Concerning The Tribe of Asher and the co-joining with Asterah ; I think that you are over grasping here. The Asterah phallic religion was a part of Baal Worship that was introduced thru Nimrod and all of the falsehoods he enforced. Just because the two names sound somewhat alike, doesn't mean they are interrelated. You are mixing apples and pine cones.

We were quoting from Fishel Mael. We only gave the bare outlines of what Rabbi Fishel had written.
Perhaps when his words are seen in context and his complete exposition represented the suggested link Asher-Asherah will be understood as more feasible?
The cult of Asherah was associated with the moon, with trees, fertility, and the goddess Asherah.
The goddess Asherah was also known as Astarte. In Mesopotamia she was identified with Inanna. In Scandinavia they also also worshipped Inanna under the same name.
Bede mentions the Angl-Saxon goddess known as Eostre.
All of the Israelites worshipped Canaanite deities. The Tribe of Asher was among them.The Ten Tribes were exiled due to their pagan practices:

17 And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger. 18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them from His sight; there was none left but the tribe of Judah alone.
Here in 2-Kings 17:10 we find a mention of Asherim translated as "wooden images".
In 2-Kings 17:16 we find an Asherah translated as wooden image.
The word "Asher" is from a root meaning happiness.
Fishel Mael points out that the sons of the Maidservants, Bilhah (Dan and Naphtali), and Zilpah (Asher and Gad) were blessed with a natural innate happiness.
This would have been especially pronounced with Asher whose very name expressed this quality.
In Hebrew every name has a meaning which is believed to express an intrinsic characteristic of what is named.
it is easy to see how the fertility pagan cult of the naked goddess Asherah could have involved what they imagined to be "a happy experience" for some of its participants.
It is also understandable that the quality of being happy could take a negative direction once negativity had set in.
