Salisbury where Stonehenge is. You report that the Menhirs erected all across Europe are meant as way signs for the return trip to Israel as instructed in the Scriptures. I think you might be right. I was wondering if someone has researched Stonehenge? I'm attaching a picture of it from WikiMedia Commons (it's here too if the picture didn't come through http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Stonehenge_plan.jpg). The picture is oriented with North at the top, South at the bottom, East on the right and West on the left.
Now there is obviously an entrance in the upper right. Perhaps this is an indication of the direction where the Israelis came from to that spot in England. However in the upper left and the lower right there are also prominent stones. I was wondering if an arrow was drawn through them, down and to the right, would it hit Jerusalem? Do you know of research about this? Can you or a geographically minded person answer this question? Stonehenge is at SU123422 in the British Grid System and 51.178904N Longitude: 1.825418W.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Paul D Pruitt

Paul Shalom,
Salisbury is on the Avon River which in Ancient Times was known as the Alaunus, though "Avon" is also a Hebrew term possibly connoting "plane".
To the west is the Exe River known formerly as the ISACA. and a bit further west is the TAMAR River which name existed before the Romans.
See Ptolemy's map of Britain in "The Tribes" p.300
Regarding your question I cannot answer it but maybe amongst our subscribers there is someone who can or who has an idea on the subject.

5. Jay: Star of David - A Hexagon

Dear Mr. Davidiy:
The Star of David is know by some as the "Hex of Solomon", hex being an abbreviation for hexagram. When you join all of the outside points with straight lines, the result is a hexagon.

If the diameter of a hexagon is 1 inche then the distance around the hexagon is 3 inches. This can be expanded to the "molten sea" made of bronze by Hiram (I Kings 7: 23), which was 10 cubits in diameter and 30 cubits around. It was 5 cubits "high", which I interpret to be 5 cubits deep. The dimensions given describe half of a dodecahedron or half of a three dimensional star of David.

Here is some additional information, the hexagon is the only approximation of a circle where the pi (3.141) ratio is an even number. According to one scholar this approximation of pi was all that Solomon knew. Another author, however, has pointed out that the two pillars, Jachin and Boaz were 22 cubits high, excluding the uppermost 5 cubit high capitals. The pillars were 7 cubits apart (see verse 17), thus the pi ratio of 22/7, which is the best approximation of pi in even numbers. I realise this could be pure imagination given the obscurity of these verses. They must be clearer to one who understands Hebrew. Jay

6. Letter from William F. Dankenbring
Dear Yair:
Greetings from our new location in the small town of Omak, Washington. I am enclosing a copy of my new book America and Great Britain - Our Identity Revealed. I hope you will find it engrossing, inspiring, cogent, and helpful in understanding better the case for Ephraim largely being the United States of America. I hope you find many pleasurable hours in reading it and savoring its contents.

My best wishes and prayers with you and your work. May God bless, guide and direct you as you yield yourself to Him and continue seeking His truth.
Sincerely,
William F. Dankenbring.

Brit-Am Comment: The book looks good. A review by us should be available shortly.

7. Proverbs 3:22-28: Hillel, King Alfred, Churchill, and the Man from China

[Proverbs 3:22] SO SHALL THEY BE LIFE UNTO THY SOUL, AND GRACE TO THY NECK.
"THY SOUL": Hebrew: "Nafshecha" also translaeable as "your psyche", "your mind". The words of the Bible give you life and vitality and renewal of mind. They cause you to feel better and to look better in the eyes of others like a handsome pendant hang on a necklace around your neck.

[Proverbs 3:23] THEN SHALT THOU WALK IN THY WAY SAFELY, AND THY FOOT SHALL NOT STUMBLE.
The Bible helps your mind "clear itself up". It causes you to be more at peace with yourself and sure of your way. This has an effect in practical terms in that you are less likely to make mistakes and you do not stumble in your path.

[Proverbs 3:24] WHEN THOU LIEST DOWN, THOU SHALT NOT BE AFRAID: YEA, THOU SHALT LIE DOWN, AND THY SLEEP SHALL BE SWEET. Go in the way of the Bible and sooner or later things will work out. At the least they should become much much better than they otherwise would be. You will be able to live your life well and lie down to rest without fear of the morrow.

[Proverbs 3:25] BE NOT AFRAID OF SUDDEN FEAR, NEITHER OF THE DESOLATION OF THE WICKED, WHEN IT COMETH.

[Proverbs 3:26] FOR THE LORD SHALL BE THY CONFIDENCE, AND SHALL KEEP THY FOOT FROM BEING TAKEN.

[Proverbs 3:27] WITHHOLD NOT GOOD FROM THEM TO WHOM IT IS DUE, WHEN IT IS IN THE POWER OF THINE HAND TO DO IT.
If you can help someone who deserves your help do not put off helping them. If you owe someone money and have it with you pay them. We all have a tendency to delay things or to put off doing a good turn for others. This attitude is liable to harm others as well as ourselves.
It says in the Bible, "Love your neighbor as yourself".
The Talmudic sage Hillel (ca. 20 BCE ??) and the English King Alfred (849-899 CE), as reported by W.S. Churchill in his History of the English-Speaking Peoples, both interpreted this verse as saying:
"What you do not want others to do to you, do not do to them".
[A Chinese philosopher, whose name I have forgotten but who lived earlier than either of the above two though his doctrine may have been recorded later, is accredited with uttering the same injunction. Some things are universal?]

"THOU SHALT NOT AVENGE, NOR BEAR ANY GRUDGE AGAINST THE CHILDREN OF THY PEOPLE, BUT THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF: I AM THE LORD" [Leviticus 19:18].

[Proverbs 3:28] SAY NOT UNTO THY NEIGHBOUR, GO, AND COME AGAIN, AND TO MORROW I WILL GIVE; WHEN THOU HAST IT BY THEE.
