Present-Day Tribal Identities: An Outline.
The overwhelming majority of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel are now to be found amongst western Peoples. Using Biblical Prophecies, Tribal Names, the names of Tribal Clans, Tribal Emblems and Characteristics, etc, we can say where certain Tribes are located and give expression to their Specific Israelite Tribal Ancestry.

Present-Day
Tribal Identities:

An Outline

For detailed explanations and much, much more confirming the identifications made below see our work, "The Tribes. The Israelite Origins of Western Peoples".

Exile and Loss of Identity
The Ten Tribes were exiled by the Assyrians. They lost their identity since such was required by Divine Providence. More prosaic explanations explain their loss of Israelite consciousness as a natural outcome of Idolatry, worshipping foreign gods, and intermixing with other peoples. Very few of them were literate at the time and ethnic awareness was different then than it later became.

Movement to the West
The Ten Tribes were in part taken directly to the west by Phoenicians and Philistines (Minoeans/Myceneans) working by the  the Assyrians. Others were settled in the east but later moved westwards. Apart from the Khazars, who were also part of the Ten Tribes, all of the Lost Israelites moved to Western Europe. From there, their descendants populated North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other areas.

Tracing the Tribes
We can trace the migrations of the Ten Tribes westwards. The Bible gives the names of the Israelite Tribes. It also enumerates the different clans amongst the Tribes (Genesis 46,  Numbers 26). We can trace the migrations of the Tribes westwards in history. Frequently they still bear the names of Israelite clans. We find that in the west clans and groups belonging to specific tribes tended to re-coalesce as if driven by Divine Providence. Certain areas became dominated by specific tribes. The national symbols of these regions often  reflect the Tribal Standards and emblems of the Israelite Tribes a dominant element amongst them belonged to.

Identifying the Tribes
Below are a very few points to illustrate our claims. A more thorough explanation is to be found elsewhere on our web site and in our book, "The Tribes".

Finland pertains to Issachar. The Finnish Provinces Mikeli, Kim, and Uusima reflect clan-names in Issachar Michael (head of a clan, 1-Chronicles 7:3), Yachmai, Yivsom (both sons of Tola cf. Thule a former name for Scandinavia, 1-Chronicles 7:2). Characteristics of Issachar are those of Finland.

Sweden to Gad: Tribes that settled in Sweden were named after  Gad and clans of Gad. The Goths and Suiones settled Sweden. The word Goth is another way in Ancient Hebrew of pronouncing Gad. The Goths also referred to themselves as Gad. The Suiones derives from the Shuoni clan of Gad. The Herules and Harudi (Hread-Goths, etc) who were present in Sweden and Scandinavia in general come from are the Ha-Areli and Ha-Arudi of Gad (Numbers 26:17). The same applies to the other clans of Gad all of whom are found in Sweden and Scandinavia.

Norway to Naphtali. The Naphtalite Huns were named after Naphtali. Tradition said they came from Naphtali and Dan. From Scythia the Naphtalite Huns moved to Norway and Denmark. The symbol of Naphtali was a female deer and the deer was a well-known symbol of Scandinavian Royalty at a later date.

Denmark to Dan. The name Denmark (Danmark in Danish) means "Border of Dan" and the Danes have a tradition that they descend from Dan.

Netherlands to Zebulon. The Sabulingoi settled in the North Netherlands. Sabulingoi in Hebrew means "People [goi] of Zebulon". "Zebulon le-Chof-Yamim Yishcon" (Genesis 49:13) in Hebrew means that Zebulon will dwell on the shores of the sea. The Dutch with their dykes and dams and two-thirds of the country literally on the sea-shores fulfill this. The symbol of Zebulon was a ship which was also the official symbol of the Dutch republic and traditionally of Holland in general.

Belgium to Benjamin. The Belgae came from Bela(g)h of Benjamin (Numbers 26:38).

France to Reuben. Names of groups that settled in France are those of Reuben and clans of Reuben. The French had the characteristics of Reuben. The French are romantic and amorous, so was Reuben.

Switzerland also to Issachar. "Keeper of the times" (1-Chronicles 12:32).

Scotland to Asher. The Tribe of Asher settled in great numbers in Scotland though other Israelite Tribes were present as well. Asher was also found in Scandinavia where it is referred to as the ancestral heroes known as As (singular) and in plural Aseir.

Ireland and Wales to Simeon and Dan (as well as to Joseph). Both Simuen and Dan are referred to as ancestors in Irish Mythology. Manasseh was also found in  Ireland and so was Ephraim and Judah.

England (along with Canada, Australia, New Zealand) to Ephraim. The word England comes from Angle. In both Hebrew and ancient Germanic the term Angle could be rendered or pronounced as Aegel. Aegel in Hebrew means a young bull. Ephraim was referred to as an Aegel or Angel i.e. young bull (Jeremiah 31:17).  Ephraim was a tribe based on aristocracy as England still is.

USA to Manasseh.
The early settlers of the USA came from Britain but we have shown how they came from specific areas and social groupings where Manasseh had been dominant. The name America is derived from "Ha-Macheri" (Numbers 26:29) meaning descendants of Machir the first-born son of Manasseh.

A Repetition of Patterns: Relative Tribal Positioning
Amongst the several patterns that recur in this studies we find that of Relative Positioning. The identification of the Tribes forms a Pattern of each tribe in relation to its neighbors. This is shown to be the same configuration as that which existed in Ancient Israel. In Ancient Israel Gad, Reuben, and half-Manasseh had been to the east of the Jordan. In the far North had been Northern Dan and the Tribe of Asher. Then came Naphtali, Dan (of the Galilee), Zebulon, and Issachar, then Manassah and Ephraim, etc. This pattern of relative placement was to be repeated throughout their migrations and still exists today.

Evidence.
We prove the Tribal affinity of different countries by examining how they fulfill Biblical prophecies, the names of peoples who settled amongst them, national symbols and characteristics as compared to those of the Biblical Tribes. Bible Codes. Legends concerning the founding fathers of the nation, etc.
