SUMMIT OF CHRISTIAN AND JEWISH ZIONISTS CONVENES IN WASHINGTON MAY 17-18

The Interfaith Zionist Leadership Summit - a broad-based
conference of Jewish and Christian Zionists - will convene at the Omni
Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, May 17-18.

Sponsored by Zionist House (Boston-based, founded in the late
1940s) with the National Unity Coalition for Israel, the Summit's
co-sponsors include the Zionist Organization of America, Americans for a
Safe Israel, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA),
Christians Israel Public Action Campaign, The Apostolic Congress, Christian
Coalition of America and the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem. A
complete list of co-sponsors is included in the attached ad.

The summit will be addressed by such distinguished authorities -
concerned for both Israel's future and America's national interests -- as
former Ambassador Alan Keyes, Janet Parshall, Gary Bauer, JINSA President
Tom Neumann, Middle East expert Daniel Pipes, American Enterprise Institute
scholar Michael Ledeen, Christian Coalition of America President Roberta
Combs and Joe Farah, editor of WorldNetdaily.com. A full list of speakers is
available at www.zionistleadership.com.

Panel discussions will cover such timely issues as: The Road Map
for an Imposed Settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict, -- Islam and
Terrorism -- A Palestinian State, U.S. Security and Israel's Future -- Media
Ignorance and Bias in Coverage of the Middle East -- Confronting
Anti-Zionism and Anti-Semitism on the College Campus -- The Occupied
Territories and Other Canards -- and Forging a Jewish-Christian Alliance for
Israel.

Organizers expect the Summit to be attended by more than 1,000
leaders and activists, who will formulate future strategy for the growing
coalition of Christian and Jewish Zionists. At the conclusion of the Iraq
war, it's crucial for Israel's friends in the Christian and Jewish
communities to unite to assure that the Jewish state is not put in mortal
danger to appease the Arab world and its partisans. That ultimately would
not serve U.S. national interests in the region or worldwide.

DROP IN ROAD ACCIDENT FATALITIES
The Central Bureau of Statistics reports that the number of fatal accidents in 2002 dropped 4% in comparison to the year before, down to a total of 456. The total number of accidents, which had decreased for four consecutive years, increased in 2002, but the number of serious accidents has dropped 38% over the past seven years. Pedestrians comprised 34% of the victims, half of whom were hit while crossing on a crosswalk. Drivers up to age 24 were 1.5 times more likely to have an accident than others.

MISSING CARBON DIOXIDE GREENS UP THE DESERT
A Weizmann Institute study suggests that rising carbon dioxide levels in the world might help upgrade dry environments to valuable forests. In fact, the researchers think that 7 billion tons of unaccounted-for carbon dioxide, may be the explanation for the expansion of forests into dry areas. A group of scientists headed by Prof. Dan Yakir of Weizmann Institute's Environmental Sciences and Energy Department found that the Yatir Forest, planted at the edge of the Negev Desert 35 years ago, is expanding at an unexpected rate. Their findings, published in the current issue of Global Change Biology, suggest that forests in other parts of the globe could also be expanding into arid lands, absorbing carbon dioxide in the process.

What's the connection between carbon dioxide and forest growth? Yakir's team says that the answer might be found in the way plants address one of their eternal dilemmas. Plants need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis - but to obtain it, they must open pores in their leaves, consequently losing large quantities of water to evaporation. The plant must decide which it needs more: water or carbon dioxide. Yakir suggests that the 30% increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide since the start of the industrial revolution eases the plant's dilemma - because the plant need open its pores only slightly to receive the necessary amount of carbon dioxide, thus causing it to lose less water. This efficient water preservation technique keeps moisture in the ground, allowing forests to grow in areas that previously were too dry.

The scientists hope the study will help identify new arable lands and counter desertification trends in vulnerable regions.

The Suicide Bombing Attacks in Saudi Arabia: A Preliminary Assessment
Dore Gold

[Excerpt Only]:
The suicide bombings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that left more than 90 dead -
including 7-10 U.S. citizens - should not have come as a surprise. There has
been increasing evidence that al-Qaeda, which took credit for the attack,
has viewed the Saudi kingdom as one of its main areas of refuge since the
U.S. victory against the Taliban in Afghanistan, for a number of reasons:

1. Historically, al-Qaeda grew from Saudi roots. Its founder, Osama
bin Laden, used Saudi charities as one of the primary conduits for its
initial funding.

2. This relationship lasted well into the late 1990s and beyond. A CIA
document dated in 1996 noted that more than one-third of the Islamic
non-governmental organizations then existing were involved in terrorist
funding; the report, in fact, implicated officially-backed Saudi Arabian
charities.
A CIA interrogation of a captured al-Qaeda operative as recently as 2002 demonstrated that another huge
official Saudi charity, al-Haramain, was the primary conduit for funding
al-Qaeda in Southeast Asia.3 The State Department's Office of
Counterterrorism's outgoing director, Dick Gannon, claimed in late 1998: "We
've got information about who's backing bin Laden and in a lot of cases it
goes back to the [Saudi] royal family."4 Some radical Saudi princes backed
al-Qaeda out of identification with its anti-Western ideology, while other
support came in the form of protection money to keep al-Qaeda from attacking
the royal family.

3. Parts of Saudi Arabia, particularly the mountainous southwestern
area near the Yemeni border, are ideal hideouts for al-Qaeda.

In fact, Yemeni authorities have reiterated in the Arab press that Saudi Arabia was emerging
in 2002-2003 as a new al-Qaeda center.
A number of significant al-Qaeda suspects wanted by authorities in
Germany and the U.S. are known to have fled to Saudi Arabia to seek
sanctuary.

4. Given years of anti-Western incitement in the Saudi religious
educational system, Saudi Arabia is probably the most sympathetic location
for al-Qaeda members to hide.

5. Given the sympathy for al-Qaeda in some
official circles and among members of the Saudi population, it is
understandable that Saudi Arabia has been unable to implement a full-scale
crackdown.

6. al-Qaeda is committed to war against the West and to its
collapse as its primary objective, and not to a U.S. pullout from Saudi
Arabia alone.

7. Through successful diplomacy, and public relations, Saudi Arabia
has managed to divert attention away from its role in harboring al-Qaeda,

Mideast March of Folly
David Ben-Ariel Toledo, Ohio, USA/Menashe (13 May 2003)
<mailto:David%20Ben-Ariel%20%3Cdbenariel@aol.com%3E>dbenariel@aol.com

If Israel concedes to a "Palestinian" state it would constitute "a hideous act of self-mutilation" (to borrow a phrase from Churchill). Such an Amakelite entity on the biblical lands of Judea and Samaria would surely incur divine wrath (Numbers 33:55) - whether or not the Hellenists and humanists pushing such a plot believe it. If Israel self-righteously refuses to destroy the threat to their existence, such a terrorist state will further destabilize and destroy them (Dan. 9:11).

Israel has failed to follow the old military maxim to "never reinforce failure." Hence the treacherous Oslo accords have followed in succession with more dangerous cessions of the Promised Land of Israel to Ishmael! Israel's deaf, dumb and blind leaders have ignored every warning issued by Churchillians, seduced by Chamberlain-like false prophets offering visions of a lying peace. Does President Bush, a professing Bible-believer, really want to follow the Mideast March of Folly? Does he truly want the Jewish people to follow his misleading road map like sheep to the slaughter? Doesn't he realize that it's a death march? The end result of Israel's appeasement policy will be the end of Israel's independence and the beginning of European occupation posed as "peacekeepers."

Subject: "Shock and Awe"--1945
Shock and Awe1945
Prof. Paul Eidelberg

In the Prologue of Victor David Hanson, The Soul of Battle (Free Press, 1999), we read:
&on March 9, 1945, a 400-mile trail of 334 B-29s left their Marianas bases, 3,500 newly trained airmen crammed in among the napalm. The gigantic planes each carried ten tons of the newly invented jellied gasoline incendiaries.& Planes flew over [Tokyo] in small groups of three, a minute apart&. Five-hundred-pound incendiary clusters fell every 50 feet. Within thirty minutes, a 28-mile-per-hour ground wind sent the flames roaring out of control. Temperatures approached 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit&. [Air Force head General Curtis] LeMay wished to destroy completely the material and psychological capital of the Japanese people, on the brutal, theory that once civilians had tasted what their soldiers had done to others, only then might their murderous armies crack&. People would not show up to work to fabricate artillery shells that killed Americans when there was no work to show up to. Solders who kill, rape, and torture do so less confidently when their own families are at risk at home&.

Over 80,000 Japanese died outright; 400,918 were injured; 267,171 buildings were destroyed. One million Japanese were homeless&. Unfortunately for the Japanese, the March 9 raid was the beginning, not the end, of LeMays incendiary campaign. He sensed that his momenta truly deadly man in charge of a huge democratic force free of government constrainthad at last arrived, as the imperial Japanese command was stunned and helpless&. There was no public objection to LeMays burning down the industrial and residential center of the Japanese empiretoo many stories about Japanese atrocities toward the subjugated peoples and prisoners of war had filtered back to the American people. To a democratic nation in arms, an enemys unwarranted aggression and murder is everything, the abject savagery of it own retaliatory response apparently nothing&.

LeMay had thousands of recruits, deadly new planes, and a blank check to do whatever his bombers could accomplish. Over 10,000 young Americans were now eager to work to exhaustion to inflict even more destruction. Quickly he upped the frequency of missions, sending his airmen out at the unheard-of rate of 120 hours per monththe Eighth Air Force based in England had usually flown a maximum of 30 hours per monthas they methodically burned down within ten days Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, and Osaka before turning to smaller cities&.

In revenge for the unprovoked but feeble attack at Pearl Harbor on their country, American farmers, college students, welders, and mechanics of a year past were now preparedand quite ableto ignite the entire island of Japan& Their gigantic bombers often flew faster than did the sleek Japanese fighters sent up to shoot them down. Japanese military leaders could scarcely grasp that in a matter of months colossal runways had appeared out of nowhere in the Pacific to launch horrendous novel bombers more deadly than any aircraft in history, commanded by a general as fanatical as themselves, and manned by teenagers and men in their early twenties more eager to kill even than Japans own feared veterans. So much for the myth that decadent pampered Westerners were ill equipped for the savagery of all-out war&.

For much of my life I have wondered where such a murderous force of a season came from. And how a democracy made a willing killer out of my father and other farm boys, putting them into the hands of an unhinged zealot like LeMay, who ostensibly was neither emblematic of a democratic citizenry nor representative of the values that we purportedly cherish. Or was he? & How in less than a year after being assembled can a motley group of young recruits fly the most lethal bombers in history to incinerate a feared imperial militaristic culture six thousand miles from their own home? And how can that most murderous air force in the world nearly disappear into the anonymity and amnesia of democracy six months after its victory?

Those thoughts are the easy anxieties of the desk-bound class. I have come to realize that Curtis LeMay and my father are stock types, not aberrations, of the democratic society that produced them. Democracy, and its twin of market capitalism, alone can instantaneously create lethal armies out of civilians, equip them with horrific engines of war, imbue them with near-messianic zeal within a set time and place to exterminate what they understand as evil, have them follow to their defeats the most ruthless of men, and then melt anonymously back into the culture that produced them. It is democracies, which in the right circumstances, can be imbued with the soul of battle, and thus turn the horror of killing to a higher purpose of saving lives and freeing the enslaved&.

[M]y father spoke highly of [LeMay]&. The bastard shortened the war against evil, my father told me. You were all lucky, he went on, once to have had angry men like LeMay and us in the air. We flew into the fire, he said, because we believed that we were saving more lives than we took&

Democracies, I thinkif the cause, if the commanding general, if the conditions of time and space take on their proper meaningfor a season can produce the most murderous armies from the most unlikely men, and do so in the pursuit of something spiritual rather than the mere material."

HANEGBI: JEWS TO PRAY SOON (AS INDIVIDUALS) ON TEMPLE MOUNT
Public Security Minister Tzachi HaNegbi announced in the Knesset last night that, "soon, very soon," Jews would be permitted once again to visit the Temple Mount. He said that Jews would be allowed to "pray individually" at the holy site, in accordance with the status quo between 1967 and 2000.

The last Jew to publicly visit the site was Ariel Sharon, who, as a Likud MK in late September 2000, made a well-publicized visit to the site. His purpose was to protest then-Prime Minister Barak's willingness to cede the area as part of a peace agreement with the PLO. The PA used the occasion to break out its previously-planned war of terrorism; PA official Imad Faluji said on March 2, 2001 that the violence "had been planned since Chairman Arafat's return from Camp David [in the summer of 2000]." The Temple Mount has been closed to Jewish worshipers and Israeli visitors ever since, under the threat of more Arab violence.

The Waqf, the Muslim religious trust that essentially runs the site, was not moved by HaNegbi's announcement. "The Arab standpoint, the Waqf standpoint, is that there is no change in the decision of not allowing non-Muslims to enter the place," Waqf director Adnan Husseini told Voice of Israel this morning.

Minister HaNegbi responded in the Knesset last night to a Knesset query by Arab MK Abdel Malek Dahamshe, who asked for clarifications about Jerusalem Police Chief Mickey Levy's recent declaration that the Temple Mount would soon be opened to Jews. "There is no justification for the veto on the entry of Christians and Jews to the Temple Mount," HaNegbi said. "Any attempt to intimidate by the use of violence will not be tolerated."

He added that the government would attempt to reach an agreement with the Moslem Waqf, "but if there can be no agreement, then we will do so unilaterally." He said that Jewish entry to its most sacred site in the world is "the correct, moral, and logical thing."

Even if the government permits Jewish entry to the holy site, several aspects of the issue will remain unresolved. Jewish Law forbids entry to the site of the Holy Temple as long as the Red Heifer sacrifice cannot be brought and Jews are still ritually impure. However, there are certain areas of the Mount that are not included in this ban. Some rabbis say that Jews may - nay, should - enter these areas, after immersing themselves in a ritual bath and taking other precautions. Others, however, backed by the Chief Rabbinate, say that to ensure that this grave prohibition is not mistakenly violated, Jews should not ascend to the Temple Mount at all.

Take That, Inquisitors
By Michael Freund
[Extracts]:

Queen Isabella of Spain must be turning over in her grave.

Five centuries after the Spanish despot sought to erase all vestiges of Jewish life on the Iberian peninsula, a growing number of her victims' descendants are now emerging from the shadows, seeking to reclaim their long-lost heritage.

One such person is Nuria Guasch Vidal, whose ancestors were forcibly converted to Catholicism in Spain. At great personal risk, her forefathers secretly preserved their cherished, yet hidden, Jewish identity, handing it down from one generation to the next, clandestinely defying the Spanish Inquisition and its henchmen.

From the records of the Inquisition, we know that its practitioners employed an array of dastardly tools designed to ferret out and quash any remaining Jewish embers in Spain. Torture, informants, denunciations and public executions were part and parcel of the reign of terror they imposed on anyone suspected of "relapsing" to Judaism.

According to historian Cecil Roth, over 30,000 so-called Judaizers were put to death by the Inquisitorial zealots in Spain and Portugal, many of them burned alive at the stake in front of cheering crowds of onlookers, while hundreds of thousands of others were tried and convicted by its courts for following Jewish practices.

Most people probably don't realize it, but the Inquisition continued functioning for centuries, hunting down "secret Jews" as far afield as Angola and South America. It was only in the 19th century that the persecutions were formally stopped.

"Since history began, perhaps," writes Roth in his seminal work, A History of the Marranos, " in no spot on the earth's surface has so systematic and so protracted a persecution ever been perpetrated for so innocent a cause."

This past Sunday, however, the sad and tragic journey of Nuria's forebears finally came to a happy end. Together with her husband Edward, Nuria went before a rabbinical court in Jerusalem, which formally welcomed them back to the people of Israel.

What Ferdinand and Isabella, Spain's 15th century monarchs, had sought to demolish through Inquisition and expulsion, Nuria was determined to bring back to life.

Her return to Judaism was the culmination of a spiritual quest, one that led her and her husband to study with an Orthodox rabbi in Barcelona who embraced them and received them with warmth and understanding.

Slowly but surely they made Judaism the focal point of their lives, adopting the rituals and lifestyle of traditional Jews. They now attend synagogue regularly, observe the Sabbath and keep kosher.

Nuria has even organized a local group of activists, who took upon themselves the thankless task of defending Israel's good name in the local Spanish media, where the Jewish state comes under frequent, and rather fierce, attack from its critics.

After the rabbinical court judges accepted them, Nuria decided to become "Nurit", and Edward took the name of "Yitzchak", after the Biblical patriarch who was nearly sacrificed on the altar, only to be saved at the last minute by Divine intervention. He couldn't have chosen a more fitting name.

Across Spain and the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, there are untold thousands, possibly more, who still carry this spark within them, longing to return to their people, to come home again to the faith and beliefs that were so cruelly torn away from them over the centuries.

The Jewish people owe it to them and to their ancestors to recognize the anguish and suffering they have endured and to facilitate their return.

The descendants of the Anousim (Hebrew for "those who were coerced") are grappling with profound issues of identity, history and faith. They should not have to do so on their own.

When so many young Jews are leaving the fold, Israel now has an opportunity to recover countless numbers of its long-lost brethren. From Spain to Brazil to the southwestern United States, the number of Anousim coming out into the open is surging.

The time has come to welcome them back home.

4. LOST ISRAELITE QUALIFICATIONS

The Criteria Listed above for determining which nations are descended from the ancient Israelites are:
1. A Relative Lack of Anti-Semitism.
2. The Doing of Justice Implying Social Empathy and Responsibility.
3.Possessors of Military Prowess.
4.Intellectual Wisdom and Innovative Tendencies.
5.Economic and Physical Blessings.
6.Archaeological and Physical Proofs.
7.Biblical Evidence.

All of the ABOVE necessary signs are to be found in those identified nations mentioned
above. They apply to the nations concerned as a whole over a period of time. They are not necessarily to be found in every individual of Israelite descent. In addition the Jews had traditions of their own that serve to confirm the
identifications made.

1, Arnold Roth: A wake-up call: What's the peace vision of these barbarians?
2. Syria Must Go
3. Remember Australia Helped Liberate "Palestine"
4. Israel is the solution

Dear friends:

I speak publicly more and more frequently about the experience my family and I have gone through since our daughter Malka Chana z"l was murdered 21 months ago in Jerusalem. It sometimes happens that a person in the audience will ask me a question along the following lines: "The Arabs kill the Jews' children, the Jews kill the Arabs' children. There's so much hatred. It can't keep going that way. How can peace ever happen if you Israelis don't change your tough attitude?"

I try to explain how very different the Jewish attitude is from this alleged "cycle of violence" mentality. I say to such questioners that we hope for peace, pray for it every day, educate our children towards it. We see the Arab leadership as having made catastrophic mistakes - teaching its children to hate, turning them into barbarians and robbing them of their future and of their human dignity. I say that Israel's obligation to its own people is to seek peace -- and to first ensure security, protecting our towns, our kindergartens, our pizza restaurants.

All too often, my words seem to fall on deaf ears. For many people, this is all just too complicated. They seem to find it easier, less challenging, to think of this Palestinian Arab war as being one fought between two troubled sides, each bearing roughly the same degree of blame.

Every so often, we get to look through a window that's normally closed -- a window that is revealing for those who are ready to take the trouble to understand. Here's such a window, one which provides insight into the base truth about what's going on in this war... a war waged by Arab barbarians and thugs who have hijacked the language of nationhood, of liberation, of human rights.

Read now the words of Dr Mahmoud Zahar, the senior spokesperson for Hamas who was interviewed in the BBC by Tim Sebastian on location in Gaza for the Hardtalk TV program on 20th May 2003. Part of the interview has been transcribed in full below - the whole thing can be viewed online at <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/3043915.stm>news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/3043915.stm

To remind you, Hamas is the organization which carried out the massacre at the Sbarro restaurant on 9th August 2001 in which my daughter Malki, her best friend and thirteen other innocent children, teens, mothers and other civilians were cold-bloodedly murdered by a barbarian thug and a long, long line of their henchmen. (For the record, there remain serious observers like the Telegraph newspaper in the UK which persist in describing Hamas as "a legitimate resistance movement bent on liberating Palestinian land". You can see this under the heading: "The Islamic groups dedicated to change" online at www.portal.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2001/09/17/wsas317.xml)

Please consider sharing this with others. Think particularly of friends with views like those of the well-known Australian journalist who told me his interview with me in August 2001 needed to be part of a double-headed interview -- the murderer's father on one side, me on the other -- on the grounds that that man's son's suicide death and my daughter's murder were, as he put it, two sides of the same coin. (The interview did not take place.)

Let's do what we can to explode the abhorrent nonsense of a cycle of violence. The lives of innocent Israelis depend on it.

Good wishes,
Arnold Roth

TS: Dr. Zahar, I asked you a very simple question, if Israel accepts your conditions which are calling for the elimination of the occupation and an end for the Palestinian suffering will you renounce violence totally? Yes or no?

MZ: We are going to cease fire, and only cease-fire.

TS: Yes or no to that condition - yes or no?

MZ: I answered you - it's not the way to say yes or no. We are not -

TS: so how can Israel trust your assurances ever if you can't even give a straight answer to a straight question? How can they trust you?

MZ: The question is -

TS: If Israel withdraws -

MZ: If they withdraw from our land, if Israel is ready to say that we are not going to re-attack, and re-occupy our country -

TS: If they said that&

MZ: It's a big if - it's just imagination - they are not going to, they did that before. They occupied our country in '48, they occupied our area in '56, they occupied our area in '67, they occupied in '82, so the history is telling us that with Israel, it is impossible to stop their aggression.

TS: What you're telling me then there are no circumstances in which you will give up violence until you ve pushed Israel into the sea, that's what you want, isn't it?

MZ: I'm not saying that -

TS: You are saying that, aren't you??

MZ: I'm giving you it frankly - the attitude of Islam is not to accept a foreign state in this area

TS: Until Israel ceases to exist, you won't lay down your arms, is that right?

MZ: First of all we are a part of a Pan-Islamic state

TS: Yes or no?? I am asking you a very fair and straight question

MZ: I am giving you what is the attitude of thousands of, millions of people here

TS: But you won't give me a straight answer to a straight question

MZ: Because this will not be implemented, an independent state will be a small part in what is called a Pan-Islamic state; it will be in part with Jordan, with Syria, with Egypt

TS: Why do you keep on with this attitude? You are seen by many people in the world as a bunch of ruthless killers and fanatics. Are you happy with that?

MZ: We are not happy. These people are not seeing except the fault. These people are considering Islam as their enemy, as terrorists, this is a historical mistake. Because Islam is the supreme power in this area. Sooner or later we are going to achieve our power, our moral principle, our virtue in order to augment the (Islamic) state

TS: What with? What are you going to achieve it with? Explosives strapped onto a suicide bomber, you really think that is going to help you achieve your ends?

Subject: HAMAS RUNS INSURGENCY OPERATIONS FROM SYRIA

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Hamas has employed its offices in Syria for the
financing and planning of insurgency operations, a new report says.

The report by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy said Hamas
leaders use their Damascus headquarters for the planning of major operations
against Israel. The report, authored by Matthew Levitt, said Hamas leaders
in Damascus have acknowledged their central role in insurgency operations.

The report cited a statement from the late Hamas military commander Salah
Shehada in the Gaza Strip. Shehada, who was assassinated last year in an
Israeli air attack in Gaza City, had asserted that "the political apparatus
is sovereign over the military apparatus, and a decision of the political
[echelon] takes precedence over the decision of the military [echelon],
without intervening in military operations."

TRANSCRIPT OF THE PRIME MINISTER THE HON JOHN HOWARD MP PRESS CONFERENCE UNITED NATIONS, NEW YORK

JOURNALIST:

You spoke about the Israeli-Arab conflict a little while ago. Australia is now involved in Iraq in many

different ways. You're a long way from home, aren't you?

PRIME MINISTER:

Well Australians are used to travelling.

JOURNALIST:

I mean you're a long way from home. The Middle East is not traditionally a place Australia has been involved in.

PRIME MINISTER:

Actually, historically that is not so. Through some of the twists and turns of history, this is not the first time Australian forces have been involved in that part of the world. In fact we were involved in that part of the world, what the Americans would call the last cavalry charge of World War I, was carried out by the Australian Lighthorse on Beersheeba.

We were involved there, and we were involved in Syria and other parts of the Middle East in World War II. We've had peacekeepers in Gaza Strip, and so it's not a first but we take a very strong view that dealing with the twin challenges of rogue states and weapons of mass destruction is a worldwide responsibility, and we got involved in Iraq for good and proper reasons and we don't resile in any way from that commitment.

4. Israel is the solution

Its no secret that President Bush enjoys broad support from conservative, evangelical Christians. Since 9-11 and the war on terror, he has been gaining much broader support from the Jewish vote as well. Last week, a prominent group of evangelical leaders sent President Bush a letter warning him of the dangers of the roadmap.

As word spead of the likelihood that the Israeli cabinet would approve the roadmap, as they did today, the well-organized conservative Christian lobby has prepared for action, alongside their Jewish counterparts. House Republican leader, Tom DeLay, speaking to Jewish political activists in Washington last week, said, Israel is not the problem in the Middle East. Israel is the solution.

You can expect to see increased activity among the pro-Israel Christian Zionists in the wake of todays vote. If you have opportunity to make your voice heard on behalf of Israel, please do so.

"THE SOLUTION IS FOUND IN THE TORAH"
Arutz-7's Haggai Segal asked a leading Yesha rabbi, Rabbi Eliezer Melamed of Har Brachah, if he agrees with Sharon that the "conquest is bad." "I agree that it's bad," the rabbi responded, "and the solution for this problem is provided in the Torah: Whoever loves us, and believes in our right to this land, can live here, and then will not feel that he is under conquest. Whoever doesn't recognize our rights, shouldn't live here. This is the solution."

Arutz-7: "But the Prime Minister could say that he might even agree with you, but that we presently don't have the strength to impose that solution - such that the bottom line is that they are under our occupation."

Rabbi Melamed: "True, it's not easy - but every long trip begins with the first few steps: by declaring that these our intentions, and by taking strong measures against terrorist families, and proceeding from there, step by step... It [appears] that the only way to solve the problems here is by Arab emigration, such as happened [with transfers of population] in World War II. Most of the Arabs in Yesha do not want to live in peace with us, so we have to continually remind the world that in Saudi Arabia, for example, there is plenty of oil and plenty of space, and that there is no reason that they should not help out their poor brothers... Israel should also offer to help in these efforts... I simply do not see any other solution to this problem. To give a state to the Palestinians is simply pushing off the war for another few months, and then it will just be harder for us."

1. U.S. MULLED SERIES OF SANCTIONS AGAINST ISRAEL [arms ban threat]
From: imra@netvision.net.il
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Bush administration has prepared a list of
sanctions against Israel should it refuse to comply with a plan for a
Palestinian state by the end of the year.

The roadmap, drafted by Washington as well as the European Union,
United Nations and Russia, calls for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian war
and the establishment of an interim state in 2003.

A congressional source close to the
administration said. "The White House doesn't regard the roadmap merely as
foreign policy. It sees the roadmap as a major element toward the reelection
of the president."

2. Americans oppose settlement freeze 61%:13%
Sender: imra-owner@imra.org.il

NEW POLL: BY 61%-13%, AMERICANS OPPOSE ROAD MAP'S FREEZE ON JEWISH
CONSTRUCTION IN JUDEA-SAMARIA & GAZA

NEW YORK - By a margin of nearly five to one, Americans oppose the Road
Map's prohibition against further Jewish construction in Judea-Samaria (the
West Bank) and Gaza, according to a new national poll.

Morton A. Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America
(ZOA), said: "The Bush administration's Road Map plan, which calls for
freezing Jewish construction and later expelling Jewish residents from the
territories, is clearly at odds with the views of most Americans. The vast
majority of Americans understand that preventing Jews from building or
living in those areas, while permitting Arabs to build and live there, is
ethnic discrimination. And that is morally outrageous and un-American."

The poll, carried out by John McLaughlin & Associates, was carried out among
a scientific sample of 1,000 American adults on May 21, 2003. It found:

* 61% Say Jewish Construction in Territories Should be Permitted:

* 63% Say Jews Should Be Allowed to Live in Territories:

* Only 10% Say "Settlements" Are Main Obstacle to Peace:

* 64% Oppose Expelling Jews from the Territories:

* Almost 2-1 Say Jews Have Strongest Historical Claim to Land: Asked whether
the Jews or the Arabs have "the strongest historical claim" to Judea-Samaria
and Gaza, 31.1% said the Jews; only 18.8% said the Arabs (the remainder were
undecided or declined to answer).
* * *
The Zionist Organization of America, founded in 1897, is the oldest
pro-Israel organization in the United States. The ZOA works to strengthen
U.S.-Israel relations, educates the American public and Congress about the
dangers that Israel faces, and combats anti-Israel bias in the media and on
college campuses. Its past presidents have included Supreme Court Justice
Louis Brandeis and Rabbi Dr. Abba Hillel Silver.

to develop nuclear weapons.

Free the Slaves Now, Sudanese Leader Demands
Enslavement of Over 200,000 Estimated

Freedom Now News interviewed Commissioner James Lual of Gogrial County,
northern Bahr El Ghazal, Southern Sudan, on May 26, 2003. Commissioner Lual is
the head of the SPLM Civil Administration in Gogrial County, which is one of
the areas severely affected by Sudanese Government sponsored slave raids over
the past two decades.

Freedom Now: How has slavery affected northern Bahr El Ghazal?

Lual: Khartoum's Arab militias have been raiding and taking slaves, looting
cattle and burning villages since the war started in 1983. The area has been
devastated by slave raids. The loss of life and property has been enormous.
People have been traumatized. They have been on the run for years. Many people
have been taken to the North as slaves. Many others ran away to the North to
save their lives.

Freedom Now: How many people from northern Bahr El Ghazal have been enslaved?

Lual: Nobody knows exactly, but the number is very high. In my County, we
estimate that between 50,000 to 60,000 people have been enslaved. Our records
show that over 10,000 have already been brought back by Arab retrievers. The
reports from other counties of northern Bahr el Ghazal show that over 200,000
have been enslaved over the past 20 years. The hardest hit areas are nearest
the border with the Arabs. Gogrial is a bit to the South and has not been hit
as hard as some of the others.

5. Analysis of the Road Map
DEBKAfile Special Analysis

What has led Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon to fit unreservedly into AmericaÓ"s geo-strategic box for the postwar Middle East? What has President George W. Bush promised him for saying yes to the Middle East road map, a document that no one except its authors believes in? What role is assigned the Palestinians? And how much will it cost Israel?

Sharon was offered three main incentives:

First America"s systematic disarmament of IsraelÓ"s most dangerous enemies has been built into the Bush master-plan Iraq first; shortly, an attempt to dissolve Iran s nuclear weapons option .. followed by steps to eliminate SyriaÓ's missile systems and weapons of mass destruction and the Hizballah"s military capabilities. In the long term, Washington will almost certainly aim at cutting short the development of Egyptian and Libyan N-bombs.
>
The United States is sweeping all these threats from its borders without Israel needing to deploy a single soldier or fire a single shot. For this saving of Israeli military life and limb, no words can do ample justice. Without any expenditure of its own military and economic resources, Israel may find itself in three or four years liberated from all its next-door enemies for the first time in its history.

Second The prospect of Yasser ArafatÓs eclipse on the international and Palestinian stage.

Third Sharon has been assured by the Bush White House though not publicly that Washington will back him in resisting any attempt to include the return of the 1948 Palestinian refugees in a final-status accord. Washington also promises to go along with leaving the main Jewish settlement blocks in place on the West Bank.
BR>
These incentives for Israeli acceptance of the road map carry a steep price tag.
Israel and its armed forces ! will have lost their freedom of action to combat terror

Bus attacked outside Hebron

At 10:30 tonight an Egged 160 bus, traveling from Jerusalem to Kiryat Arba-Hebron, was shot at near the Halhul bypass road, several kilometers north of Hebron. The bus was hit by at least 10 bullets and two people were lightly wounded by fragments. The injured passenger is presently being evacuated by ambulance to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and the other, the bus driver, is being treated at the Kiryat Arba Medical Center.

According to security sources, the bus was attacked by two groups of terrorists from both sides of the road.

A Kiryat Arba resident, Rachel, who was on the bus told "News from Hebron:" There was a sudden long volley of shots, not far from me. I was sitting at the back of the bus. A bullet broke the back window and missed one man's head by millimeters. The bullet passed down the middle of the isle, and thank G-d, no one was standing there. It shook me up."

May 28, 2003 / Iyar 26, 5763
JERUSALEM DAY
Jerusalem Day commemorates the reunification of Jerusalem, Israel's capital, following the division of the city between 1948 and 1967. The Jerusalem Municipality's website states, "For three millennia Jerusalem has been the heart of the Jewish people. Although throughout the years the city was under the rule of many nations, including the Assyrians, Persians and Romans, Jerusalem is the enduring center of Jewish belief and identity. It has only ever been a capital city under Jewish rule. More recently, the Ottoman Turks ruled Jerusalem until December 1917, when it came under the control of the British.

"On November 29, 1947, the United Nations decided that the Land of Israel would be divided into two separate countries - one Jewish and one Arab. Jerusalem would belong to neither, holding special standing under the auspices of the U.N. The British mandate ended on May 15, 1948, at which time 7 Arab states declared war on the newly created Jewish State. The cease-fire ending Israel's War of Independence left Jerusalem a divided city, with Jordan retaining control of the eastern portion encompassing the Old City and the Western Wall and Israel retaining the western side. The resulting border was 7 kilometers long from north to south, dividing neighborhoods and even private property. A concrete wall was erected on the Israeli side against snipers.

"The Six Day War began on June 6, 1967. On June 8 - the 28th of the month of Iyar, according to the Hebrew calendar - Israeli forces broke through Lions' Gate to the Old City. On June 28, the Government of Israel proclaimed the Reunification of Jerusalem, the Capital of Israel." The Chief Rabbinate recognized the 28th of Iyar as a religious holiday of thanksgiving.

The Central Bureau of Statistics announced today that there are 683,000 residents in the capital, representing over 10% of the national population. The average monthly household income is NIS 9,300, more than 2,000 shekels less than the national average. One-third of the population is Arab. The average household has four children - 7 in hareidi families, and 4.5 children in Muslim households. 35% of the capital's residents are children under 15. In 2002, over 18,000 babies were born - 13% of the total number of babies born in Israel.

Over 1,000 PA residents were reportedly involved in a major ruckus in PA-controlled Hevron today, the result of an internal feud. There are reports of at least one dead and dozens injured.

Hizbullah anti-aircraft fire was directed at the eastern sector of the northern border this afternoon. The rockets landed between Kiryat Shmonah and Metullah. No one was hurt, but this was the 14th such attack this month.

1. Moshe Kohn: The International Roots of Transfer
The Jerusalem Post, 20/11/01
( moshbarb@netvision.net.il )
Extracts:

Considering the transfer of Arabs from Eretz Yisrael -

by agreement or, if necessary, by coercion -

then .. those Zionists [who advocate it for the "Palestinians"] are in the glorious

company of such "fascists/racists" as Nobel Peace laureate Fridtjof

Nansen, organizer of the mutual transfer of Greek and Turkish populations

after World War I; the 31st president of the U.S., Herbert Hoover; his

successors, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman; Nobel Peace laureate

Sir Norman Angell; the 1937 Royal (British) Peel Commission; British Col.

Richard Meinertzhagen; American author John Gunther; Harry St. John

Philby, a rabid British anti-Zionist and adviser to Saudi Arabian ruler Abdul

Aziz Ibn Saud, the man responsible for the transfer of the Hashemite Arabs

from the Arabian Peninsula to Transjordan; Rev. James Parkes, English

Christian theologian and historian; British secretary for the colonies William

Ormsby-Gore; the British Labor Party; British foreign secretary and prime

minister Anthony Eden; and other non-Jewish luminaries.

(The history of transfer is told in richly documented detail in Chaim

Simons's book, "International Proposals to Transfer Arabs from Palestine",

1988.)

Let's begin with Herbert Hoover, who was a Quaker, a noted humanitarian,

and an engineer by education and profession.

In 1945 Hoover proposed the recovery of some 12 million dunams (three

million acres) of land in Iraq for the resettlement of the Arabs of Mandatory

Western Palestine. (This designation applied only to the area west of the

Jordan River, the eastern part of the Mandate having long since been

presented by Winston Churchill to the Hashemite newcomers from Arabia.)

"Palestine itself," Hoover wrote, "could be turned over to Jewish

immigrants in search of a homeland." He thought this might prove to be
" 'the model migration in history' -
transferring Arabs to an Arab nation; restoring agricultural prosperity to the

ancient valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates, and providing persecuted Jews

with a refuge and a beacon. 'It would be a solution by engineering instead

of by conflict,' Hoover said."

He subsequently wrote a letter of elaboration to the "New York World-

Telegram" newspaper (long since defunct) saying that his proposal offers "a

method of settlement with both honor and wisdom."

Truman liked the idea.

As for Franklin Roosevelt -

In 1942 Roosevelt told his secretary of the treasury, Henry Morgenthau, Jr.:

"I actually would put barbed wire around Palestine, and I would begin to

move the Arabs out of Palestine... I would provide land for the Arabs in

some other part of the Middle East... There are lots of places to which you

could move the Arabs." And he told the under-secretary of state, Edward

Stettinius, that "Palestine should be for the Jews and no Arabs should be

in it."

As for the British Labor Party - in 1944 it adopted a pro-Zionist resolution,

including a proposal for the transfer of Arabs from Palestine, that was too

radical even for some of the Zionist leadership. But that was before Labor

came to power the following year, and came under the sway of ... foreign secretary Ernest Bevin.

In 1927 even Iraq's King Feisal I implicitly welcomed the idea of "Muslim

Arab peasants from Syria and Palestine" coming to cultivate the vast

expanses of unoccupied Iraqi land. A little more than two decades later,

Iraqi prime minister Nuri Sa'id put forth the idea of exchanging Baghdad's

Jewish population for an equal number of Israeli Arabs.
....Simons cites in his book several authoritative

statements to the effect that a good half of the Arabs of Mandatory

Palestine had arrived only in the decades since the Zionists began

developing the country's agriculture and economy in general.

2. Chritian Identity and Brit-Am
Christian Identity as far as "Identity" goes believes in a similar theme to that of Brit-Am.
Some (but not all) of CI groups are anti-semitic and some are linked to fringe elements. Not all of them are
negative but some of them are and they give us a bad name through the association of what we believe in.
Any new revolutionary idea that has been accepted in history has had to go through an evolutionary phase
wherein it was popularly considered to be that of a "lunatic" fringe. This is the price we have to pay for being on the "cutting edge"
of Biblical truth.

The Brit-Am belief is that of the Bible. The Bible has been often misused to justify all kinds of perversity
yet without the Bible this world would be a dark and ugly place. All that is truly good in our existence is thanks to the God of Israel as He reveals Himself in His Bible.

Was Rudolphs
religion a factor?
By Alan Cooperman
THE WASHINGTON POST

June 2 The arrest of alleged Olympic bomber Eric Robert Rudolph may finally allow authorities to answer a question that has loomed since the beginning of the five-year hunt for him, but that has taken on deeper resonance since Sept. 11, 2001: Is he a Christian terrorist?
THE QUESTION is not just whether Rudolph is a terrorist, or whether he considers himself a Christian. It is whether he planted bombs at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, two abortion clinics and a gay nightclub to advance a religious ideology and how numerous, organized and violent others who share that ideology may be.
Federal investigators believe Rudolph has had a long association with the radical Christian Identity movement, which asserts that North European whites are the direct descendents of the lost tribes of Israel, Gods chosen people. Some investigators also think he may have written letters that claimed responsibility for the nightclub and abortion clinic bombings on behalf of the Army of God, a violent offshoot of Christian Identity.
We declare and will wage total war on the ungodly communist regime in New York and your legaslative bureaucratic lackeys in Washington. It is you who are responsible and preside over the murder of children and issue the policy of ungodly preversion thats destroying our people, one of the letters said, in childish penmanship riddled with errors.

Based on what we know of Rudolph so far, and admittedly its fragmentary, there seems to be a fairly high likelihood that he can legitimately be called a Christian terrorist, said Michael Barkun, a professor of political science at Syracuse University who has been a consultant to the FBI on Christian extremist groups.
Investigators have said, however, that it is unclear whether Rudolph genuinely was part of an Army of God or merely claimed to belong to an organized group. According to Barkun, most Christian Identity followers are nonviolent, and the movements militants generally adhere to the principle of leaderless resistance, believing that government surveillance is so pervasive that organized groups are bound to be penetrated and it is wiser to act alone.
Another expert on such groups, Idaho State University sociology professor James A. Aho, said he is reluctant to use the phrase Christian terrorist, because it is sort of an oxymoron.
I would prefer to say that Rudolph is a religiously inspired terrorist, because most mainstream Christians consider Christian Identity to be a heresy,Aho said. If Christians take umbrage at the juxtaposition of the words Christianand terrorist,he added, that may give them some idea of how Muslims feelwhen they constantly hear the term Islamic terrorism, especially since the Sept. 11 attacks.

Religiously inspired terrorism is a worldwide phenomenon, and every major world religion has people who have appropriated the label of their religion in order to legitimize their violence,Aho said.
Not only in Rudolphs case, but also in the case of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy J. McVeigh and Muslim suicide bombers, theres always the question of what comes first, is it the religious belief or the violent personality?Aho said. Im inclined to believe that people who are violent in their inclinations search out a religious home that justifies their violence.

FOUND EXTREMISM EARLY
Rudolph, 36, appears to have found his religious home during his impoverished familys wanderings in his fatherless teenage years.
The FBI believes he was exposed to Christian Identitys ideology in the early 1980s when his mother brought him to live for four months with the Church of Israel, a congregation in Schell City, Mo. Federal investigators have said that after that experience, when he was about 14, Rudolph periodically made contact with Christian Identity groups, including the Aryan Nations, an Idaho-based group that has been influential in the militia movement.
But the Church of Israels pastor, Dan Gayman, strongly disassociated himself from Rudolph in a telephone interview yesterday.
We very clearly and emphatically teach that all Christians have a duty and an obligation to respect all law enforcement authorities. If Eric Rudolph had listened to his lessons here, he would have learned that acts of violence were absolutely and completely out of order and something this church would never have condoned,Gayman said.
Gayman, 66, recalled that Rudolphs mother arrived at the church in the Missouri Ozarks in about 1981 or 82 with Eric and Jamie, one of his four brothers, and presented herself as a widow in very destitute condition, with two boys to feed and without money to buy food or gas.He said his congregation took them in just long enough for them to get back on their feet.
The Church of Israel does not call itself a Christian Identity congregation. But its teachings echo the movements, which are generally traced to two 19th-century British ministers, John Wilson and Edward Hine, who justified colonialism on the grounds that the British nation was descended from the 10 lost tribes of biblical Israel.
Asked to explain the Church of Israels racial views, Gayman said, We teach that God is the creator of all races, that He created them separately and distinctly with their own unique talents and characteristics, and that every race has a purpose in Gods plan.
As to the purpose of whites, he said: I would simply say that we believe that the Caucasian people are the literal descendants of the lost 10 tribes of Israel, and they would occupy a place of prominence in the plan of God.
Because the Christian Identity movement is loosely organized and keeps no membership rolls, its numbers have been estimated at anywhere from 2,000 to 100,000, including many informal chapters in prisons. Many adherents are strongly anti-Semitic, considering themselves to be the true Israelites and Jews to be impostors.

RUDOLPH STILL A MYSTERY
Barkun said the anti-gay and antiabortion positions that may have motivated Rudolphs alleged bombings are a rather subordinate theme in Christian Identity. He noted, however, that members of Rudolphs extended family have said he viewed abortion not just as the taking of life, but as a threat to the white race.
The notion that there are significant numbers of white mothers having abortions, and therefore the race is being endangered, is interesting, because racial genocide is a major theme in Christian Identity,Barkun said.
A deeper mystery, perhaps, is the motive for the Olympic bombing, which took place at a rock concert in downtown Atlanta, killing a 44-year-old woman and injuring more than 100 others. Barkun speculated that the Olympics may have symbolized for Rudolph the mixing of races and cultures.Or, he said, the Games may have triggered pervasive fear of a global tyranny run from the United Nations and destroying American independence and so on.
But, he added, anti-Olympic sentiment is not a motif in Christian Identity, and it still strikes me as an odd target.

2. The Bridge Is Out on the Road Map

Subject: Danger:

The Prime Minister of Japan met with President Bush weekend before last on his ranch in Crawford, TX. Undoubtedly the President lobbied him about supporting a Palestinian State next to Israel on the land YVHV promised to the twelve tribes. Monday before last Japan was rocked with a massive earthquake. After the war ended in Iraq, the President, Colon Powell, Condoleezza Rice (disregarding my warning to him in my open letter (published in the JewishXpress Magazine) all unitedly began lobbying for two states on the Holy Land. Again like Japan with the earthquake, the United States was similarly hit with 434 deadly tornadoes. The most in history. (Personally, I believe that these tornadoes and the earthquake were precipated by this administration's and Congress"s call for a separate Palestinian State on the land promised to Israel)

These calamities are just the beginning as the kings of the earth take counsel against YHVH and against His anointed. In this case, Israel is the anointed of YVHV. It is He that is regathering His people to the land from the ashes of Auschwitz, from the neighboring nations of the Middle East, from the former Soviet Union and from Ethiopia. Nearly a thousand times in the Scriptures, it is He that is calling all the tribes out of all the nations of their scattering back to Himself and to the land that He has given them as an inheritance forever.

When the world leaders take counsel together to divide His land He laughs at them for He will have them in derision. In Joel 2:18 YHVH states: "I will be jealous over My land and will pity My people." YVHV is the Zionist and owner of the land. It is He that will give it to whom He will. It is He that is regathering His people and not they regathering themselves.

While Israel Radio reported that while the streets of Aqaba are decorated
today with the flags of Jordan, U.S. and the PLO/PA, Jordan declined to put
Israeli flags in the streets.

Amir Weiss, the spokesman of the Israeli Embassy in Amman, took an upbeat
tone in an interview on Israel Radio, noting that Israeli flags were inside
the king's palace in Aqaba for the meeting.

At 9:47 AM Israel Radio pointed out it is becoming embarrassing that the
Jordanians have yet to permit the Israeli flag to be displayed at the press

Danish foreign minister hints at sanctions if road map stalls

By Arnon Regular, Haaretz Correspondent

Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said Saturday the foreign ministers of the international Quartet (the UN, United States, EU and Russia) had prepared various means of applying pressure to force Israel and the Palestinians to implement the road map for a solution to their conflict.

Moeller, whose country, Denmark, headed the EU presidency when the road map was put together, was speaking on the eve of the arrival in the region of U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. He had been asked what sanctions could be imposed by the EU and the Quartet on any side that failed to implement the road map.

"We have a series of measures we will come out with at the appropriate time," Moeller said at a conference of peace activists from Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt and Jordan that was organized by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry. "I won't expose them now because if I were to do so, they would lose their effectiveness; but we are ready to use them if we are required to do so," he added.

Delegates at the conference included Haim Ramon, MK (Labor), former Labor lawmaker Uzi Bar'am, representatives from the Peres Center for Peace, Fatah activists from the PA and Jerusalem, and members of Jordanian and Egyptian peace movements

BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN
G-d's promise of the Holy Land to Jacob's offspring now appears on some 25 large billboards across southeastern and central United States. Four American organizations comprising the Committee For a One-State Solution are sponsoring a billboard-and-bumper-sticker campaign to try and halt President Bush's headlong drive along the Road Map. As of now, there are billboards in Colorado, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.

The campaign reflects what the organizers call the "growing concern within the Christian community that the Road Map plan will dictate [Israel's] surrender of biblical lands" - and that this is "an affront to all believers." The billboards petition President Bush to honor God's covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In addition, thousands of bumper stickers have been sent out nationwide with the same message. The billboards ask that people contact the White House at 202-456-1111. For more information, see <http://www.afsi.org/ACTIVISM/BILLBOARDS/billboards.htm>.

In a related item, the Israeli branch of Republicans Abroad <www.republicansabroad.org> has written to President Bush that "pressing ahead with this [Road Map] plan will only serve to alienate American Jews and the Christian right." The letter states that the Administration's pursuit of the plan is causing "increasing numbers of American citizens, both here in Israel and in the United States, [to consider] abandoning the Republican party."

3. Orthodox Jewish Groups Support Israel's Defensive Actions; Take
Exception to White House Criticism
Sender: imra-owner@imra.org.il

The Orthodox Union, Religious Zionists of America, Rabbinical Council of
America, National Council of Young Israel, AMIT, and Emunah of America today
express our support for the State of Israel's recent actions in the defense
of its citizens and their security.

As President Bush has repeatedly stated, "terror is terror, regardless of
where in the world it occurs," and we support Israel's right to act on this
principle in its self-defense.

We take exception to the White House's criticism of today's Israeli action
in the Gaza Strip against the Hamas terrorist leader. Those who would abort
the process initiated by the President must be confronted at every turn in
accordance with the principles set forth by President Bush on June 24, 2002.

We pray for an end to terror and violence in the Middle East and for a
genuine and lasting peace for all the people of the region.

4. The 10 Great Things About America!
by Dinesh D. Souza
From: Johnstembridge1@aol.com

[Extracts Only]:
We've endured lengthy lectures about America's history of slavery, about
the defects of American foreign policy, about the materialism of
American life, and about the excesses of American culture. In the view
of many critics at home and abroad, America can do no right.

This indictment, which undermines the patriotism of Americans, is based
on a narrow and distorted understanding of America. It exaggerates
America's faults, and it ignores what is good and even great about
America.

As an immigrant who has chosen to become a U.S. citizen, I feel
especially qualified to say what is special about this country.

Having grown up in a different society - in my case, Mumbai, India -- I
am not only:
Able to identify aspects of America that are invisible to people who
have always lived here, but I am also...
Acutely conscious of the daily blessings I enjoy in America.

Here, then, is my list of The 10 Great Things About America:

#1. America provides an amazingly good life for the ordinary guy:

Rich people live well everywhere. But what distinguishes America is that
it provides an incomparably high standard of living for the "common man."

We now live in a country where construction workers regularly pay $4 for
a non-fat latte, where maids drive nice cars, and where plumbers take
their families on vacation to Europe.

Indeed newcomers to the United States are struck by the amenities
enjoyed by "poor" people in the United States. This fact was dramatized
in the 1980s when CBS television broadcast a documentary, "People Like
Us," which was intended to show the miseries of the poor during an
ongoing recession.

The Soviet Union also broadcast the documentary, with a view to
embarrassing the Reagan administration. But by the testimony of former
Soviet leaders, it had the opposite effect. Ordinary people across the
Soviet Union saw that the poorest Americans have TV sets, microwave
ovens and cars.

They arrived at the same perception that I witnessed in an acquaintance
of mine from Bombay who has been unsuccessfully trying to move to the
United States. I asked him, "Why are you so eager to come to America?"
He replied, "I really want to live in a country where the poor people
are fat."

#2. America offers more opportunity and social mobility than any other
country, including the countries of Europe:

#3. Work and trade are respectable in America, which is not true
elsewhere:

Historically, most cultures have despised the merchant and the laborer,
regarding the former as vile and corrupt and the latter as degraded and
vulgar. Some cultures, such as that of ancient Greece and medieval
Islam, even held it is better to acquire things through plunder than
through trade or contract labor.

But the American Founders altered this moral hierarchy. They established
a society in which the life of the businessman, and of the people who
worked for him, would be a noble calling. In the American view, there is
nothing vile or degraded about serving your customers either as a CEO or
as a waiter. The ordinary life of production and supporting a family is
more highly valued in the United States than in any other country.
Indeed America is the only country in the world where we call the waiter
"sir," as if he were a knight.

#4. America has achieved greater social equality than any other society:

True, there are large inequalities of income and wealth in America. In
purely economic terms, Europe is more egalitarian. But Americans are
socially more equal than any other people, and this is unaffected by
economic disparities.

# 5. People live longer, fuller lives in America:

In 1900, the life expectancy in America was around 50 years; today, it
is more than 75 years. Advances in medicine and agriculture are mainly
responsible for the change. This extension of the lifespan means more
years to enjoy life, more free time to devote to a good cause, and more
occasions to do things with the grandchildren.

In many countries, people who are old seem to have nothing to do: they
just wait to die. In America the old are incredibly vigorous, and people
in their 70s pursue the pleasures of life, including remarriage and
sexual gratification, with a zeal that I find unnerving.

# 6. In America the destiny of the young is not decided for them but is
created by them.

#7. America has gone further than any other society in establishing
equality of rights:

#8. America has found a solution to the problem of religious and ethnic
conflict that continues to divide and terrorize much of the world:

Visitors to places like New York are amazed to see the way in which
Serbs and Croatians, Sikhs and Hindus, Irish Catholics and Irish
Protestants, Jews and Palestinians, all seem to work and live together
in harmony.

.. in general America is the only country in the world that extends
full membership to outsiders.

#9. America has the kindest, gentlest foreign policy of any great power
in world history:

For the most part, America is an abstaining superpower:

#10. America, the freest nation on Earth, is also the most virtuous
nation on Earth:
This point seems counterintuitive, given the amount of conspicuous
vulgarity, vice and immorality in America.

The millions of Americans who live decent, praiseworthy lives deserve
our highest admiration because they have opted for the good when the
good is not the only available option.
Even amidst the temptations of a rich and free society, they have
remained on the straight path.

Their virtue has special luster because it is freely chosen.

5. Iraq - needed by USA?
We have interpreted the invasion and occupation of Iraq by the USA and Britain as possibly fulfilling Biblical Prophecy.
According to Zechariah 10:7-10 and Micah 7 Ephraim in the Latter Days will return to Gilead (Syria and part of Iraq) and Lebanon.
They will return by way of northern Iraq and the surrounding region?
See the accompanying article in "Brit-Am Now"-255
The allies had to attack Iraq had attacked them and posed a danger to them through its backing of terror organizations.
Iraq in effect played into the hands of the allies. They needed (to some degree) a reason to invade when they did. It was in some way a gift from heaven that they were almost forced to do so when they most needed it.
Partial Explanation:
America needs oil. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait have oil that is part of the world economy and that of the USA.
The Americans were in Saudia and Kuwait. The Americans were being pressured by the Saudis to leave
and had agreed to do so. Kuwait could go either way any time. Iraq was antagonistic and to a degree in an open state of warfare.
The American position was on the verge of serious decline.
The price of oil had been fixed in US dollars. This means that in the short term it was as if the USA had produced the oil itself.
The USA could print dollars and buy oil with them. The dollars were worth something. They were worth oil barrels. Eventually the dollars would come back to the USA and the USA would have to supply goods and services for them but it did this largely on its own terms and in its own time.
It could keep the ball rolling and enjoy prosperity through paper transactions. The dollars could always be exchanged for foreign currency
but even this would work to the advantage of the USA. The USA has similar arrangements all over the world that enable America to be the most prosperous country in the world, keep the world peace, and consume much more than it actually produces.
The rest of the world led by the EU, Japan, and China have been striving to unseat the USA and have been partially succesful.
They are aiming to take over.
In 1990-91 when Sadam invaded Kuwait he threatened America's position. He was driven out of Kuwait. Sadam then began to set the price of oil he produced in Euros. The benefit the USA had previously had through the price of oil being set in dollars now began partially to go to the EU. That was one of the reasons Germany and France were against invading Iraq.

By invading Iraq and helping to rehabilitate Iraq and maintaining a presence there the USA keeps the other oil nations in line and keeps the oil price in dollars and supply lines under comparative control. It increases the chances of the USA world-wide in economic confrontation.
The economy is important. Without funds it is difficult to function. Because they lost on the economic scene the Russians Communists fell apart.
Without an economically strong USA the world is in danger. Australia would be in danger from Indonesia and other Asian nations. Britain would be in danger of being absorbed by the Continent. The State of Israel would its economic and military mainstay and be subject to threats by the EU and nearly ALL OTHER world powers who would not hesitate to engineer a second holocaust.

George Bush probably thinks that settling the middle east situation is a noble cause that he will go down in history for brokering a peace treaty. President Bush runs the risk of working in opposition to the word of G-d in brokering away land that was given to Abraham for a perpetual inheritance.

Genesis 13:14-15 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

Abdul Aziz Rantissi Cheers Attack on Jews in Jerusalem

Moments after the 5:30 PM blast on Jaffa Road, near the "Davidka" in
Downtown Jerusalem, Abdel Aziz Rantissi, a senior Hamas Terrorist leader
cheered the attack, calling upon more strikes against Jews everywhere and
against Jewish political leaders.

The Jerusalem blast has left many dead (early reports of 15 dead) and
dozens seriously wounded. It is statements and actions like these that
prompted Israel to carry out an attack against Rantissi yesterday.
Rantissi succeeded in evading a missile attack. Had Israel succeeded
perhaps many lives could have been saved today. Rantissi has been
instrumental in murdering dozens of Jews, in the past. And he continues to
plot the murder of innocent Jews, as we saw again today.

U.S. President Bush has already warned the Israelis against taking any
retaliation for the Jerusalem massacre, repeating the sentiments of his
comments after the failed attack on Rantissi.

Bush said, "I'm concerned that the attacks will make it more
difficult for the Palestinian leadership to fight off terrorist attacks,
Bush told reporters Tuesday. I also don't believe the attacks helped
Israeli security."

4. The Enemy Speaks (But we can perhaps learn something)
The following article is inaccurate and presents a lop-sided view of Christians who support Israel.
Nevertheless it is worth reading since it shows how some of those who are both anti-Jewish and evidently anti-Bible-believers view the issue and how by taking a few selected facts they can misrepresent the reality.
Our impression is that most Christians support Israel because they believe that is what God as He reveals Himself in the Bible would want them to.
That is the bottom line and everything else is really superfluous.
Even so, the article is worth noting:

Evangelicals in the US believe there is a biblical basis for opposing the Middle East road map

Just as new life is being breathed into the peace process, religious groups throughout the US are whipping up hostility to the road map. The aim of the Christian-Jewish "interfaith Zionist leadership summit" held in Washington last month was "to oppose rewarding murderous Palestinian terrorism with statehood". Attending the conference were some of the most influential figures of the Christian right; behind them a whole infrastructure of churches, radio stations and bible college courses teaching "middle-east history".

Since the late 19th century, an increasing number of fundamentalists have come to believe that the second coming of Christ is bound up with the political geography of Israel. Forget about the pre-1967 boundaries; for them the boundaries that count are the ones shown on maps at the back of the Bible.

The acceptance of the state of Israel by the UN in 1949 brought much excitement to those who believed the second coming was being prepared for. A similar reaction greeted the Six Day war in 1967. The displacement of Palestinians mattered little compared with the fulfilment of biblical prophecy. Writing in Christianity Today immediately after the Six Day war, Billy Graham's father-in-law, Nelson Bell, claimed the fact that "for the first time in more than 2,000 years Jerusalem is now completely in the hands of the Jews gives the student of the Bible a thrill and a renewed faith in its accuracy and validity."

So as the international community withdrew its embassies after the war, and the UN passed resolution 242 condemning Israel's occupation of the West Bank, the International Christian Embassy was set up to show support for Israel. Since then the Christian right has staunchly opposed trading land for peace or any attempt to broker a settlement by power-sharing arrangements. The destruction of the al-Aqsa mosque continues to be sought after by both Christian and Jewish fundamentalists. US churches are encouraged to form links with Jewish settlers via email and to support them through fundraising.

Happy to have any friend it can get, the Israeli government has long since exploited its connections with far-right US Christian groups. While moderate Christians, such as the Palestinian Bishop of Jerusalem, cannot get to see Ariel Sharon despite repeated requests, the door is always open to southern Baptists and TV evangelists.

What is astonishing about this marriage of convenience is that their version of evangelical Christianity believes that biblical prophecy leads to Armageddon and finally to the conversion of the Jews to Christ. According to the most influential of the Christian Zionists, Hal Lindsey, the valley from Galilee to Eilat will flow with blood and "144,000 Jews would bow down before Jesus and be saved, but the rest of Jewry would perish in the mother of all holocausts". These lunatic ravings would matter little were they not so influential. Lindsey's book, The Late Great Planet Earth, has sold nearly 20m copies in English and another 30m-plus worldwide.

Against this crazy theological background, an ideological battle is now being waged. Despite the fact that apocalyptic prophecy as read by the Christian right ends with another holocaust, some Israeli politicians and journalists are encouraging fundamentalists to stick by the implications of their narrative. In a recent column in the Jerusalem Post, Michael Freund called upon evangelical Christians to lobby against the pressure being put on George Bush by Tony Blair and Colin Powell. "If Jesus were alive today," he wrote, "the US state department would likely criticise him for being a Jewish settler and an obstacle for peace."

There are 45 million evangelicals in the US and they represent a crucial block vote for born-again Bush. It is therefore to his credit that he has resisted their pressure and managed to persuade Sharon to accept the peace plan. Perhaps Bush is able to take the evangelical vote for granted in much the same way as Blair is able to take the left's vote for granted: both have nowhere else to go.

Yet Bishop Riah Abu El-Assal of Jerusalem doesn't trust Bush. He thinks the combination of European impotence and the US's refusal to pressure Israelis into stopping building settlements means the plan is already dead in the water. "It took them six days to occupy the Palestinian territories; they could get out in three," he says. Bishop Riah has persuaded the World Council of Churches to call for sanctions on all products from the occupied territories.

The diocese of Jerusalem runs hospitals in Gaza and Nablus. It's in places like these that the real work of Christian ministry is conducted. By contrast, US evangelicals oppose the peace process and swarm into Iraq to convert its people to Jesus.

5. Religious Zionists
Cherie wrote:
is there a difference between religious zionists and political zionists in
your opinion? please explain...thanks, Cherie Koch

Answer:
Religious Zionists see a religious obligation in settling the Land of Israel, conquering the land,
and establishing an independent Jewish rule over the land in accordance with the Bible and related sources.
Lately many also see the State of Israel as an indispensable stage in the Redemption of the World and the coming Messianic era.
The strengthening of the Jewish presence in the Land of Israel and of the State of Israel is regarded as a preparation for the coming of the Messiah.
I am speaking in general: In practice there are all kinds of Religious Zionists and some are more religious than others and some
emphasize the secular aspects of Zionism mas much as the religious ones.
Political Zionists see the need for an independent Jewish State in the Land of Israel due to the historical and emotional connection of the Jewish people to the land. They emphasize culture, democracy, secular values, and so on. The boundaries between Religious Zionism and Political Zionism in practice are often not so clear cut.

This is a flat out lie. Hal Lindsay never ever taught or said such a thing. I became a Christian through the movie "The Late Great Planet Earth". I have many of Hal's books so I think I can speak on this subject. In addition I've studied scripture for 25 years and can also speak quite eloquently on Biblical prophecy. First of all Hal is not a Christian Zionist. He is a teacher of Biblical prophecy. What he does teach is exactly what Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, Amos, Zechariah etc., say, and that is that God's promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of the land of Canaan, that was forfeited for a time because of Israel's disobedience per Deuteronomy 18, will be returned to Israel, per God's promise to David. fThe fact that the Zionist movement started in the late 1800's and today Israel is in the land, with Jerusalem as it's capital is proof that God is moving his people back into the land. I believe that you, Yair, are being used by God towards the finality of Israel and Judah being reunited. He further teaches exactly like you do, Yair, and that is that Israel and Judah will be reunited in the land, per Ezekiel 37. In the Book of Revelation is speaks about 12,000 from each tribe being sealed by God for a specific purpose. At the end of the 70th week of Daniel, referred to in Daniel 9:24, all of Israel will be saved and the promise of Jeremiah 31 will be fulfilled in Israel. In the meantime there will be much trouble in Israel, per Zechariah 12, and per daily headlines. Those who call Hal's teachings lunatic ravings are usually those who haven't a clue what scripture teaches...
...this Road Map I believe, is a selling out of Israel. I personally, as a Bible believing Christian, would not touch that situation over there with a 10 foot pole, because that is God's land and he gave is to Israel, and when He's ready, Israel will have it, though all the nations of the world come against her. Zech 12:3.

DEMOGRAPHIC AND GEOGRAPHIC PROBLEMS
Spray planes of the Green Patrol this morning destroyed 2,000 dunams (500 acres) worth of crops planted by Bedouin on lands not their own north of Be'er Sheva. Two weeks from now, the government will hold a special meeting on the topic of the Bedouin take-over of many Negev lands, as well as the widespread illegal construction by Israeli-Arabs in the Galilee and Wadi Ara areas. Housing Minister Effie Eitam (National Religious Party) requested the session.

Shortly before the Shavuot holiday, the Green Patrol took Minister Eitam and senior Housing Ministry officials on an aerial tour of the Negev. They saw Kibbutz Revivim, 20 kilometers south of Be'er Sheva, surrounded on all sides by illegal Bedouin construction, in most places right up to the Kibbutz fence. The same is true around the Nevatim Military Air Force Base, just east of Be'er Sheva. They then flew north, Haggai Segal reports, where they saw three long strips of illegal Arab construction dividing the Lower Galilee "in a most definitive manner." Eitam has long been saying that there are 80,000 illegal structures in Israel, nearly all of them owned by Arabs.

ISRAEL PROTESTS ROMANIAN REVISIONISM
A recent statement by a Romanian government ministry about the Holocaust has aroused the ire of the Israeli government and Jewish groups. Yad Vashem was first to announce its objection to a recent Public Information Ministry statement that there was "no Holocaust inside Romanian borders between the years 1940-1945."

Israel's Foreign Ministry summoned Romania's Ambassador in Israel, Valeria Mariana Stoica, and informed him that Israel takes a grave view of the Romanian statement. Foreign Ministry Deputy Director General for Central Europe and Eurasia, David Peleg, said that the Government of Romania must find a way to correct this unfortunate statement, in order to return the countries' bilateral ties to the right path.

Yad Vashem's response emphasized that "the murder of Jews in greater Romania during the Holocaust has already been established." In fact, 420,000 Romanian and Soviet Jews were murdered in greater Romania during the Holocaust years.

In a book published by Yad Vashem, Dr. John Ancel shows that the Romanian government, army and police "bear direct responsibility for the murder of a large number of the Jews in greater Romania during World War II." Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev said that the information is based on documents that were collected from archives in Romania and around the world. "It is difficult to believe that a country which endeavors to establish a democratic regime would present such a distorted version of historical events," Shalev said.

JERUSALEM 221

Shalom Yair; I don't know who is spreading what but when someone tells you that Hal Lindsey said 144,000 Jews would believe and the rest would die in Armegedon, that is their imagination. Those people will be witnesses and will have the mark of God on their heads. It amazes me
how people make statements about the Bible and others quote but never go and read what it says. I don't know Hal Lindsey personally and do not read his books but I have heard him speak about the end times.
I still believe and have always said if the Jewish Rabbis would teach the
Torah as Rabbi Chaim Richman of Temple Institute does (Is 49:6) it would turn the so-called Christian believers inside out as to their beliefs.
The program is broadcast from Midland, Texas on TV and is called
"Light to the nations". Pointing out differences all the time is an Arab
way of thinking and never brings people together. Telling of the "EMET"
Torah will do its work in the people and this takes it out of the hands of men. Avi Lipkin, Gershon Salomom, Gary Cooperberg and others have been here in San Angelo, Tex to speak and I have been in Gershon's office in Jerusalem and with a little help from the Ultr Orthodox amazing changes could take place in a short time.

5. Lecture on Finland and Issachar
On Monday next week we will be giving a talk in Jerusalem to a group from Finland.
We identify the people of Finland mainly with the tribe of Issachar though contingents from Gad and Simeon are also present.
We are putting together much material on this subject and eventually relevant articles should become available that will be published
in our magazine (when it reappears, God willing) or in a separate book.

Dear Yair
I believe that a big war between the Arab nations and Israel is inevitable.
When this war happens I believe that weapons of mass destruction will be
used and that Israel will end up winning a great victory at very great cost.
Large sections of the land of Israel will be defiled or polluted or even
poisoned as a result of this war. At this time the Israeli technology of
using bacteria to clean poisoned water will come into its own. I even
believe that after this war Israel will be a leader in cleaning up
polluted/poisoned land. I believe that the reseach of the 16 year old Ron
Neuman and others in cleaning poisoned water is a way of the future for
Israel. I really believe that God is going to show the Israelis how to
clean up the poisoned/devastated land of Israel after the future terrible
war.

- 2. Neill Lochery: So Who Are These Israeli Settlers?
National Post - Jun 18, 2003
(Extracts):

The stereotypical image of the 180,000-plus Israeli settlers who inhabit the West Bank and Gaza Strip is of machine-gun-totting, Arab-hating Jews. Politically they are characterized, by an increasingly hostile media, as extremist and the major Israeli obstacle to peace.

So who are these settlers? And how does the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, plan to deal with them?

There are three basic types of settler in the West Bank, and even this is a simplification.

The first group, which is the largest numerically, are deemed as economic settlers, and live primarily in the well-established major settlement blocks that are likely to remain under Israeli sovereignty after a deal is struck on the partition of the land between Israel and a Palestinian State. This group was enticed to live in the West Bank primarily by the generous tax breaks offered by successive Israeli governments, and by good road communications into Jerusalem. Israel claims many of these settlements around Jerusalem are not settlements at all, but rather housing projects that reflect the demographic growth of Jerusalem. The Palestinians charge they are political settlements, and reflect a concerted Israeli attempt to encircle Jerusalem with Jewish settlements thus ensuring Israeli control over the entire city.

The second group of settlers live in more outlying settlements that have assumed the characteristics and infrastructure of small towns. This group has more of a religious tinge to it, and strongly believes that Judea and Samaria (the Israeli term for the West Bank) should be part of the Jewish state. Many carry weapons, and come under attack from local Palestinians. The location of some of these settlements can be viewed as provocative as they sit near, or next to, Palestinian villages and towns.

Numerically the smallest, the third group is comprised of zealots who live on the periphery -- sometimes with the permission of the Israeli government, and other times illegally. These settlements tend to be small, and look very temporary with settlers living in tents, caravans or prefab huts. These settlers also tend to be the most militant. They firmly believe that they have a God-given right to settle in any part of the West Bank -- and their aim is to create as many outposts as possible in order to make it as difficult as possible for any Israeli government to hand over the land to the Palestinians.

Just before World War I, there were a number of terrorist attacks on the United States forces in the Philippines by, you guessed it, Muslim extremists. So, General Pershing captured 50 terrorists and had them tied to posts execution-style. He then had his men bring in two pigs and slaughtered them in front of the, now horrified, terrorists.

The soldiers then soaked their bullets in the pigs blood, and proceeded to execute 49 of the terrorists by firing squad. The soldiers then dug a big hole, dumped in the terroristsbodies and covered them in pig blood, entrails, etc.

They let the 50th man go. For the next forty-two years, there was not a single Muslim extremist attack anywhere in the world. To them, eating or touching a pig, its meat, its blood, etc., is to be instantly barred from paradise and those 72 virgins and doomed to hell. Its where they belong. Along with the self-haters.

4. CNN: Arab plan to blow up Brooklyn Bridge
SOURCE: U.S District Court documents

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- An Ohio trucker has admitted to helping plan al Qaeda attacks in the United States after meeting terror chief Osama bin Laden at an Afghanistan terror training camp.

Iyman Faris, 34, checked out the chances of destroying a New York bridge and tried to buy equipment for proposed al Qaeda attacks while appearing to be a law-abiding trucker, according to documents unsealed Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia.

Faris pleaded guilty May 1 to providing material support to al Qaeda and to conspiring to do so, according to the documents.

Sources told CNN that al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is in U.S. custody, told his interrogators the target was the 116-year-old Brooklyn Bridge.

New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told reporters that Faris is believed to have received instructions directly from senior al Qaeda leaders, including Shaikh Mohammed.

Born in Kashmir in June 1969, Faris entered the United States in May 1994 and became a U.S. citizen in December 1999, working as a truck driver from his home in Columbus, Ohio.

Faris, also known as Mohammad Rauf, surrendered to authorities in March. After weeks of negotiations between Faris, his lawyer and U.S. officials, he entered his guilty plea on May 1. Sentencing is scheduled for August 1.

WHITHER THE MOTIVATION?

1. BRITISH REPORT SEES ARAB WMD ALLIANCE
From: imra@netvision.net.il
LONDON [MENL] -- Britain envisions the formation of a pan-Arab military
alliance armed with weapons of mass destruction.

The Defense Ministry's Joint Doctrine and Concepts Centre has issued a
report that forsees a significant increase in Arab defense and military
cooperation. The report, entitled "Strategic Trends," tries to assess major
development by the year 2030.

The report, which asserts that it does not represent the views of the
ministry, envisions what it terms a coherent, assertive pan-Arab or
pan-Islamic alliance over the next three decades. The alliance would be
bolstered by missile and weapons of mass destruction programs from such
countries as Iran, Libya and Syria.

"In the Middle East continued political tensions centered on
Israel-Palestine will risk wider conflict between Israel and potentially a
coalition including -- in diminishing order of likelihood -- Syria, Iraq,
Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt," the report said. "Depending on the balance of
power between radicals and reformers in both countries, Israel-Iran tensions
may increase. The range of intractable tensions, the key strategic
importance of the region, and the likely proliferation of weapons of mass
destruction will ensure that it remains near the top of the West's security
agenda."

2. Does world hate George W. Bush?
Poll: Many think U.S. more dangerous to global peace than al-Qaida

© 2003 WorldNetDaily.com

If results of a new international poll are to be believed, the world is a hostile place for Americans, and particularly so for President George W. Bush.

The survey of 11,000 people in 11 countries taken over the past month finds 60 percent of non-U.S. citizens hold an unfavorable opinion of Bush, and the U.S. is considered by some as more dangerous than "rogue states."

The countries surveyed were Australia, Canada, Brazil, France, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Russia, South Korea, United Kingdom and the United States.

Respondents in Jordan, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea and Brazil rated America more dangerous than Iran, while respondents from all the countries, except for Australia, Israel and the U.S., rated America more dangerous than Syria.

The BBC reports the unfavorable view of America appears to be directly related to the war in Iraq, American efforts to combat terrorism around the globe and U.S. initiatives to resolve the Mideast crisis.

The survey found over half the sample felt the U.S. "was wrong to invade Iraq," including 81 percent of Russian respondents, and 63 percent of the French. Thirty-seven percent supported the invasion, including 54 percent of UK respondents and 79 percent of the Israeli sample.

Along the same lines, 70 percent surveyed thought the U.S. military could do more to prevent Iraqi casualties.

Americans surveyed expressed strong support for the Iraq invasion, 74 percent, and the military in its efforts to avoid civilian casualties, 70 percent.

Subtracting out American patriotism, the BBC poll found 50 percent hold a very or fairly favorable opinion of America as a whole, as opposed to 40 percent who hold unfavorable views.

Hamas was behind the murder last Friday of American/Israeli Tzvi Goldstein.
They believe that the shooting was carried out by two gunmen from Abu Mazen'

4. Blood of Innocents (Jer. 19:4)
From: Dbenariel@aol.com
The Blood of Innocents (Jer. 19:4)

What Jew isn't familiar with the Talmudic saying: "Whoever saves a single life, saves a whole world"? What Jew can't empathize with those who have no voice, who are considered less than human, and, through no fault of their own, are marked for liquidation? Yet the Gentilized "Jewish" State of Israel has permitted the "whole world" to be destroyed more than a MILLION times!

Apparently, too many Israelis have forgotten these things. Efrat, a pro-life organization, testifies that more than a MILLION innocent children have lost their lives in Israel since 1948! Evil can harden a heart. The big bucks that the abortion industry grinds out can cause some to put cash before conscience. Whereas some may be unaware of how truly abhorrent abortions are, an abortionist sees the child sacrifices offered to the bloodthirsty god called "Choice." An abortionist is without excuse. They've repeatedly taken innocent Jewish life with premeditation. Abortionists have purposely stopped the heartbeat and brainwaves of countless victims of Choice. They've cruelly extinguished the light of Jewish stars (that our father Avraham hoped for) in the evil spirit of pharaoh, Haman and Hitler.

The cult of Choice is the worst symptom evident in society of the Hellenist disease. It sacrifices children upon the hedonistic altars of convenience and irresponsibility in an immoral and idolatrous way. It disguises itself as progressive and enlightened, but it is actually a dark throwback to the pagan rituals performed in the Valley of Hinnom that the prophet Jeremiah condemned (Jer. 7:31).

"They have acted shamefully. They have done abhorrent things - Yet they do not feel shame, and they cannot be made to blush. Assuredly, they shall fall among the falling&" (Jer. 6:15). Where is a Jewissh leader like King Josiah who recognized the seriousness of his nation's deadly sins and did all that he could to avert divine judgment? Will Israel repent of despising their inheritance by surrendering it to sworn enemies? And will Israel act now to stop the pagan practice of aborting their future? Or must Israel fall before Germany and Jerusalem suffer UN occupation?
