1. The "Meshech
and Tubal"
Scroll fiasco: Assessment The Scroll presented by Rabbi Richman referred to President Bush as:
"Esteemed Mr. George W. Bush, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Ezekiel
38:1), leader of the west!"
This was a mistake.
It was a mistake not so much necessarily as concerns President Bush but as
concerning the American People he rules over and represents. It implies that these people are descended from
Meshech and Tubal.
This could be taken as insulting and misleading.
It was however not intended to be offensive.
The author(s) of the Scroll Message were concerned for their children and
families, for the State of Israel and for the Jewish people as a whole.
That was why they wrote it and that was supposed to be its primary message.
It was designed to draw the attention of others and hopefully even that of the
US President and persuade them not to sell Israel out.
Nevertheless,
The people responsible deal in Public Relations on a full-time basis and also have many and frequent contact with Ephraimites and American Christians in
general.
They should have known that the expression used was inadmissible.
They slipped up.
The fuss about the expression is clouding the overall message they intended to
promote as well as drawing some attention to it.
To expect an apology however would be self-defeating. Not everybody is sensitive on these issues.

Ephraim going to Mitsraim (Egypt or Russia) and Assyria (Germany, the EU?) for
alliance is a mistake. It will end in disaster. Ephraim was meant to be alone
and subdue all adversaries. The Divine Protection that was given him and the
special talents he was imbued with to fulfill his destined role are misdirected
when Ephraim strays from God. Ephraim quarrels with Judah concerning the nature
of the Almighty and the validity of the Law. Ephraim is a devious merchant, a
"nation of shopkeepers". When Ephraim returns he will dwell in tents just as
many of the Jews did after 1948. Ephraim links to "Aram" meaning the Scythians.
They will be keepers of sheep and cattle. Prophecy will be restored and a
Prophet will arise to lead Ephraim back.

Dear Yair, I was a little concerned, but not at all offended when I heard about
the "scroll", but thank G-d there are some very intelligent people at, and
associated with Brit Am. Perhaps this is a sign we should re-double our efforts
to show support for Israel and not jump to conclusions so hastily ?
