1. Question: Why did the Creator Speak in Plural Form?
From Andy
Hi Yair,

Until now, I never thought of asking a religious Jew such as yourself about his interpretation of the following verse in Genesis 1:26, and in particular, the meaning of "us" and "our"..... And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
Please respond with an answer to your understanding in this matter, if you will; not that it would change my mind, but rather of my sincere interest of wanting to hear your side of the meaning.

Much appreciated, Yair.
Thanks
Andy Reaume

Answer:
The Sages explain it to mean that the Almighty consulted with the Angels before creating man.
Alternately ALL that was created before man together with the Almighty was to participate in the creation of man so that man possesses elements of all that preceded him.
Again the Grammatical Forms in Hebrew cannot always be translated exactly into European tongues. Plural forms in subject form can refer to the object, e.g. in Spoken Hebrew "Baalim" means the Owner of all the property. "Baalim" is in plural form though it means not necessarily more than one owner who however owns the property, aspects of which may comprise a plurality.

2. Question: Where Did Baruch Go?
From "Nils E. Moen"

Hello everybody.

Many of us love to read Jeremiah, every time I read it I see something new.  I have read Jeremiah many times, but since I became a Brit-Am believer I see things different.

Anatot did belong to Benjahmin tribe and It looks that the land of Anatot once again is going to be very important, now for the lost people of Israel and Judah.

Looks like this EARTHEN VESSEL containing the EVIDENCE is just waiting to be found.  Where it is found, is going to be a solid proof of who the lost tribes are and who this land belongs to.

[Jeremiah 32:14] THUS SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE GOD OF ISRAEL; TAKE THESE EVIDENCES, THIS EVIDENCE OF THE PURCHASE, BOTH WHICH IS SEALED, AND THIS EVIDENCE WHICH IS OPEN; AND PUT THEM IN AN EARTHEN VESSEL, THAT THEY MAY CONTINUE MANY DAYS.

[Jeremiah 32:15] FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD OF HOSTS, THE GOD OF ISRAEL; HOUSES AND FIELDS AND VINEYARDS SHALL BE POSSESSED AGAIN IN THIS LAND.

[Jeremiah 32:16] NOW WHEN I HAD DELIVERED THE EVIDENCE OF THE PURCHASE UNTO BARUCH THE SON OF NERIAH, I PRAYED UNTO THE LORD, SAYING,

[Jeremiah 32:17] AH LORD GOD! BEHOLD, THOU HAST MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH BY THY GREAT POWER AND STRETCHED OUT ARM, AND THERE IS NOTHING TOO HARD FOR THEE:

Where did Baruch go?

God bless you all.
NM

Answer:
We do not know where Baruch went.
Old British Israel scholars based on Irish Legends claimed that Baruch (or in some versions not Baruch but Jeremiah himself) came to Ireland with Tea Tephi the daughter of the King of Judah. Tea Tephi married the heir to the throne of Ireland. From their descendants came the future monarchs of Britain who therefore (so the claim went) through the female line were descended from the House of David.

Dear Sir,
I am wanting to know your thoughts concerning what is written in the web-site I have sent to you concerning the the subject of the Lost tribes of Israel. Quite honestly it is a bit confusing.

Sincerely,
Robert O

Answers:
First of all the site is a criticism against the message of some British-Israel type doctrine which though similar to our own is not the same.
The criticisms concern:

(1. Population Increase. How can so many People have descended from so few forefathers?
(2. Language Loss: Why do they not all speak Hebrew?
(3. Regathering of Israel: Scripture predicted the return of the Israelites to their Land. The Jews have in large part returned.  If the others are also Israelites why have they not also gone to live in Israel?
(4. The Chosen Race: Christianity says that all believers are Spiritually Israelites therefore physical derivation from Israelite Tribes is not important.
(5. Not one people is superior to another. Believe in descent from the Lost Tribes is dangerous and wrong.

The criticisms are negative and should be considered along with the
more than 100 or so Brit-Am Biblical Proofs that are all positively assertive.

The site says:
(1. Population Increase
In Jacob's day, the patriarch was, at a very, very conservative estimate, one man in a world population of at least 6,000,000. The world's population in Jacob's day was probably a lot greater than that, but for the purpose of this discussion we'll say Jacob was one in six million people on earth. The present combined populations of the alleged British-Israel nations: Britain ( Ephraim ), the USA ( Manasseh ), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and western Europe France ( Reuben ) Denmark ( Dan ) Saxony ( Isaac's sons ) etc. is about 1,000,000,000 ( one UK billion ): which is approximately one sixth of the world's present population of about 6,000,000,000 ( six UK billion ).

Now consider for a moment this astonishing fact. If the British Israel theory were true, it would mean that Jacob's descendants somehow grew from being one in six million to one in six! Statistically that is impossible.

Answer:  We do not say that ALL of the peoples in the above areas are necessarily Israelites but rather a great many of them.
The blessings of the Almighty were precisely that in a miraculous way the descendants of the Forefathers would be exceedingly numerous.
See our Biblical Proof on Immense Multitudes
Even statistically this is possible. Historically some ancient peoples disappeared while others merited great population explosions. The populations of the British Isles in the Dark Ages (ca. 800 CE) which is not so long ago is estimated by some to have been as low as ca. 1 million.  Population all over the world had greatly dwindled.
Even if this figure is not exact it shows what historians believe to be feasible.
DNA experts say that people with the "Northwest Irish Haplotype" number today 4 million males or more which with their families could be ca 8 million people and more. Some believe that everyone with this marker descend from the father of Nial (died ca 404 CE) and his brothers. Whether this is so or not it is a statisitical possibility.
If feasibly the posterity of one individual not so long ago could have increased to such a degree so could all of the above mentioned populations have come from Ancient Israelites.

POPULATIONS CHANGE: In Second Temple Times the world population of the Jewish Peoples may have been as many as six million. Today it is around 13 million. At that time the population of China was about the same as that of the Jews but today it is about 1,300 million. The population of the British Isles in Second Temple Times was about 2 million. Today they and their descendants numbers around 400 million?
In other words:
The Jews who represent only two of the twelve tribes at that time were as numerous as the Chinamen. They could in theory have increased the same as the Chinese did and the Chinese now number 1,300 million.
The Lost Ten Tribes consisted of five times as many Tribes as the Jews did.
The Chinese numbered then about the same as the Jews.
Conceivably the Lost Ten Tribes could have increased to be at least five times as numerous as the Chinese are now!
You could therefore ask NOT how they came to be so numerous but rather why there are not much more of them?

Q1. Question: HOW MANY ISRAELITES WILL THERE BE?

(2. Language Loss
The second reason concerns language loss. When Israel was scattered around the world, the language its people spoke was basically Hebrew ( or Aramaic ). How is it that the peoples of Britain, the USA and western Europe now speak so many different languages ( English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Flemish, German etc. ) and not Hebrew? Shouldn't they all be speaking the same language if they are all descendants of the same nation - Israel? Here we have a twin phenomena:
All these so-called Israelites lost their ability to speak their native tongue - Hebrew.
Instead they invented new languages - each tribe inventing its own tongue!
Is that likely? Can any nation, numbering millions, just forget its language and each of its 12 tribes invent a new language? To suggest that the lost 10 tribes invented so many new languages ( English, French, Dutch, Flemish, German and Danish ) and also all forgot Hebrew is stretching credulity to its limits.

Answer:  This claim is the easiest of all.
Nations change their languages.
How many people speak Latin-based languages today?
How many (including the populations of Latin America) actually
came from Rome the initial spreader of Latin?
The same applies to present-day speakers of English.

The Lost Ten Tribes on the whole came under the influence of either Celtic or Germanic cultures. They influenced them and were influenced by them.
Germanic tongues have a Hebrew base and vocabulary.
The "Celtic" languages of the British Isles (Welsh, Gaelic) have a Hebrew substructure.

Compare the Anglo-Saxon dialect in "Beowulf" (ca. 600 CE?) to Modern English.
The difference in my opinion is not greater than the difference between
Hebrew and English today.

(3. Regathering of Israel
The third reason for rejecting the British Israel theory is based on Bible prophecies concerning Israel in the last days. Bible prophecy tells us that the people of Israel ( who were scattered to the far corners of the earth after the fall of Jerusalem ) would be re-gathered at the end of this age. The scattering ( Diaspora ) began about two thousand years ago. The re-gathering began in this century.

In the past few decades, millions of Israelites have returned to the new-born state of Israel. The population now has exceeded the 6,000,000 mark. But, strangely enough, we do not see millions of British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, Danes, French or Saxons going to live in the land of Israel. Why not? If they are the descendants of the Lost 10 Tribes why are these people not going back to Israel as Bible prophecy said they would? The answer is obvious. These people are, in the main, not the descendants of the Lost 10 Tribes. Some of them may be: but certainly not the vast majority.

Instead we see Israelites from Russia, Yemen, Hungary, Poland, Ethiopia and the eastern European countries returning in plane, ship and bus loads to the land of Israel. Tens of thousands have literally walked into Israel. This cannot be said of the British, the Americans and the western Europeans: simply because they are not the blood born descendants of Jacob.

Answer:  The British helped the Jews regain part of the Land of Israel.
Since the establishment of the State of Israel it was France and after that the USA who helped the Jewish State survive and prosper.
The prophecies concerning the Return to the Land in the full sense have still to take place.
In the meanwhile Judah is preparing the way for the other Tribes as prophesied.
The Return of Judah Precedes the Return of the Other Tribes
Micah 4:8, Hosea 6:11.

(4. The Chosen Race
[Paraphrased from the original] The Chosen Race: Christianity says that all believers are Spiritually Israelites therefore physical derivation from Israelite Tribes is not important.

Answer:  This claim is not within our jurisdiction.
Even if someone is spiritually an "Israelite" it does not mean that physical Israelites do not exist or that the literal fulfilment of Prophecy no longer applies to them.

(5. Conclusion
In view of these facts, let all lay aside the false notion of being superior to other peoples or races: be they black, brown ( as the Saviour was ) yellow or white. The British Israel theory collapses on several other scores; but enough proof is given here to discard it as a dangerous fallacy! Having to fall back on appearance, colour, race, education, accent, wealth or social standing is at best - a very poor substitute for faith and holiness.

Answer: We are Brit-Am which is not British-Israel even though in a sense we are the true inheritors of this doctrine in its oringinal form, as explained in our article,
"Brit-Am is the True British-Israel Movement!! British-Israelite Ideaology in the Light of Reality"
We are not advocating anything as a substitute for "faith and holiness".
We believe in the Bible.
The Bible affirms Brit-Am Belief.
If you have an argument with Scripture that is another question.
