Shalom Yair,
The latest terrorist bombings in Jerusalem are dominating our news
coverage. CNN had extensive live coverage, and Netanyahu challenged CNN to
look at and translate the incitements which Arafat issues in Arabic in the
Palestinian media.
Are you, Rabbi Abraham and your friends and family OK? I hope and pray
none were among the injured. I recognized Zion Square as the place where I
stayed for three nights at a motel there (Kirkat Zion). Was the restaurant
damaged where we had the excellent Italian meal after our afternoon at Yad
Vashem and the Holyland Hotel?

2 December: The
brightly-lit cafes,
restaurants and night
spots of central
Jerusalem's main
pedestrian mall were
packed with youngsters
on an ordinary Saturday
night's outing, when two suicide killers blew
themselves up at the heart of the throng. Within
seconds, the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall near Zion
Square filled with screams, flying limbs and pools of
blood, a larger version of the scene seen twice this
week - once in the Afula bus station and again on the
Nazareth-Tel Aviv bus.
But it was not over yet. As the rescue teams, backed
by dozens of ambulances, rushed in to attend the
scores of wounded, a booby-trapped car blew up 100
yards away from the suiciders, adding to the carnage.
The casualty total of 10 dead and 170 wounded, 9
critically and 44 seriously - rose from hour to hour,
packing all the hospitals of the city with injured,
crippled and traumatized victims. The injuries were
more serious than in previous bombings - more torn
bodies - suggesting a new and more powerful type of
explosive. The national blood bank constantly
replenished the city's falling supplies. Outside, the
police combed through downtown streets, examining
every parked car for more booby-traps, before turning
the streets over to the city's cleanup crews.
3.
We and our families are OK but many others are not.
Rabbi Avraham Feld had been near the scene of the explosions a few minutes before they occurred at ca 1130.
He returned to the scene where emergency teams of mainly Orthodox Jews were treating the wounded, moving
out the slain and injured and cleaning up the blood. Since Rabbi Feld knows one of the heads of the emergency teams
present at the scene he approached him and offered to help. His offer was immediately accepted. He was given an
identifying overall and immediately put to work and continued till ca 0400 in the morning. The nearby Cafe Rimon was used
as a temporary shelter for some of the wounded and for preparing the corpses for transit. Cafe Rimon employs about twelve
Arabs. Most of these Arabs (10 out of twelve, -all the younger ones) were openly chortling with jubilation at the tragedy.
4.
European powers have expressed concern about the Palestinians and have gone out of their way to stand up for them.
These European nations oppressed the Jewish people quite grievously in the recent past. They should now be made each to take
in a portion of the Palestinian people. There are not that many. They can work hard, are reasonably intelligent and even sociable
when they want to be. A few hundred thousand in each European country would hardly be noticed.

Israel Forces Take Qalqilya,
Tentative Moves to Deport Arafat
DEBKAfile Special Report
<http://www.debka.com/a_SHRONWAR.jpg> 31 March: Three days into the
massive counter-terror military operation Israeli launched last Friday,
March 29, Israel troops and tanks moved from four directions on their
second target: the West Bank town of Qalqilya.
Yasser Arafat was meanwhile penned in two rooms of his three-storey
government center in Ramallah. Israeli soldiers had fought their way and
broken through walls to the adjoining room. By Sunday afternoon, the
gunbattle had died down. Israeli tanks were lined up neatly in the parking
lot. Food was delivered to Arafat's quarters with a steady supply of
candles.
Taking advantage of his personal immunity - the result of a pledge Israeli
prime minister Ariel Sharon gave President George W. Bush - Arafat refused
Israel's demand to turn over the terror activists and masterminds he was
harboring in his quarters, including Tawfiq Tirawi, general intelligence
chief and commander of the Fatah's al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, PFLP secretary
Ahmed Sadat and the assassins of Israeli minister Zeevi.
Between 50 and 60 of the deadliest terror activists on Israel's wanted list
are believed to be sheltering in Arafat's quarters and the command center
of West Bank Security chief Jibril Rajoub's in Bitunya, which is likewise
surrounded.
Some of the wanted men attempted Sunday to slip out with a group of
left-wing pro-Palestinian protesters from European countries who gained
access to Arafat. The fugitives were picked up and Ramallah declared a
closed military zone.
Thus far, Israeli troops have captured 500 suspected terrorists in
Ramallah. Thirteen Palestinians were killed since Friday.
Intelligence operatives accompanying the troops scoured the files in the
Palestinian leader's headquarters, collecting documentary evidence linking
Arafat and members of his inner circle to the orchestration of terror
atrocities. They also turned up huge depots of banned weapons, such as 43
RPGs, 200 Kalashnikov assault rifles and anti-tank missiles, as well as
millions of counterfeit Israeli currency notes and a good stock of Jewish
skullcaps.
...
In Haifa, 16 Jews and Arabs were killed and 38 injured in an Arab-owned
restaurant that was burned to the ground by an Israeli Arab suicide bomber
who lived in the Palestinian town of Jenin. In the Gush Etzion bloc town of
Efrat, south of Bethlehem, a Palestinian sanitary worker in the local first
aid station blew up his place of work, injuring six Israelis, the duty
paramedic critically.
Saturday night, a popular Tel Aviv restaurant was struck by another suicide
bomber, leaving 30 youngsters out for a good time, maimed.
Sunday morning, intercity traffic in central Israel was thrown into havoc
when police blocked sections of the old Mediterranean coastal highway
because of a terror alert.
Clearly, the Israeli operation has a long way to go. Sunday afternoon, with
30,000 reservists in the process of mobilization, the Israeli defense
cabinet approved the military action's expansion beyond Ramallah. Prime
Minister Sharon went on the air with an address to the nation.
Declaring Israel was at war, he focused heavily on the culpability of one
man - the chairman of the Palestinian Authority - as the root, source,
leader and instigator of terrorism, obstacle to peace, enemy of Israel and
the free world, and threat to regional stability.
He vowed to root out terrorism so as to clear a path to peace at what he
called a crucial moment in Israeli history.
In addition to pointing the finger of blame at Arafat, DEBKAfile 's
political sources report Sharon became involved in secret preliminary
diplomatic moves to "root out" Arafat by sending him into political exile.
This was the subject of the first conversation he held with King Muhammad
VI of Morocco Sunday. The initiative appears to have come from parties
concerned with Arafat's well-being, namely the UN Secretary and some Arab
and EU governments. The live wires behind the initiative are the Moroccan
King and UN and European Middle East envoys, Terje Larsen and Miguel
Moratinos.
A parallel track is reportedly active to pick Arafat's successor after he
exits the scene, a discussion which also touches on the fate of Palestinian
leaders listed by Israel as terror activists.
<http://www.debka.com/TERRORTELA.jpg> 31 March:
According to DEBKAfile's military sources, the Israeli prime minister is
running the Ramallah operation in person because of the high stakes
involved.
In the 48 hours of the Ramallah operation, military intelligence and Shin
Beit operatives, who went in with Israeli forces, collected documentary
proofs from Arafat's presidential suite linking the Palestinian leader in
person and his most trusted lieutenants - some with high diplomatic
standing in the international community - to some of the most horrifying
terror outrages in Israeli cities, including Jerusalem.

Michael Widlanski:CAR BOMBER THWARTED IN JERUSALEM WHILE ISRAELI ARMY ENTERS
4 CITIES AS ARAB CROWDS URGE WAR AGAINST ISRAEL
Tuesday, April 02, 2002 12:13 AM
Israeli army units entered or expanded their control Monday of four cities
in the West Bank-Ramallah, Tulkarm, Bethlehem and Qalqilya-- amid an
unexpectedly high turn-out of Israeli reserve soldiers to mobilization
call-up orders.
An Israeli policeman was critically injured when he blocked a Palestinian
car bomber from driving his explosive-filled car from entering the heart of
the city's downtown area that has suffered several recent terror attacks.
"There's no doubt that this was a huge explosive charge and that a great
disaster was prevented," said Israeli police commander Mickey Levi.
North and south of Jerusalem, meanwhile, the Israeli army (IDF) units
appeared to be moving slowly but effectively in rounding up hundreds of
suspected terrorists and confiscating their weapons even as the Arab
satellite television stations (Al-Jazeera and Abu Dhabi) reported that IDF
units had "executed" more than 30 Palestinians.
Israel totally denied the charges, and independent reports showed that it
was actually the Palestinians who had begun to "execute"-sometimes in lynch
style-between 12 and 15 Arabs accused of "cooperating" with Israel in the
towns of Bethlehem and Ramallah over the last few days.
But the charges of Israeli atrocities aired on Arab television seemed to
fuel passions throughout the Arab world, which, until now, has been largely
indifferent to the fate of Yasser Arafat and his Palestinian Authority.
The often hysterical reports from Al-Jazeera and Abu Dhabi Television,
sometimes featuring Israeli Arab knesset members, seemed deliberately
designed to foment Arab reaction against Israel and the United States.
"We will show that Arab blood is not like water," shouted one man clad in
the Arab kaffiyeh headband during a protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in
Beirut-one of many protests broadcast over the satellite channels.
"Sharon is a dog, and should be treated like a dog," yelled a caller from
Saudi Arabia on a call-in show on Abu Dhabi television.
Large crowds of Arab protesters surged through the capital cities and
universities of several Arab countries-Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan
and Libya-often attacking the embassies of the United States and Israel
(where Israel has an embassy) and urging the Arab states to unleash their
military machines against Israel.
"The battle is after all a battle of all the Arabs, not just the
Palestinians," said Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, urging all Arabs to unite.
"I am sure that the Palestinians will win even if they have to fight by
themselves," said the Iraqi dictator, during an interview on Iraqi
television.
In Israel, meanwhile, there seemed to be an unusual sense of consensus among
the members of the Israeli cabinet about continuing the military campaign
against the Palestinians.
"We have lost 130 people to Palestinian terror in one month, and that is
like the Twin Towers disaster for us," asserted Transportation Minister
Ephraim Sneh of the dovish Labor Party.
"We have clear directions-to destroy the terror infrastructure and to disarm
the terrorists," said Justice Minister Meir Shitreet of the rightist Likud
Party.
Shitreet said that he and other members of the cabinet would continue the
operation even if it was criticized by world leaders.
"I don't care what the world says," asserted Shitreet. "The world doesn't
care that 130 of our people were murdered in the last month by murderers
sent by Arafat.
"No other country in the world would suffer this kind of bleeding for 17
months," continued Shitreet.
Asked if he was concerned about the fate of Yasser Arafat, Shitreet said,
"Arafat should be happy that he's alive. He's broken every agreement he ever
signed with us."

4. General Dan Chalutz head of the Israeli Air Force in an interview to
"Yediot Acharonot" said:
"In the Middle East anyone who is weak dies".
"The present was is one of the most important wars we have ever had."
"If we do not do everything we can now to win, next time we will have to go
for higher stakes, and it won't be long before we cannot go any higher".
5. Arab savants say that Arafat and his men do not really want a Palestine
State. Arafat in the past used to enter a classroom of Palestinian children
and kill a puppy dog in front of them to teach them ruthlessness. Arafat is
interested in the destruction of the Jewish people and eliminating the
Jewish presence here. It does not matter to them which Arab entity rules
here in place of the Jews. It does not matter how many Palestinians die in
the process. Paradoxically the only way to ensure that a large number of
Palestinians are not killed needlessly would be through ensuring a quick
Israeli victory.
Reactions to "Jerusalem News":
6. Greetings Yair, I enjoy the Jerusalem - News. Please try to continue
sending it. Some of the news I have from other sources, but I want to hear
all there is to hear about Israel. Especially news with a personal

10. France is a perfect example for all of us in how NOT to deal with Arabs.
If a nation feeds into the "imagined" plight of the enemy, it is only a
matter of time before the enemy will stab it in the back. The Arab world
could care less about France. France has laid itself wide open for attack
yet scratches it head at how all this bad stuff could possibly happen to
them when they were so sympathetic and understanding and nice to the enemy.
Well...would YOU hand-feed a hyena?
For Arabs, France is just a stupid unwitting vehicle to further their
own agenda against Jews. Unfortunately, France is pushing the self-destruct
button without any help... unless that is, they choose to wake up and see
reality.

12. Dear Yair
Our hearts are with you at this time and we pray that your people and your
leaders will find the wisdom within our traditions to avert further
tragedies.
I spoke with an Israeli journalist here last year and he was very sad. he
said that we in Northern Ireland are in the springtime of our peace process
while his people, your people - Israel - are in the winter.
I am very sorry to see the suffering and cannot but feel in some way a part
of you at this time.
Bless you.

Answer from Brit-Am:
Regarding your parents: If one of your parents is from Israel then you are
probably Israelite on both sides. Usually people marry those who are of the
same source as themselves.
Regarding what you can do: nothing much you could do at present, except
look after yourselves, pray, study, support Brit-Am and where possible
fellowship with other Brit-Am members.

14. In "Lost Israelite Identity" in a long footnote we explained why we
considered "Damascus" in Scripture to refer to a place far to the north of
the present Damascus. We used mainly Biblical considerations. It has since
been brought to our attention that according to Archaeological evidence
there were two places identified as 'Damascus" in Assyrian inscriptions:
One is the present Damascus in southern Syria whereas the other "Damascus"
was far to the northwest near the border of Iraq and Syria and the Khabur
River. This is near the location we suggested and shows that we were on
the right track.

16: Iraq, Syria, and Iran give generous sums of money to the families of
suicide bombers. In certain situations when families are in bad
circumstances and one is near desperation then suicide bombing becomes an
option.
Palestinians have begun lynching and killing Arabs suspected of
co-operating with Israeli security forces. One such suspect said that he
was tempted as a result to kill a Jew since then he would only go to Jail
where he would be locked up and protected from his fellow Palestinians.
Recently a 16 year old girl was used as a suicide bomber.
17. In Arab society a girl or woman who has even been suspected of sexual
immorality is liable to be put to death. Even if she was forced by others
into immoral actions she can still be held responsible and disposed of. In
the past women who had so "strayed" aside were sometimes given the option
of participating in terrorist attacks in order to "atone:" for themselves.

The Media's 'Occupation' Myth
By David Harsanyi
FrontPageMagazine.com | March 29, 2002
<<Palestinians, pawns in a regional push to eliminate Jews in the Middle
East, have instigated a war against the civilian population of Israel - a
portion of which was previously sympathetic to their cause. Over the past
decades the PLO, the world's leading terrorist organization, has morphed
into the Palestinian Authority, but their goal remains the same: the
destruction of Israel.
<<Fact is, Jews have had a continued presence in Israel for 3,000 years and
have never relinquished their claim. Arabs rejected the United Nations
resolution of November 29, 1947 calling for the establishment of two states
in Palestine, with an all out war to eliminate Jews enacted by the Arab
world. After the 1967 War - another war of Arab aggression -- Israel
recovered a small remnant (13% in whole) of what was promised to them by
the UN - eventually handing back the Sinai Desert for peace with Egypt in
1977.
Between 1948-1967, Jordan and Egypt, who governed the West Bank and Gaza,
respectively, never offered to surrender those lands to form an independent
Palestinian state. No Palestinian organization ever sought an independent
state. No Arab country had even suggested its existence. An Arab Palestine
has never been the name of any nation or state. 'Palestine' was a
geographical term used only to identify administrative boundaries within
larger empires, nothing more.
<<Mark Twain, a man, one would think, as devoid of 'imperialistic Zionist'
intentions, wrote in 1867 that Palestine was "a desolate country whose soil
is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds." Yet, Arabs have claimed
that over a million refugees were forced from their homes during the 1948
War of Independence - this number includes Arabs whose relatives entered
Israel from 1946 onward. The number of Arab refugees is probably closer to
400,000, most of whom took it upon themselves to flee despite Jewish
assurances that they would not be harmed. The contention that Arabs were
removed by gunpoint is totally incorrect. Research by the Arab-sponsored
Institute for Palestinians Studies in Beirut found that "the majority of
the Arab refugees in 1948 were not expelled and 68 percent left without
ever seeing an Israeli soldier."
In her meticulously researched book, From Time Immemorial, Joan Peters
proves that a roughly equivalent number of Jewish refugees were expelled
from Arab nations during the same period -- 120,000 from Iraq alone. It is
estimated that one million immigrants were integrated into Israel's society
from 1948-1950.
None of them, on the other hand, were confined for life to refugee camps.

REALITY CREATION FOR THE IGNORANT
by Barry Chamish
On September 30, 2000, a twelve year old Gazan boy named Muhammed ad-Dura
was shot while huddled against a wall with his father, trapped in a
firefight between the PLO and the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). The shooting
was filmed by French TV and the PLO exploited the incident to fuel a bloody
terror war against Israel, turning the boy into an international martyr
through the foreign media.
Numerous responsible Israelis such as Yaacov Verker and Yosef Doriel
approached this same media with conclusive evidence that the IDF could not
have shot the boy. The film proved that Muhammed ad-Dura was shot from in
front and above. The IDF troops were behind him and at his side.
That meant that the PLO, in an incredibly ugly act of cynicism, shot the
boy and milked him for all that he was worth. And maybe even more: Yaacov
Verker's research led him to the conclusion that ad-Dura survived the
shooting.
For 18 months, the world media refused to accept that the PLO shot the boy,
to the point that when the IDF's own investigatory team reached the same
conclusion, it was subjected to derision. This week, finally, one lone
producer from German TV, Esther Shapira, broadcast the filmed proof that
the IDF were not in position to have done the shooting.
It was a rare instance of media truth about Israel and just watch it get
ignored everywhere. The innocent boy will continue to be a victim of
Israeli cruelty no matter what the the truth because the major world media
are serving their political bosses' agenda of destroying Israel by pumping
up the anti-semitism, especially in Europe, to pre-Holocaust levels.
Comment by Brit-Am: The mother of the boy who was shot made ambiguous
statements after the shooting and may have been in fear of her life at the
hands of her "Palestinian" neighbors.

1. Rain: Over Pesach we had quite a bit of rain. It even snowed for a few hours in Jerusalem. This is unusual for this time of year since the Passover (Pesach)
has to come in the Aviv (Abib) month i.e at the beginning of Spring. Nevertheless the rains were a blessing and helped replenish the seriously depleted water supply of Israel.
2. The Unsung Heroes: On the 1.4.02 Tomer Mordecai a 19 year-old policeman from Tel Aviv serving in Jerusalem was part of the team that stopped a suspicious looking vehicle near the center of Jerusalem. In the car was a suicide bomber who panicked and blew himself and the car up killing Tomer. A much more serious event was thus prevented and many lives saved but Tomer was killed.
Nowadays in Jerusalem nearly every major cafe, every large store, even some clothing shops have armed guards at their entrance. These guards were often formerly unemployed. They have a hard job, get payed relatively little and have poor social benefits. In quite a few instances these guards have prevented terrorists from killing many more people than they would have done and quite often the guards themselves have been killed. They are heroes who do their job and knowingly risk their lives for the sake of their fellow man. Those who were injured or killed in their line of duty will be acknowledged for a few minutes by their fellow citizens but their comrades who were also prepared every minute to do the same will go unrecognized. After this present crisis is over the chances are that many of them will be sent back once again to the ranks of the unemployed. Maybe not. Maybe the State of Israel will wake up and be enabled to better utilize properly the human resources the God has blessed us with.
3. Omri Sharon says (Yediot Acharonot 2.4.01) that he and his father Prime Minister Ariel Sharon frequently consult with the mystical Rabbi Yigal Shariki of Ofakim in the Negev. The consultations include Governmental Policy.
4. Over the last day of Pesach three separate terrorist attacks against civilians were attempted and on each occasion the terrorists were located during the attempt by the Defence forces and eliminated thus saving many lives. (YA 4.4.02).
5. Donald Rumsfeld, the US Secretary of Defence reports that Sad Hussein of Iraq remunerates the family of every Palestinian suicide attacker with a prize ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 (YA 4.4.02).
6. Brit-Am News: A ancient Celtic calendar from Gaul (the Calendar of Coligny) uses a script similar to the Phoenician or ancient Hebrew script. The Calendar is based on a combination of solar and lunar cyclical calculations that may identical to that of the Ancient Hebrews or at least based on similar principals. The Calendar also includes a picture of a god or Celtic hero named Samonios. In "The Tribes" we mentioned our conclusion that many Israelites from the Tribe of Simeon were to be found amongst the Western Celts. "Samonios" would be a form of the name "Simeon".

MILLIONS OF DOLLARS'
Michael Widlanski:
The army said that it was still counting the hordes of
counterfeit money Arafat had stashed in his headquarters, but the IDF
revised its estimate of the size of the counterfeit cache to "millions of
shekels as well as millions of dollars," according to Brig. Gen. Ron Kitrey,
the IDF Spokesman.
"From what I could see most of the dollars were $100-bills (hundred-dollar
bills) of the old variety with the picture of Benjamin Franklin," said one
IDF officer.
In addition to the millions in phony money, the IDF seized printing plates
for producing counterfeit Israeli currency in denominations of 50, 100 and
200 shekels.
Plates for American currency have not yet been found in Arafat's compound,
though Israeli intelligence has long suspected Arafat of counterfeiting both
dollars and shekels sicne he was involved in the same kind of activity in
Lebanon in the 1970's and early 1980's.
Israeli officials said that the large-scale counterfeiting could have had
two goals:
*--To pay agents and terrorists;
*--And to undermine the Israeli economy which has already been hurt by the
18-month-long war of attrition.
Prime Minister Sharon said that he would be willing to let Arafat
leave the West Bank only on "a one-way ticket"-never to return.

CBS Poll: Americans Back Israel
NEW YORK, April 3, 2002
[With thanks to AIPAC]
Americans' sympathies are with Israel in the current fighting in the Middle
East, and most say Israel's recent action sending troops to surround Yasser
Arafat's headquarters was justified, according to a CBS News poll.
By a margin of five to one, Americans sympathize more with Israel.
Fifty-two percent say that, while just 10 percent sympathize more with the
Palestinians. Fifteen percent, however, sympathize with neither. Americans
reactions today are not much different from the sentiments they have
expressed in the past.
By nearly three to one, Americans say Israel was justified in taking
military action in response to the latest wave of terrorist bombings that
began last week. Sixty-five percent think the response was justified, 23
percent that it was not.
Fifty-nine percent say what happens in Israel is very important to the
United States, but there is no consensus on exactly how the U.S. should
respond to events there and not even a consensus on whether the U.S. has a
responsibility to do anything.
In general, while American sympathies lie with Israel, there is as much
support for doing nothing as there is for taking a public stand in support.
And on the other side, there is more support for keeping quiet than there
is for criticizing the Palestinians and their leader Yasser Arafat.
Despite their ambivalence, Americans are following events in the Middle
East. Seven in ten say they are paying close attention to news about the
fighting.

This poll was conducted among a nationwide random sample of 616 adults
interviewed by telephone April 1-2, 2002. The error due to sampling could
be plus or minus four percentage points for results based on the entire

After spending a month in the Land of Israel, I am convinced it is truly a land flowing with 'milk and honey'. I've never saw so much fresh food anywhere in my travels like I saw in Israel. Truly a land blessed by her Creator. It is true there are giants in the land but they are puny in the sight of the Elohim of Israel. I am being drawn more and more into serious prayer for Israel and a more diligent understanding and doing her Torah.
We were with the Ephraim tour and at the conference in Jerusalem, then we spent another 2 weeks traveling the land.

11. Dear Yair,
I wish to thank you for the news of Israel you send and for the other emails you send also.
I am very sad about all the stress and suffering the Jews in Israel are having to live with. Its hard to imagine living with the stress of the bombings day after day, never knowing where and when another bomb will explode. After the twin towers fell the people everywhere here in America had this heavy feeling of sadness that just wouldn't go away. It was just there with us everywhere we went.
I know that someday all Israel will be reunited, keep God's commandments and have peace.
Keep up the good work and never give up.

12.Yair: The Jerusalem News post you send is great and for all the reasons your readers also feel. Lions of Judah in Judah, [art] yeah? Besides Rueben again being unstable as water [France: antisemitism] China has had demonstrators in the street against Israel. Scary declaration of state intent as China does not allow demonstrations in the street. Regarding the German film which supports evidence that the IDF did not shoot the 12 year old palestinian, our media stated two weeks ago that this was out there . . . however, nothing again has been said or mentioned. Certainly, we have not seen it. The media lies here are incredible: Geraldo Rivera interviewing--an INTERVIEW?--a Hamas leader for a balanced report. And some dim twit from FoxNews standing on her head to try and make this an equitable 'both sides' war every night. In the end, your God is mine and your land is mine. God Bless and keep you all. Kyna.
13. Yair:
My prayers are with you at this time. Thank you for sending us updates on what is happening. I am a believer and know that G-d will be with his people. We need to pray for President Bush that G-d will lead him in this time of war (and it is a war).

Documents: Yasser Arafat's "Moukata" Compound in Ramallah - A Center for
Controlling and Supporting Terrorism
IDF Spokesperson's Office
Arafat's compound in Ramallah houses the office of Fuad Shoubaki, the
accounting administration of the Palestinian General Security Service.
Shoubaki is the chief procurement and finance officer of the Palestinian
Authority and was one of the key players involved in the "Karine A" arms
smuggling affair.
.....One document captured in Ramallah, for example, is a
request from Al-Aksa officials, dated September 16th, asking Shoubaki for
money to prepare bombs - "the costs of making one explosive charge is at
least 700NIS. Each week, we require 5 to 9 charges for cells operating in
the various regions".
Shoubaki also provided ongoing funding for the activity of the Al-Aksa
Brigades in the Bethlehem region, when he transferred monthly salaries to
the organization's activists in the area. Also, he was involved in
purchasing weapons, which were stolen towards the end of the year 2000 from
an IDF base in the area. These weapons were later used to carry out attacks
against Israeli civilians in the area of Jerusalem.
The Al-Aksa Brigades organization carried out suicide and "Self Sacrifice"
(terrorist shooting) attacks in growing numbers in the last six months:
The network established by Shoubaki includes Iran and Iraq on the one hand
(countries which are a part of the "Axis of Evil") and branches of the Fatah
hiding behind the name "Al Aksa Brigades" on the other.
Regarding the structure of the Palestinian Authority, the head of the
Palestinian Authority is Yassir Arafat. General, Abdul Razik al-Majaida is
the head of the General Secuity and Fuad Shoubaki who is head of the finance
apparatus is subordinate to Majaida, but it practice operates adjacent to
Arafat.

Arafat’s Book-Keeping Department Yields Bill Linking Him to Suicides
This piece of correspondence was discovered by Israeli troops who went through the files in Yasser Arafat’s personal accounting department in Ramallah. It is an itemized bill signed by the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades – Palestine, and dated September 16, 2001, exactly five days after the September 11 suicide attacks in the United States.
The document is a routine request for Arafat to approve the daily outlay for the arming of suicides with explosives and ammo, their memorial ceremonies and funeral posters.
It is part of the body of evidence Israeli troops gleaned at Arafat’s headquarters in Ramallah and demonstrates that Arafat supervised every last detail of the Palestinian suicide offensive.

that he and his lieutenants had been planning a war of attrition
(misleadingly called the “intifada”) well before September 2000—perhaps as
early as late 1995—and that they had no intention of reaching a peaceful
settlement with Israel.
Additional documents reveal close links between Arafat and Islamic terror
groups such as HAMAS and the Holy Land Foundation (connected to Al-Qaeda).
The documents also show that the Palestinian Authority has a strong
relationship with Saddam Hussein's Iraq, that the PA received financial
support from Iraqi oil revenues made under special arrangements with the
U.N. Finally, the documents repeatedly show Arafat’s day-to-day control of
the details of all his terrorist organizations. These document demonstrate
that Arafat was quite serious when he said "peace means the destruction of
Israel.”

THE ANTI-TERROR WAR: IDF TAKES SHECHEM, FIGHTS IN JENIN AND BETHLEHEM
IDF ground troops, accompanied by over 100 tanks - some reports say "hundreds" - and other armored vehicles, took over almost all of the PLO-controlled city of Shechem last night. The forces, with aerial cover from helicopter gunships, faced heavy fire from Arab gunmen. One IDF soldier was lightly wounded during the incursion and was transferred to a local hospital. The IDF is also operating in the cities and towns of Ramallah, Kalkilye, Bethlehem, Beit Jala, Tul Karem, Jenin, Salfit, Bitunya, and Idna in Israel's fight against the Palestinian Moslem terrorism.
Over 200 armed Tanzim terrorists continue to use the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem as their "safe haven," and IDF forces are encircling the building. One Arab was killed in the exchange of fire. Ten terrorists held several nuns as hostages, but then escaped through a back door that they blew open.
JOSEPH'S TOMB BECKONS
Arutz-7 has learned that our forces in Shechem (Nablus) are very close to the holy site of Joseph's Tomb - but are not entering it because the Arabs booby-trapped it with large amounts of explosives, ready at any moment to be detonated by remote-control. It will be recalled that the IDF withdrew from Joseph's Tomb at the beginning of the Oslo War in what was later to become shamefully remembered as the "abandonment" of IDF soldier Madhat Yusuf, who was wounded and bled to death at the holy site; army troops did not storm the area, but instead negotiated, in vain, with Jibril Rajoub over the wounded soldier's evacuation.
ISRAEL AND JEWS ARE LINKED, FOR BETTER AND WORSE
World anti-Semitism is on the rise. Norway's largest supermarket chain has decided to boycott all Israeli goods, and called on all its Scandinavian competitors to do the same... A poll released in Oslo, Norway's capital, shows that only 9% of the public supports Israel... Sweden is considering calling an economic boycott on Israel... In France, yet another synagogue was firebombed and caught fire last night, this time in Montpelier; no one was hurt... In a separate incident, a bus belonging to a Jewish school in a Paris suburb was also set ablaze... In Finland today, police evacuated three Jewish institutions - a synagogue, a home for the elderly, and a school - in central Helsinki today after a bomb threat was received.
The Swiss government is also reconsidering its relations with Israel, explaining that it cannot bear to have contacts with a country that must defend itself: "Until recently we had contact with a country that was engaged in a peace process and had signed agreements with Palestinian authorities," said Swiss Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Muriel Berset Kohen, "but now Prime Minister Ariel Sharon openly says Israel is at war."
RAINS OF BLESSING
The Kinneret Sea now stands at 213.5 meters below sea level, only a half-meter below the original government-mandated minimum red line. The minimum level beyond which the Kinneret is forbidden to fall has been lowered by 2.5 meters in the past two years, after it was found that the feared irreparable damage to Kinneret water quality - by plant-growth accumulation and sediments - did not materialize. The current level is thus exactly two meters above the official red line.
The Kinneret, the country's largest reservoir, has risen 35 centimeters in the past 15 days, and 25 centimeters in the past eight days - an increase of 40 million cubic meters in Israel's water supply. Kinneret Authority head Tzvi Otenberg told Arutz-7 today,
"Passover was a blessed holiday, in that G-d sent us much rain - and in an organized and convenient way in terms of the water being absorbed and gathered together. Much of the rain fell directly on the Kinneret, and more fell in the areas from where it rolled into the Kinneret, and will continue to do so for several weeks... This winter was pretty good, and it could have been much worse, but it's almost like aspirin for a cancer patient - we're still missing 4.6 meters to get to the optimum - and we need solutions such as desalination urgently. However, if until two weeks ago I thought that our situation at the end of this summer would be the worst it ever was, taking us way below the -215 meter mark, it now looks like it won't be worse than last year, when we stopped going down at -214.87."
SPEAKING FROM THE FIELD
Arutz-7 spoke today with several soldiers on active duty in the current war against terrorism: its own editor and reporter Ariel Kahane, chief news technician Yoav F., and Knesset Member Eli Cohen of the Likud. Kahane, stationed in central Bethlehem, said, "We are in the armored forces, although most of the troops here are ground forces and they are doing most of the work - going house-to-house in the search for wanted terrorists and ammunition. The fighting was fairly tough the first day, while now all or most of the wanted terrorists have already escaped to the Church of the Nativity..."
Yoav F. said that he is stationed in what was Arafat's Bethlehem "palace," and noted that the luxurious conditions Arafat ensured for himself contrast strongly with the stark conditions in which most of his "citizens" live.
SPECIAL SYNAGOGUE SOLIDARITY
Several leading American Orthodox Jewish organizations, including the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, Young Israel, and the Rabbinical Council of America, have issued a call to all synagogues and members to recite extra prayers in light of the crisis facing Israel. In conjunction with Israel's Chief Rabbinate, the groups call for the daily recitation of Psalms 20, 83, 121, 130, and 142. In addition, "all synagogue members - men, women and children - should gather at their local synagogue" for a special prayer-and-awakening ceremony this coming Saturday night. Various communities throughout Israel will also be joining in this effort.

#1 Nation united to liberate the country from terror
Despite the media hyped campaign of the radical Left to encourage reservists
to refuse to serve and an expensive propaganda campaign sponsored in large
part by the European Union and other foreign interests that was geared to
undermine our nation's will, with the exception of the radical Israeli Left,
Israel today stands united in this critical campaign to liberate our nation
from terror.
There are army units reporting over a 100% turnout to the reserve call-up as
men who already retired from their units volunteer to join in this battle to
protect their families from terror.

The Morality Of Transfer
Boris Shusteff
"One single act of compulsion is better for both sides than perpetual friction" (Israel Zangwill).

http://www.gamla.org.il/english/article/2002/jan/s1.htm
On September 20, 1998 the Israeli daily Maariv published the results of a survey conducted among Israeli Jews. One of the questions was formulated in the following way: "Do you agree with deporting all the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza if Israel does not pay a diplomatic price for that?" 65% of respondents answered "Yes," 26% said "No" and 9% did not give their opinion. Nevertheless, it is not the fear of diplomatic complications that is the main reason why Israel does not loudly advocate the transfer of Arabs out of Eretz Yisrael. The real issue lies within the moral sphere, in which the opinion is virtually unanimous - transfer is immoral and therefore cannot be used to solve political problems. Perhaps if this idea of transfer is taken out of the context of real life and considered in the vacuum of a perfect world, it could be seen this way. However, due to the extremely explosive relationships between Israel and her Arab neighbors and the almost biological hatred that Arabs feel towards the Jews, the transfer of Arabs from Eretz Yisrael (which includes Israel, Judea, Samaria and Gaza) is significantly better than the current situation from a moral standpoint. Let us look carefully at the moral issues involved.
....The Jews will always be convinced that their claim to Eretz Yisrael is irrefutable. By the same token, the Arabs will never stop saying that their connection with Palestine is ages old. For the sake of argument, we will use the position stated in 1945 by the Reverend James Parkes. He wrote,
"so far as rights are concerned, both Jews and Arabs have unchallengeable cases… therefore one would have to give way to the other…. From the standpoint of need it seems to me clear that the decision lies in favor of the Jews" - the Arabs having "lands stretching from the Atlantic to Iran" (1).
It is this point, that "one would have to give way to the other," which is the foundation of the necessity for transfer. However, first we must take a brief look at the history of the conflict. Two groups of people claim the same territory. Since the beginning of the controversy in 1917 (if we take the Balfour Declaration and the British Mandate as the starting point), one of the claimants - the Jews - has always been ready to share the territory. The other claimants - the Arabs - have remained adamantly against recognizing any Jewish rights to the territory and even now reject the historical link between the Jews and Eretz Yisrael. In 1922, with the separation of Transjordan, the Jews were forbidden to settle on almost 77% of the disputed territory, while Arab settlement went unrestricted. By 1993, the year the infamous Oslo process began, the Arab state of Jordan occupied those 77%, while Israel, the Jewish state, huddled on 18% of the original British Mandate land, with the remaining 5% of the territory still in dispute, though, technically, under very reluctant Israeli control. Unable to squeeze Israel out from the land that the Jewish state obtained in 1948 (after withstanding the bloody assault of seven Arab states at once), the Arabs never relinquished the hope of conquering the land from the Jews. After losing additional territory in 1967 and 1973 and failing to defeat Israel militarily, they are now trying regain the land through a diplomatic process.
Well aware that the world community will not support blatant efforts to completely eliminate Israel, the Arabs now devote their activity to first obtaining the disputed and unallocated 5% of the lands of the former British Mandate. They demand the lands historically known as Judea, Samaria and Gaza for the creation of yet another Arab state.
Who are the Palestinian Arabs? Majority of them are the descendants of those Arabs who flocked to Palestine from other Arab countries in the beginning of the 19th century, hoping to obtain employment and better living standards where the Jews were beginning to reclaim and develop Eretz Yisrael. Today these Palestinian Arabs either languish in refugee camps in various Arab countries or live in misery and the worst of conditions in Arafatland. Daily and nightly they are fed by their leaders the fairy tale of "returning to their homes in Palestine."
...
Israel's existence has unequivocally proven one thing: the Jews and the Arabs cannot live together on land that both claim is theirs. If the Arabs were not under the constant ill influence of their leaders, perhaps this coexistence might be possible. But since it is impossible to remove this influence, there is no other solution except transfer. Already in 1937 Arab enmity towards the Jews was apparent to the authors of the Peel Commission Report, which stated in its 22nd chapter that, "the existence of Jews in the Arab State and Arabs in the Jewish State would clearly constitute 'the most serious hindrance to the smooth and successful operation of Partition' " (1). Therefore the authors of the Report were advocating transfer, stating, "If Partition is to be effective in promoting a final settlement it must mean more than drawing a frontier and establishing two States. Sooner or later there should be a transfer of land, and as far as possible, an exchange of population." (1).
It is no secret that the Arab attitude towards the Jews has not changed since 1937, and has even became worse in some cases. It is enough to quote only one absolutely outrageous result of a recent survey in order to understand the magnitude of the Arab hatred towards the Jews. The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) in Ramallah and the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem conducted this poll among Palestinian Arabs during the week of December 19-24, 2001. They found that "69% of Palestinians would not view as an act of terrorism the future use of chemical and biological weapons against Israel by Palestinians, but when committed by Israel 93% of Palestinians would define it as terror."
It is the Arab hatred toward the Jews that makes the transfer of Arabs from Eretz Yisrael a must. The Jews and the Palestinian Arabs cannot live together. One of the parties must be resettled. We return to Rev. Parkes's words: "one would have to give way to the other." There are only two options. Either the Arabs have to vacate western Palestine or the Jews must abandon Eretz Yisrael. Since Israel is the only Jewish state in the world, the Jews have nowhere else to go. At the same time the Arabs can be resettled in one or more of two dozen Arab countries. In the decade prior to the Second World War there were many proposals and ideas pertaining to this population exchange.
.. Abraham Sharon (Schwadron), a Zionist writer who settled in Palestine in 1927, understood much more than we understand today, in the twenty first century. He wrote in 1941,
"Zionism has come and shown us a new way - a radical solution for quarrels between peoples living in one land by means of the transfer of one of the peoples to a different territory; a transfer that is not an uprooting and a destruction but a planting and an alleviation. It is certainly a very difficult and complicated solution, but it is fundamental, realistic and of enduring value" (1).
Somehow we never think that the biggest achievements in the history of the mankind happened through transfer of the people. Such stalwarts of democracy as America and Australia came into existence through transfer. Israel Zangwill, one of the rare transfer proponents among Zionists, wrote in 1904 that there would have to be a complete clearance of various false theories, such as that of migration being a tragedy. "This is one of the most conspicuous falsehoods in the world. Migration is a fortunate experience. In ninety-nine cases out of a hundred the transferees have found their new territories to be better, more spacious and healthier" (1). Several years later Zangwill wrote,
"As could be seen from Canada and the Transvaal leaving races put up in one territory led to trouble and friction. The World War had been fought to break up the dangerous sources of friction in Austria and Hungary. Where was the logic of creating in Palestine a minor Austria artificially? The races should separate as Abraham did from Lot" (1).
Zangwill was not the only person who realized that the elimination of sources of friction through transfer is a very viable solution. A much greater political leader made a similar proposal. Herbert Hoover, the thirty-first President of the United States wrote in 1943 in a book The Problems of Lasting Peace, "Consideration should be given even to the heroic remedy of transfer of populations… the hardship of moving is great, but it is less than the constant suffering of minorities and the constant recurrence of war" (1).
Hoover was advocating the transfer of the Palestinian Arabs to Iraq with its fertile soil and severe under-population (a transfer that a later American president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, also supported).
...Hoover did not built his proposal on sand. By this time the world community had already achieved tremendous success in the compulsory exchange of population between Greece and Turkey following the Greco-Turkish War of 1922. The transfer in that case was proposed by Nobel Peace prize-winner Dr. Fridtjof Nansen who was the League of Nations' first High Commissioner for refugees. That transfer was sanctioned by the League of Nations and carried out under the guidance of a mixed commission. Altogether nearly two million people were transferred: 1,300,000 Greeks and some 400,000 Turks, and the transfer was completed within eighteen months. The Peel Report that recommended the transfer of the Arabs, described in 1937 the world's reaction to Nansen's transfer operation,
"Dr. Nansen was sharply criticized at the time for the inhumanity of his proposal, and the operation manifestly imposed the gravest hardships on multitudes of people. But the courage of the Greek and Turkish statesmen concerned has been justified by the result. Before the operation the Greek and Turkish minorities had been a constant irritant. Now the ulcer had been clean cut out, and Greco-Turkish relations, we understand are friendlier than they have ever been before" (1).
Several days after the publication of the Peel Report, Abraham Bonne, who was Director of the Economic Archives for the Near East in Jerusalem, wrote that the Peel Commission came to the conclusion regarding Palestine that "the racial antagonism between Jews and Arabs could only be settled by very radical means, i.e. by the exchange of population" (1).
It is very unfortunate that this warning about the antagonism between Jews and Arabs went unnoticed. It is a tragedy that there were no brave Israeli or world statesmen at that time who could have brought to fruition a plan to transfer the Palestinian Arabs from western Palestine [Israel, Judea, Samaria and Gaza] into the Arab countries.
The cancer of conflict must be cut out. As Sir Walter Smiles, a Conservative member in British House of Commons said on November 24, 1938, during the debates on the Peel Commission Report, "No matter what sacrifice or discomfort people who were transferred were put to at one time, it might be better to get it over at once as the Greeks who left Asia Minor and went to Greece learned, rather than to be always at enmity with their neighbors" (1).
Four Nobel Peace Prize winners have proposed population transfer - Sir Norman Angell, Christian Lange, Philip Noel-Baker (in the specific case of Palestine), and Dr. Fridtjof Nansen as the proponent of the Greco-Turkish exchange. This speaks volumes about the morality of transfer. And especially in our case. As Hoover wrote in 1954 when he reached the age of 80, replying to a congratulatory letter, which referred to his transfer plan, "We were on the only sane track!" (1). The time is long overdue to look at a transfer of the Palestinian Arabs without prejudice and bias. Political correctness must be pushed aside. After an objective evaluation of all the pros and cons, if one really cares about the future of both the Jews and the Arabs who currently reside in Eretz Yisrael, there can be only one sane track.

"Seven Reasons Why Israel Is Entitled To The Land Of Israel"
I will discuss seven reasons, which I mentioned once before, why Israel is entitled to the land they have and that it should not be a part of the peace process.
.. The first reason is that Israel has the right to the land because of all of the archeological evidence. That is reason, No. 1. All the archeological evidence supports it.
Every time there is a dig in Israel, it does nothing but support the fact that Israelis have had a presence there for 3,000 years. They have been there for a long time. The coins, the cities, the pottery, the culture--there are other people, groups that are there, but there is no mistaking the fact that Israelis have been present in that land for 3,000 years.
It predates any claims that other peoples in the regions may have. The ancient Philistines are extinct. Many other ancient peoples are extinct. They do not have the unbroken line to this date that the Israelis have.
Even the Egyptians of today are not racial Egyptians of 2,000, 3,000 years ago. They are primarily an Arab people. The land is called Egypt, but they are not the same racial and ethnic stock as the old Egyptians of the ancient world. The first Israelis are in fact descended from the original Israelites. The first proof, then, is the archeology.
The second proof of Israel's right to the land is the historic right. History supports it totally and completely. We know there has been an Israel up until the time of the Roman Empire. The Romans conquered the land. Israel had no homeland, although Jews were allowed to live there. They were driven from the land in two dispersions: One was in 70 A.D. and the other was in 135 A.D. But there was always a Jewish presence in the land.
The Turks, who took over about 700 years ago and ruled the land up until about World War I, had control. Then the land was conquered by the British. The Turks entered World War I on the side of Germany. The British knew they had to do something to punish Turkey, and also to break up that empire that was going to be a part of the whole effort of Germany in World War I. So the British sent troops against the Turks in the Holy Land.
One of the generals who was leading the British armies was a man named Allenby. Allenby was a Bible-believing Christian. He carried a Bible with him everywhere he went and he knew the significance of Jerusalem.
The night before the attack against Jerusalem to drive out the Turks, Allenby prayed that God would allow him to capture the city without doing damage to the holy places.
That day, Allenby sent World War I biplanes over the city of Jerusalem to do a reconnaissance mission. You have to understand that the Turks had at that time never seen an airplane. So there they were, flying around. They looked in the sky and saw these fascinating inventions and did not know what they were, and they were terrified by them. Then they were told they were going to be opposed by a man named Allenby the next day, which means, in their language, ``man sent from God" or ``prophet from God." They dared not fight against a prophet from God, so the next morning, when Allenby went to take Jerusalem, he went in and captured it without firing a single shot.
The British Government was grateful to Jewish people around the world, particularly to one Jewish chemist who helped them manufacture niter. Niter is an ingredient that was used in nitroglycerin which was sent over from the New World. But they did not have a way of getting it to England. The German U-boats were shooting on the boats, so most of the niter they were trying to import to make nitroglycerin was at the bottom of the ocean. But a man named Weitzman, a Jewish chemist, discovered a way to make it from materials that existed in England. As a result, they were able to continue that supply.
The British at that time said they were going to give the Jewish people a homeland. That is all a part of history. It is all written down in history. They were gratified that the Jewish people, the bankers, came through and helped finance the war.
The homeland that Britain said it would set aside consisted of all of what is now Israel and all of what was then the nation of Jordan--the whole thing. That was what Britain promised to give the Jews in 1917.
In the beginning, there was some Arab support for this action. There was not a huge Arab population in the land at that time, and there is a reason for that. The land was not able to sustain a large population of people. It just did not have the development it needed to handle those people, and the land was not really wanted by anybody. Nobody really wanted this land. It was considered to be worthless land.
I want the Presiding Officer to hear what Mark Twain said. And, of course, you may have read ``Huckleberry Finn" and ``Tom Sawyer." Mark Twain--Samuel Clemens--took a tour of Palestine in 1867. This is how he described that land. We are talking about Israel now. He said:
A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human being on the whole route. There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.
Where was this great Palestinian nation? It did not exist. It was not there. Palestinians were not there. Palestine was a region named by the Romans, but at that time it was under the control of Turkey, and there was no large mass of people there because the land would not support them.
This is the report that the Palestinian Royal Commission, created by the British, made. It quotes an account of the conditions on the coastal plain along the Mediterranean Sea in 1913. This is the Palestinian Royal Commission. They said:
The road leading from Gaza to the north was only a summer track, suitable for transport by camels or carts. No orange groves, orchards or vineyards were to be seen until one reached the Yavnev village. Houses were mud. Schools did not exist. The western part toward the sea was almost a desert. The villages in this area were few and thinly populated. Many villages were deserted by their inhabitants.
That was 1913.
The French author Voltaire described Palestine as ``a hopeless, dreary place."
In short, under the Turks the land suffered from neglect and low population. That is a historic fact. The nation became populated by both Jews and Arabs because the land came to prosper when Jews came back and began to reclaim it. Historically, they began to reclaim it. If there had never been any archaeological evidence to support the rights of the Israelis to the territory, it is also important to recognize that other nations in the area have no long standing claim to the country either.
Did you know that Saudi Arabia was not created until 1913, Lebanon until 1920? Iraq did not exist as a nation until 1932, Syria until 1941; the borders of Jordan were established in 1946 and Kuwait in 1961. Any of these nations that would say Israel is only a recent arrival would have to deny their own rights as recent arrivals as well. They did not exist as countries. They were all under the control of the Turks.
Historically, Israel gained its independence in 1948.
The third reason that land belongs to Israel is the practical value of the Israelis being there. Israel today is a modern marvel of agriculture. Israel is able to bring more food out of a desert environment than any other country in the world. The Arab nations ought to make Israel their friend and import technology from Israel that would allow all the Middle East, not just Israel, to become an exporter of food. Israel has unarguable success in its agriculture.
The fourth reason I believe Israel has the right to the land is on the grounds of humanitarian concern. You see, there were 6 million Jews slaughtered in Europe in World War II. The persecution against the Jews had been very strong in Russia since the advent of communism. It was against them even before then under the Czars.
These people have a right to their homeland. If we are not going to allow them a homeland in the Middle East, then where? What other nation on Earth is going to cede territory, is going to give up land?
They are not asking for a great deal. The whole nation of Israel would fit into my home State of Oklahoma seven times. It would fit into the Presiding Officer's State of Georgia seven times. They are not asking for a great deal. The whole nation of Israel is very small. It is a nation that, up until the time that claims started coming in, was not desired by anybody.
The fifth reason Israel ought to have their land is that she is a strategic ally of the United States. Whether we realize it or not, Israel is a detriment, an impediment, to certain groups hostile to democracies and hostile to what we believe in, hostile to that which makes us the greatest nation in the history of the world. They have kept them from taking complete control of the Middle East. If it were not for Israel, they would overrun the region. They are our strategic ally.
It is good to know we have a friend in the Middle East on whom we can count. They vote with us in the United Nations more than England, more than Canada, more than France, more than Germany--more than any other country in the world.
The sixth reason is that Israel is a roadblock to terrorism. The war we are now facing is not against a sovereign nation; it is against a group of terrorists who are very fluid, moving from one country to another. They are almost invisible. That is whom we are fighting against today.
We need every ally we can get. If we do not stop terrorism in the Middle East, it will be on our shores. We have said this again and again and again, and it is true.
One of the reasons I believe the spiritual door was opened for an attack against the United States of America is that the policy of our Government has been to ask the Israelis, and demand it with pressure, not to retaliate in a significant way against the terrorist strikes that have been launched against them.
Since its independence in 1948, Israel has fought four wars: The war in 1948 and 1949--that was the war for independence--the war in 1956, the Sinai campaign; the Six-Day War in 1967; and in 1973, the Yom Kippur War, the holiest day of the year, and that was with Egypt and Syria.
You have to understand that in all four cases, Israel was attacked. They were not the aggressor. Some people may argue that this was not true because they went in first in 1956, but they knew at that time that Egypt was building a huge military to become the aggressor. Israel, in fact, was not the aggressor and has not been the aggressor in any of the four wars.
Also, they won all four wars against impossible odds. They are great warriors. They consider a level playing field being outnumbered 2 to 1.
There were 39 Scud missiles that landed on Israeli soil during the gulf war. Our President asked Israel not to respond. In order to have the Arab nations on board, we asked Israel not to participate in the war. They showed tremendous restraint and did not. Now we have asked them to stand back and not do anything over these last several attacks.
We have criticized them. We have criticized them in our media. Local people in television and radio often criticize Israel, not knowing the true facts. We need to be informed...
No. 7, I believe very strongly that we ought to support Israel; that it has a right to the land. This is the most important reason: Because God said so. As I said a minute ago, look it up in the book of Genesis. It is right up there on the desk.
In Genesis 13:14-17, the Bible says:
The Lord said to Abram, ``Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where you are northward, and southward, and eastward and westward: for all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed forever. ..... Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it to thee."
That is God talking.
The Bible says that Abram removed his tent and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar before the Lord. Hebron is in the West Bank. It is at this place where God appeared to Abram and said, ``I am giving you this land," — the West Bank.
This is not a political battle at all. It is a contest over whether or not the word of God is true. The seven reasons, I am convinced, clearly establish that Israel has a right to the land.
These seven reasons show why Israel is entitled to that land.

Subject: Zech. 12:3 and the UN
Shalom Yair,
I am so disgusted at the UN's hypocrisy that I can hardly talk about it,
but something occurred to me that I'll share with you. Zech. 12:3
forewarns that a time will come when God will make Jerusalem "a burdensome
stone for all people," and God will "cut them in pieces though all the
people of the earth be gathered together against it [Jerusalem]." The UN
actually does represent "all the people of the earth" and they are
increasingly hostile toward the Israelis who control Jerusalem. The UN
Security Council is now issuing unanimous demands upon Israel to withdraw
from the West Bank. Perhaps in the UN's uniform (and unfair) hostility
toward Israel, we are beginning to see a fulfillment of this unified
hostility of the world vs. Israel and its control of Jerusalem.

2. Dear Yair,
Thank you for your new Jerusalem News e-mails I enjoy them immensely.
Unfortunately the liberal media in America sides with the Palestinians, it
can be difficult to get accurate news about what's going on. I personally
would like to volunteer to join the IDF and help defend God's chosen
people against our enemies. I pray for your safety and that of all
Yehuda. I think it would be a good idea to start a fund to help the
Israeli military and government. Good Israelites from all the tribes
ought to help Yehuda in this time of need. We must not stand by our
brothers blood. Rabbi Meir Kahane was right all along, he was not an
extremist for advocating the deportation of all Palestinians, he was being
practical and supporting the best humanitarian solution for everyone. He
was right when he said you either choose me or Arafat. Unfortunately even
after all the terror Sharon still does not fully understand this. God
gave the land to Israel, and we should not give one grain of sand to
anyone else! The Arabs have 22 nations of their own. Jews only have one.
And Jews have been persecuted more than anyone else in the world,
pricisely because you are God's chosen people. I have been trying to help
Israel gain support by distributing Zionist pamphlets of articles by the
wise Rabbi Kahane. I met a shmuck at work who had the audacity and
ignorance to say that Israel targets civilians with bombs too, I told him
that's mushuga, unfortunately Israel bombs empty buildings and gives guns
to the PA. If someone is against Israel there are either an ignorant
fool, or a twisted anti-Semite. And I am praying that Mr. Bush will wake
up and quit trying to sit on the fence while God's people are killed, and
the only democracy and the only non-dictatorship in the middle east is
attacked. Israel treats the Palestinians better than Arab nations treat
their own citizens, yet they still hate Israel almost instinctively. I
pray for your well being, please let us know how we can best help Yehuda
right now.
Shalom,
Yisrael ben Yosef / Patrick

European Union gives "Peace Coalition" 1.7 million Euro for anti-government
rally
Aaron Lerner Date: 5 April 2002
Arutz 7 radio commentator Adir Zik revealed this morning that he has
evidence that the European Union is contributing 1.7 million Euro (around
$1.5 million) to Yossi Beilin's "peace coalition" for their upcoming
anti-government rally.
The European Union also helps finance Yitzhak Frankenthal's "Bereaved
Families' Forum" international campaign to encourage Israeli concessions.
Frankenthal told IMRA that the campaign has a budget of hundreds of
thousands of dollars. The Bereaved Families' Forum is a group of Israeli and
Palestinian parents whose children died or blew themselves up in the course
of the conflict. They all agree Israel should make concessions.
Investigative reporter Yoav Yitzchak report in the 8 February 2002 issue of
Ma'ariv that former Labor Party MK Beilin is drawing an annual salary of NIS
350,000 - NIS 400,000 from The Economic Cooperation Foundation (ECF), a Tel
Aviv based organization that he formed with Yair Hirschfeld at the end of
1990.
Yitzchak noted that the bulk of the ECF budget is covered by the European
Union. In addition to the salary, ECF covers Beilin's heavy travel
expenses - including meetings with Palestinians overseas.

documents - Main Points - Briefing - 4\4\02, 16:00
(Communicated by the IDF Spokesperson)
Thursday, April 04, 2002
We found two documents in Arafat's compound in Ramallah bearing Arafat's
signature, these connect Arafat to the terror.
The Original Documents
The First Document-
An official document released from Arafat's office and sent to him, and in
it, a request for the sum of $2,500 dollars for aiding well-known
terrorists.
There is note to the document in Arafat's handwriting and bearing his
signature.
We entered many offices, such as the offices of Fuad Shubaki (the Chief
Financial Officer) and Tirawi (Head of the Palestinian General Security) -
it is not known from which exact office the documents were taken.
On September 9th 2001 a request for financial aid was made for three people:
1. Raed Carmi - Tanzim commander in Tul-Karem. He was on the wanted list
that Israel sent the Palestinian Authority in June 2001 (the document with
Arafat's signature is from September 2001, 10 days after the terror attack
on the Twin Towers in New-York).
2. Ziad Muhamad Da'as - . One
of the head planners of the terror attack at the Bar-Mitzva celebration in
Hedera.
3. Omer Ka'adan - One of the main operatives.
The second document -
The fax is addressed from Ra'ad Carmi to Marwan Barghouti (Head of Tanzim in
the West Bank); Arafat's signature appears on the front page which contains
the list of 12 people for whom the transfer of funds were authorized.
Barghouti added his requests to the document (to pay the terrorists), which
was transferred to Arafat who in turn authorized the transfer of funds.
All 12 persons who appear on the list are wanted terror operatives who
either took active part in, or sent others to execute attacks.

History has come round full circle ג€“ almost.
Back in 1982, defense minister Sharon, spearheading Israelג€™s invasion of
Lebanon, clashed frequently with the Reagan administration and vice
president Bush. In the end, Sharon was forced to step down. As the price
for insisting on sending Israeli troops into Beirut, he was shut out of
politics and public office for many years. Yet twenty years later, Sharon
appears read to butt heads with George W. Bush over the Israeli armyג€™s
presence in the Palestiniansג€™ West Bank capital, Ramallah.
The aftermath of the 1982 Beirut episode was even more painful for the
United States. After forcing the Israeli army to withdraw from Beirut,
Sharonג€™s resignation, and Arafatג€™s forced exile from Lebanese shores with
4000 followers, President Ronald Reagan sent the Marines to the stricken
country to assure the implementation of his policies ג€“ only to precipitate
the most ghastly terrorist attack ever to be visited on American troops:
the terror bombing of the Marines compound in Beirut, in which 241 US
servicemen perished. That calamity was succeeded by the wholesale
hostage-taking of Americans and other Westerners in the anarchic Lebanese
capital. Eventually, the Reagan administration was rocked by the Irangate
scandal, when it was caught violating US law by selling arms to the
Revolutionary government of Iran in order to buy the lives of American
hostages in Lebanon.
An unknown 27-year old Lebanese Shiite extremist called Imad Mughniyeh was
the key figure in the terror campaign against Americans in Lebanon, and
eventually drove them out of the place. Mughniyeh, who started out as a
member of Arafatג€™s Force 17 in Lebanon, has now returned to that country,
after many years in Tehran, and resumed his old ties with Arafat as the
link man between him and al Qaeda, of which he is a senior operative.
Readers with a sense of historical irony will appreciate the bizarre fact
that the leading figures in the contemporary Middle East crisis are almost
identical to those who played out the Beirut drama of 1982: George Bush's
son, Ariel Sharon, Yasser Arafat and Imad Mughniyeh.

April 5, 2002
(Communicated by the IDF Spokesperson)
Friday, April 05, 2002
Major General Giora Eiland:
Operation "Defense Shield", from its inception, was underpinned by two
goals:
1) To reduce the number of terror attacks
2) To destroy or at least reduce significantly the
capability of Palestinian terrorists
After less than one week, we may confidently note that these goals have
largely been achieved:
1) We have succeeded in reducing terrorist activity,
though we are unable to guarantee its re-emergence in the future.
2) We have detained over 1200 individuals for
interrogation, some of whom are among the most wanted and extremely
dangerous terrorists.
3) We uncovered an abundance of ammunition, arms, weapons,
explosives labs and equipment, the existence of which is forbidden according
to the provisions of signed agreements between Israel and the PA.
The longer the duration of the operation, the better our chances are of
achieving its goals.
Colonel Miri Eisen:
The colonel went on and reported that the bodies of 17 Palestinians have been found. These Palestinians were killed by Arabs connected to Arafat since they were suspected of co-operating with the Israelis.

Greetings Yair --
I like very much the Jerusalem news reports you are sending out. My prayers are with my brothers of the house of Judah, as with all the Israelite remnant. I pray that before long American families like my own can return to our forefathers' land and help rebuild it.
Below is a letter I just e-mailed to the Editor of our local newspaper.
David H. Prichard
Dear Editor,
There are times when the "consensus" of the nations goes against the way things just have to be. Such is the case concerning Palestinian terrorists. The fact is that the majority of Palestinians in the West Bank today are too thoroughly brainwashed into bitterness, hatred, and terror to be allowed to stay there. They will either have to leave the West Bank, or remain prisoners in even more crowded "refugee camps" if their Arab "brothers" who have spurned them for decades continue to use them as martyr propaganda.
Golda Meir once said that when the Palestinian mothers start to love their children more than they hate the Jews, then peace could come. But the Palestinian culture has rewarded hatred so thoroughly it is too late for most of them to learn better. It is sad that almost an entire society can become so deeply unredeemable. But what is even sadder is that United Nations humanists who speak so highly of human rights can expect Israel to essentially commit national suicide, when responsibility for 90% of the problem rests clearly with the surrounding Arab governments and their brutal religious dogma. Despite "world opinion", UN resolutions, Arab suicide bombers, or Arab missiles, Bible prophecy will be fulfilled as written. The prophets Ezekiel and Zechariah foretold that before the great Gog & Magog invasion of Israel, the tribes of Israel would be living securely in unwalled cities. That time has finally come.
The good news is those same prophecies indicate that among the Arabs are a remnant of true-hearted people who will come into soon-to-be captured land around Israel in droves as soon as they get the chance to escape the bloody leaders who presently hold their citizens captive. Most of them are probably descended from the ten "lost tribes" of Israel who were scattered across the globe. Millions more such descendants will return from nations all over the world including America. Israeli Jews will be persuaded to allow this, although I cannot imagine at this point what sort of governing arrangement will be created. But the land promised to the children of Israel includes far more than that upon which Israeli Jews occupy today and some of that land will become accessible to non-Jews who are friendly toward the Jews.
When these things begin to happen, let us all remember that it is God who sits above governments, armies, and economies in order to accomplish His purposes.

HISTORY ISN'T ON THE PALESTINIANS' SIDE
Arafat's strategy is suicidal in more ways than one.
BY VICTOR DAVIS HANSON Wall Street Journal April 2, 2002
For all the efforts of our contemporary theorists to
harness and sometimes refashion history, the facts of
the past belong to no one--and won't go away. Those
who conjure it up often discover to their dismay that
they themselves are subject to its brutal laws of truth.
The Palestinians are fast learning of history's ironies
and unintended reminders, as they seek to invoke the
past to convince Americans of the righteousness of
their present plight.
Take the idea of the occupation of Arab lands since
1967, which the Palestinians now cite as a singular
historical grievance that needs immediate rectification
through intervention of the U.S. But sadly occupation
and partition are the bastard children of war; and
history, rightly or wrongly, is not kind to states that
repeatedly attack their neighbors--and lose.
Ask the millions of poor Germans who had their
ancestral lands confiscated by Poland and France--and
their country subsequently partitioned for a half
century. Why do the Russians still occupy portions of
the old Japanese homeland decades after the
surrender? How is it that the British won't give up
Gibraltar long after their successful battles against the
Spanish fleet? And why must the world give far more
attention to Palestine than it does to Tibetans, Irish
and Chechens?
The situation on the West Bank is not only
commonplace in history's harsh calculus, but prevalent
even throughout the Arab world today. Right next door
in Lebanon, Syria controls far more Arab land than does
Israel. And if Palestinians suffer second-class
citizenship under Israeli occupation, they are worse off
in occupied Lebanon where, as helots, they are denied
basic rights to employment, health care and
government services.
Kuwait ethnically cleansed all Palestinians--perhaps a
third of a million--just a decade ago. Well after the
1967 Six Day War, the Jordanians themselves
slaughtered thousands. Before the intifada more
Palestinians sought work in a hated Israel than in a
beloved Egypt. History suggests that there is more
going on in Palestine than the morality of occupation
5. From CAFI: APPEASING ARAB HATE PUTS THE LIE TO "NEVER AGAIN"
The official position of Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister,
speaking from his beach in Barbados, is that Israel's
response to the Passover massacre is "disproportionate."
Mr. Graham did not specify what would be proportionate.
But presumably, if he were Prime Minister of Israel, he'd
respond by fishing some girl out of her Home Ec class at
Tel Aviv High, loading her blouse with Semtex, and
pointing her in the direction of the nearest Ramallah
pizzeria to blow the legs off Palestinian grannies. Alas,
I fear even this proportionate, measured, reasonable
response would be unlikely to win Israel any sympathy
in the chancelleries of the west.

In addition, after a year in the opposition, the NRP will join the government coalition. Its two ministers in the government will be Eitam, who will also join the important mini-security cabinet, and Rabbi Yitzchak Levy, whose consent to resign as party leader paved the way for Eitam. Eitam was considered a talented army officer, whose way to the rank of Maj.-Gen. was blocked mainly by the yarmulke [Jewish skull-cap] he wears on his head.
